I think I told you that DS had arranged for the roof on my Cape home to be re-shingled? Well that didn't happen. He had a friend who was a former roofer who was going to do it yesterday along with another friend who currently works with a different roofer. The primary guy never showed up! The solution (which better work or I will have to take over which I didn't want to have to do), is that DS has hired the second friend's boss to do it this coming Saturday. All the supplies and the dumpster were purchased/rented and are waiting so it needed to get done quickly to avoid sunk cost on the dumpster at minimum. I am glad I was at Mike's home to avoid this fiasco, but it better be in progress when we arrive to pick up Justice on our way back from Florida on Saturday.

Last night we had pre-marinated chicken and corn. The latter was good but the former not so great as it was dry and the marinade was fairly tasteless. I would rather make my own. Oh well, less dinner consumed as a result.

Today is errands, getting my car inspected, and starting to pack for our 3 days, 4 nights in Florida. We don't leave until 7:30 tomorrow night so are a little concerned about having a delay/cancellation but our fingers are crossed. The primary purpose of the trip is to sign our post-nuptial agreement and my updated will and durable POA. Other than that we will visit a couple of favorite restaurants and do an accounting of what we left there in May so we are better prepared to pack for our seasonal return in September. In the past I have taken pictures but I was rushed this time so didn't do that.

Time to take a walk on the beach and get organized. Have a munificent Monday!

Today's walk sponsored by... 3 ft dead snake!

Also copious quail and bunnies. I took a long walk this morning (4 miles) with a lot of uphill parts. Whew, I'm out of shape!

We had 0.3" of rain last night with lots of thunder and lightning. Another half inch expected today and a lot cooler. I'm still getting things put away and looking at different neighborhoods.

I'll probably go explore a little more today. The realtors are taking me to lunch on Wednesday. They seem keen to get my business and I'm okay with that!

I put a bunch of addresses of houses for sale in my car nav and drove around to see them yesterday. It ruled out a lot of them. Some for strange locations and some for no cell service.

Food continues to be good and then the walk was good too. Weight was up, but I think that just means the end of the water weight losses.

Take care all!

I feel like cell phones might use Wi-Fi when needed to boost the calls? I may be wrong but it seems like I haven't had great cell signals at more than one home but my calls were still quite clear (though I don't know why exactly).

That might work? Even with wifi calling, my 2 bars in my old neighborhood made calling really unreliable. Sometimes it just wouldn't ring, or calls would cut in and out. These neighborhoods don't even register 1 bar. If internet service were stronger here, then maybe? It's a great question for the real estate agents!

Greetings all

A day of running around all day. Time in the studio, pick up sign and return payroll, then travel to the gallery to put new stuff in and sort $$ and make change. It was a good sale day up there in spite of it being overcast. And the locals were swarming at the little wine tasting room. I put nearly 100 miles on the car and just came home and plugged it in. Anyone thinking about a new car I urge you to think electric as its so dang easy.

Fence repair guy showed up unannounced today but its ok. He counted up the number of planks that need replacing and will come back and fix stuff with new wood. This is the guy who doesn't speak much english but he is very nice and hard working. Dogs did not get out yesterday so our band aid fence repairs are holding for now. Makes me nervous and it will be good to get it done.

One more night of chicken curry. Then I will have to think of something new.

I will miss scrabble tomorrow due to monthly board meeting for studio. Thanks to PPP loans last year we are doing well.

I have fallen off drinking the protein drinks. Just can't seem to get in the habit. With my restriction I tend to want to eat something good. Thats the right idea but geez its just a protein drink.

Ick CC that snake. guess you are going to have to learn to look out for those. Glad you got a walk in and some exploring.

We watched the rest of Hacks last night. Pretty funny. I recomend it. But now the search is on again for something without exploding aliens.

How much longer do you have the pups Peps? Any decisions on keeper(s).

Cheers. diane s

Great news on fence repairs.

I am intrigued by electric cars but at the rate I am driving lately it is going to be a very long time before I get a new car. I do hate paying the gas prices when I fill up though.

Hello Beautiful Tribe

Popping in as I am back from my holiday. It was good but super hectic with the grandbabies. Memories being made. The weather was lovely, a welcome warm break. We explored heaps, snorkelled the reef and saw a lot of the coastline and rainforests. It was stunning.

We left Cairns Saturday evening and arrived home at 1a, Sunday. Quiet day unpacking, washing etc etc and back to work yesterday. I did 11 hours playing catch up and I have a lot more to do. I think my boss was very happy to see me back.

I ended up with COVID finally and wasnt great for a while. Im still tired so trying to not stack as much into each evening after work. I made a huge lot of Fried Rice last night for dinner tonight. I put on around 6lbs on holiday so its time to scale down my eating. I dropped 800gms yesterday so Im on the way. I was 180.8 lbs this morning. Back to daily weighing for me ! I want to get back down to around 175lbs. I find loosing weight in Winter hard!

I will try and go back to read over everyones posts and will pop some photos in TT on FB of the holiday a bit later

Love to you all and stay well

S

I'm sorry you ended up with COVID but glad you recovered and made memories with your grand babies.

Your weight isn't up much compared to mine. The good thing is that mine is stable but I really would like it lower.
