It didn't reach 100 here yesterday, but was over 90 which is highly unusual on Cape Cod. We are going to Florida for a few days this week and I don't think it will be much hotter there than it has been here for the last few days.
We had a good beach day and date night. I dunked all the way under water numerous times to keep cool at the beach yesterday. I usually don't get my hair wet but it was necessary yesterday to ensure maximum cooling. We ate at a restaurant on the harbor in the town north of here and it was a great atmosphere. I had mussels as I have been ordering a lot lately and couldn't finish them.
Today is more of the same (beach) possibly with some food shopping thrown in. It seems like Mondays are the busiest days here to shop so today might be better. I think the weekly vacationers arrive late Saturday, reserve Sunday for the beach, then do the weeks food shopping early on Monday.
Have a super Sunday!

Liz, when I'm home, I too strategize when to grocery shop. My preferred time for optimal ease: during a Vikings game :) Costco is wide open.
Another scorcher today! Going to tthe beach sounds awesome! Sadly, we're packing up. There will be some sweating, or perspiring for the more well mannered among us, as there is no air conditioning upstairs in the cottage. I tried to get a good chunk done in the relative cool of the morning, but I still have to clean the bathroom and sweep. Luckily my Aunt doesn't want the beds remade. I'm just washing the sheets, and leaving them folded on the beds.
We really enjoyed our time living the New England life here on the North Shore of Boston. Now we'll get a taste of living the bohemian life of 20 year olds in a 3rd floor walk up in Jamaica Plains. There is air conditioning however. We bought DD a window unit as a gift, which turns out to be a gift for us too.
Enjoy your Sunday, stay cool and hydrated!!

A good thunderstorm last night cooled things off so I took a walk. A little humid, but good to be moving. I ran across this guy...
He was a good 4" across (with legs)!
I need to put things away today. It's dragged on too long. Then maybe another drive to see another area. I'm feeling a little anxiety today. I think it's dad worry.
213 this morning. Heading in the right direction if I can keep it up.
Good luck with the packing, DD! Happy beaching, Liz!
That thing would creep me out!

Greetings all
I am still in my pjs drinking coffee and trying to choke down calcium pills. I should probably splurge on the chewables since I hate these large pills even though they are supposedly petites. They are not. I used the chocolate chewables for awhile but they have quite a few calories. Oh well.
Mussels are good Liz. Reminds me to try some. And I love oysters which grow here in our bay. They had the oyster festival a few weeks ago after two years cancel due to covid. I heard it did not go well - too crowded not enough help. Thats the way it always was in the old venue. Too many drunks.
CC yikes that spider!! I have never seen such a thing outside of a zoo!. Lets hope they stay outside. Glad its cooled off. We are watching the tv show Hacks and they travel though Sedona and visit a psychic! I thought of you seeing those rock castles.
DD enjoy the next adventure phase.
Well we are busy fortifying the back yard. DH is out there with some kind of clippers doing lord knows what. All kinds of concrete blocks and wire to keep the escape artists in. Looking forward to the delivery of Dig Defence.
I found a ready made chicken curry casserole at the heath food store yesterday. Pretty good and I just have to heat up what is dished up. More adventures in not cooking.
The sun is out and it might be what passes for hot around here. I think I will cruise the studio since I did shopping yesterday. I need to go in for blood draw next week and the hard part is getting up and driving to the lab for 30 minutes without any coffee. Ick. Fortunately I know the nearest coffee stand. 1.5 blocks.
Cheers all. Diane S
Chicken curry casserole sounds tasty! Cooking one's own meals is overrated, LOL.

178 Yikes! And Phooey- Blaming this on a spontaneous little vacation taken this last week that, obviously, I thought suspended any kind of food monitoring. **** and Poop... a whole month down the tubes.
Rant over.
CC, your new home looks fantastic- I cannot get over the scenery. I poked around real estate in the area and certainly understand the floor to ceiling-wall to wall windows found everywhere. Enjoy.
DS#1 and lovely DIL stopped by today wondering if I would pull out my fabric stash and cobble up a quilt- a little quilt.... Hot dog, we're going to be grandparents!!! I had about given up on that one. Whoop!
Hope everyone is staying cool - enjoy summer wherever and whatever it may be. It is not over until it's over. Autumn has always felt more like the New Year than Jan 1st ever did (school new beginnings). Agree all the way with the unnatural-ness of school opening before Labor Day- just wrong.
