Can you spell MUGGY? But we are lucky that it isn't as brutally hot as some other parts of the country or even Boston. Our high today is expected to be 85.
Yesterday was busy but productive and enjoyable. We got everything done and enjoyed spending time with Mike's friends at the brewery and then mine for dinner. We would skip the brewery for the future though. Expensive beer and a convoluted way of getting it. It was a long day as we left at 8 am and weren't home until 9:30 pm. It gave me some insight into Mike's long drives home during our dating days. He would come out about 3 times a week, then do that long dark drive home at night.
The shingles and other supplies are purchased, the dumpster arrives today, the permit has been applied for, and the other supplies will be delivered tomorrow. They plan to do the roof either Saturday or Sunday depending on when it might be more shady.
Today my 2 SILs are coming for an afternoon visit and early dinner. Probably some beach involvement and an outdoor dinner.
One last thing for a laugh. DD works for an insurance agency these days and she wrote my homeowners policy. The company sent an inspector out last week to look at the house and she received the letter below referring to the "exotic animal" pictured below it. The underwriter got a big laugh. I guess when the inspector was in the house Lavender was hiding but he saw her in the window when he was outside. DS said he did mention that there was a cat on the premises but maybe this guy thought he saw something larger than life in that window??? LOL!
Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Whew! Been a busy last few weeks! Finally some time to check in with you all!
Dh and I had a good time at Lifest (3 day Christian concert held somewhat locally) and then had 4 days in Door County WI which was beautiful. Had a weekend at home to kayak and have Sunday dinner with all of the boys. I worked Monday and Tuesday and then left right after work on Tuesday to see my parents for a day and a half. Got Dad's hair cut (I'm getting pretty good with the trimmers) and took Mom to her annual MD appointment. Had my own annual today.
Weight loss efforts are still going pretty well. I splurged a little on vacation but even then didn't go over 1600 calories. Still need to pick up the activity levels.
That's great that you are losing weight while traveling.

Liz, so muggy here and in the low 90s the last 3 days. And LOL, that's a very pretty cat, but probably not an exotic pet! What on earth, that's so crazy.
Paula what a nice getaway, with a sampling of some of your favorite things.
Peps, lots going on! Did I miss you getting a definitive diagnosis for your Dad?
The last two days we helped my Aunt and Uncle pack. But holy moly, their air conditioner died! I've never sweat so much in my life. My Aunts office was 92 degrees! We packed books in 15 minute increments, and then went to the main floor, high 80s to "cool" down. DH drove them to Lowes to get a window air conditioner and put it in. They can't be sleeping in a room that's 90 degrees, even if it has a ceiling fan.
We've bought some second hand furniture for DD, and we're going to drive it to Boston tonight. It takes up the whole cargo area, so just DH and I will go, while DD writes a paper for her class on Saturday.

Stating at my friend's house on my last night, they don't leave the a/c on at night, but their bedroom is downstairs! I was upstairs and DYING. It was in the 90s that day. The sheets felt like they were radiating hot air. Soooo hard to sleep like that. Makes me think of our house when I was a kid and we didn't have a/c.
I had a very productive day. First, I slept great on sheets that smelled like my detergent. Then I was at the post office when they opened to try to fix my mail issue. Apparently the change of address was not enough. This area has an additional rural delivery form. Still not sure when my mail will arrive, but I am more hopeful than before the post office visit!
Then I went to the grocery store and bought healthy food as I had weighed myself this morning. Eek. Then a stop at Starbucks for an iced latte because I'm not perfect! Also made a trip to Ace Hardware for an inexpensive clothes drying rack. There is no need for using a dryer here! But I needed a place to hang dry now that I don't have my stairwell railing anymore. I did a load of laundry to test it out. It was dry in an hour.
Then I spent 5 hours changing addresses and canceling services. Everytime I think I'm getting close to being done, I think of another one. But it's all in a list on my phone, so hopefully when I move again, it'll be easier.
For dinner I made a nice salad with rotisserie chicken - I bought one and picked it into a container for the fridge. Easy and no cooking required on my part!
I still haven't put my stuff away. Maybe tomorrow.
Right now, I'm listening to thunder and watching bats swoop around outside...
You are there!!! Clothes drying outside in an hour boggles my mind.

Yes, this is no time to be without air conditioning!
