Still getting used to sleeping here. Getting the temperature right in the room at night is a challenge. I need it cool but don't like to be freezing.

I was looking at FB yesterday and saw a posting by a high school friend of a huge electronic advertisement with her way larger than life in Times Square. She is playing in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in NYC off broadway. Her accomplishments as an actress always amaze me though away from the stage she lives a regular life.

Food intake is so, so. I had problems with the half tuna wrap I ate at lunch - I think it was the excessive wrap that bothered me even though I stripped off a lot of it. Dinner was a half cheeseburger with sautéed peppers on it and an ear of corn, both of which sat much better. I think I will just eat tuna without the wrap for lunch today.

Tomorrow I will be late posting (if at all) as I am leaving early to go to the annual street fair in Falmouth with my SILs and nieces. It wasn't held the last two years so we are excited to go. The entire downtown is shut down to cars and filled with booths. Though it runs 9-5 it is busiest right at the beginning so we go early, park at the lot of a church on a back street and do lunch at one of the restaurants on the street at 11:30. We usually leave between 1 and 2.

In the interim today is beach again, including a beach walk with Justice in a little bit. But before that I need more coffee!

Good morning! Up a bit earlier thinking to get out and about with Swann -(county has finally mowed the easements along the roads up close to fence rows and we can hike the country roads again), but better still- big clouds and thunder storms threatening - whoop- and we need it. So it's coffee with the Bear.

Devon, it sounds as if you have a "seasonal house transformation" most of us do not get to experience! Puppy Season! Like Christmas- cleaning, rearranging furniture and making room for the decorations- a lot of work- but much joy to be experienced in the process. And just think; after the puppies leave and the season is over, you get to put all back the way it was! By the way- how do you decide where your puppies go?

Liz, what a gift- a sweet visit from your daughter. Every time her name comes up in remembrance of the loving touch she shared with others is Proof of the goodness that continues to be through her.

Diane, your upcoming clay event made me think of a teaching friend I had in Laredo years ago who harvested local clays (very gritty) and had his art students model and then open fired the clay in a similar fashion as was done in the area way back when. The objects came out somewhat fragile due to the lower temperature- I have one to this day that one kiddo left behind - "Enrique"

Even when rain is needed it isn't necessarily fun to deal with. Poor Justice is petrified by rain especially when windy though he doesn't mind thunder. Must have something to do with what he withstood when he was a stray?

You are absolutely right. It is always like a visit when I hear someone else's memories of Elise. The best gift ever!

Oh, I love the dinosaur that Enrique created!!!!! It is epic!

Busy day already! Just when I think I've given away everything there is to give, I open another cupboard, drawer, or cabinet I hadn't thought about. I have another full car to take this morning.

Today is my next to last trash day. The cans are FULL. And I still haven't gotten rid of food I can't take.

I have an appt Friday at 2:30 to pick up my keys in AZ. Then I come back for the packers. I called to confirm today and it's all set. Good I called, because the guy looked up my cul de sac on google maps and realized they needed to bring a smaller truck. That would have been ugly!

My dad is now in a regular room and improving. His wife said this will take a while for him to come back from. Poor guy. Getting older is not for sissies as he says.

Must get back to work. Take care all!

I am glad your Dad is improving and so true that being older makes everything more difficult to get through.

Miss 150, you wrote so beautifully about how a loved one visits us again. And Liz, your daughter's story moves me so much. We all have opportunities to lessen the suffering of others, she took those opportunities as her life's work.

CC, I am again overwhelmed by the thought of emptying a house! It makes me think of how I put away all the Christmas stuff, and then find some doo dad on a random shelf, except on a much, much bigger scale. If I can't even get the Christmas stuff back in their proper bins, how will I clean out a whole house? Luckily, I'm staying put for awhile.

Today is a quiet day. DS definitely has a virus. His fever came back at 100.2. If he still has a fever tomorrow, we will take him to urgent care. We have some Covid tests with us, he's sleeping again, but he said he'll use it tonight. He was able to cancel his flight with a $100 penalty. If he rebooks, the $100 goes towards a credit on the new ticket. So he just needs to rest and get better.

DH and I walked downtown to browse an antique store. Its 90 degrees. Strangely, we were the only ones out walking. There's a concert tonight, we will probably check that out.

I hope DS shakes this quickly. I will post what the young woman said about DD in TT on FB.

It's so overwhelming, but I think about how overwhelming it would be to be unpacking a lot od junk I no longer want! That keeps me going. Speaking of Christmas, I just made another run to Goodwill and they wouldn't take any Christmas stuff. He said they are just overrun with donations of all kinds. I Also took some really cool vintages glass sets to Assistance League. When the lady opened it she was so excited (they really were cool) a d said, are you sure you don't want to keep them. I laughed and said, the decision was hard enough to make, just take them and don't give me an out!

I also took 7 boxes to Salvation Army and 4 bags of unexpired pantry food and unopened household cleaners, bleach, and tissues (why did I buy so much tissue??) to the food bank and put stuff in three neighbor's trash cand after filling mine. I just feel like my stuff is multiplying when my back is turned!! I gave away a bulletin board and chalkboard yesterday and someone is coming for a rug tonight.

if I had this to do over again (and thinking ahead to after I move), I think taking one donation box or bag a week (or a month if things are really pared down) would be a good plan to keep it clutter free. Because I can see ending up back here if I don't work at it. The nice lady at Assistance League said whenever she works sorting at the shop, seeing other people so overwhelmed by their stuff compels her to go home and get rid of something.

You are certainly better off doing this on the front-end vs. when you unpack! I dread doing it at my Cape house though I am leaning toward selling it next year. Last time I moved from a larger house I got rid of everything via 3 methods: clothing via curb pickup by a local organization; junk company who took everything except what I had separated out in the basement and garage (I took the junk from closets and drawers and put the bags in those areas); free yard sale for everything left over. I think I would do it the same way again.
