It's such a fascinating subject! Also, they have given fecal implants from thin mice to fat mice and the fat mice lost weight, presumably from the better micro bacteria! WLS mechanisms are still being studied, but there is some thought that WLS changes your gut bacteria for the better. Maybe I got into trouble again because I let my good gut bacteria be overwhelmed again...

Will your Dad still go onto Mayo later for a follow up, or does this stent replacement take care of everything?

He'll go back later for the other tests they were going to do at the same time. I didn't realize he was in ICU. He called while I was away from my phone and in his message he sounds terrible and clearly was struggling to talk (for some reason he's also developed those horrific hiccups that put all hiccups to shame) so I told him to call me when he feels more like talking. I think they (Dad and his wife) know I worry and so they coat things in more matter of fact ways that don't relay the seriousness of it all. I guess he'll be there several more days. I hate knowing he's not well. I don't think I need to go, but ugh. Feels bad not being close.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear this. :( It's hard not to be with him. But if you are confident in his care, and what he needs is time to get better, your being there couldn't change much. My assumption is that visitors are still limited in most hospitals. Keep us updated.

Greetings kids

Guess I am the oldster here these days. So be it.

Sitting here with the second half of the protein drink on day two of my resolution. It seems like too big a serving to drink at one time. I remember from the early vsg days that a whole protein drink seemed impossible so I would only pour out two ounces at a time. I so remember struggling to get in 60 grams a day and resorted to some of those hideous protein "shots" just to get by. Time sure changes things but my sleeve is still present and on patrol. I am grateful for that.

Yes Liz enjoy the travels while you can. I always wanted to travel more when I was a working person but now I am like Bonnie and am happy to be a puttering home body. I think I would have to take drugs to go through a crowded airport again. Seems like the difference between age 65 and 70 is a big one.

Peps no wonder you are tired. 14 pups plus adult dogs. Five about did me in. But those pups are now in that super fun stage right? Enjoy.

We have been eating encilladas from Costco. Actually pretty good and full of chicken and beans and corn and not just unidentified glop.

My main activity today was scrubbing the carpet, including in the closet, where Tesla decided to barf on the carpet. Of course during the middle of the night. Not fun but its done.

We have gotten addicted to "Barry" and watched 4 of them last night. One season left. Its quirky and dark and funny all at once. My kind of show.

Well the dogs are orbiting so its that time of day. Cheers all.

I find those shakes rather filling, but I can get them down in one serving. I prefer to pour it over ice, and use a straw.

By and large, I am okay with my eating volume right now, but I am not doing well with protein at all. Need to be more careful. Thanks for the reminder.

I have also been trying to substitute some protein drinks when I am hungry. I do like the Fairlife ones and usually only drink 1/2 at a time as I find them very filling too.
