Good morning! No rain today (and we missed most of it yesterday), but it is a bit cloudy.
Yesterday we were able to see the first hour of the granddaughter's game though the days schedule got a bit messed up. We met friends for lunch in Providence (near where the baseball tournament was) at 1 and expected to be going to a 4 pm game. The game was rescheduled to 6:30 because of rain in that area earlier in the day. So we made a last minute decision to drive to Newport and walk around the Cliff Walk at the edge of the ocean and mansions. It turned out beautiful in the afternoon despite the dire weather predictions.
Today we have a cookout to go to at noon but in the meantime we need to pack for our next four days in Seattle visiting my brother. We are leaving the house at about 5:30 am tomorrow. It will be a LONG day!
Interesting discussion about feeling that we are on a diet because we are following good eating practices and having a subconscious expectation that we will be rewarded by weight loss. I definitely know that feeling and the disappointment I get when that doesn't happen. But maybe we are all impatient and it really might make a difference over a long period like a year? I have read articles saying that it you just remove "X" number of calories from your daily diet, you will lose 5-10 pounds in a year. But how would we ever really feel progress with frequent weighing at that pace???
Have a super Sunday!

Overcast here also. Today we have very relaxed plans. We are going to walk downtown and have brunch. Maybe a trip to Costco, because even on an adventure you need food and toilet paper.
I don't know if I'm kidding myself about how much I'm really eating, but I am feeling very peaceful with food. For example, yesterday, I ate ALL the lobster, but not all of the roll, and 2 fries. I'm eating foods that really satisfy me, but the portions aren't large. I'm not feeling lots of cravings, and I'm not having intrusive thoughts about food.
We're also joking that the crazy stairs are a diet aide. Last night I was feeling hungry and thought I could have a yogurt. But the stairs were too daunting, so I skipped it :)
Our plans for 4th of July are very low key. The Ipswich parade, which is apparently a bunch of kids decked out and waving flags goes right by my Aunt's house. We will walk over, have a light breakfast on their porch while we watch the parade, and then grill in the afternoon.
DH will no doubt go for a bike ride. He is really enjoying his used bike to cruise around and explore. It makes me happy. He has been semi retired for 2 weeks. I can't remember the last time he took two weeks in a row off. And he has many more ahead. Such luxury for both of us to not worry about his work schedule.
And you will join him in enjoying retirement at some point in the near future! Lucky that you have summers off.

I think I might have a taker for my elliptical machine on NextDoor. Lots of people backed out when they heard how big it is to move. Fingers crossed!
This morning I ordered a bunch of space bags to transport my clothes to AZ. I'm hoping to make it in one trip, so debulking especially heavier winter fleece and jackets might help free up room in my car.
I got the family room drawers and cupboards cleaned out and am making up a load to take to the hazardous and electronic waste place next week. Today I'm planning another pass through the kitchen for donations.
Only a high of 77 expected today. Gorgeous so far!
Food could be a lot better...
Greetings all
Oops.sorry to have missed yesterday. I had to visit the studio to take care of banking stuff. Then I went to pick up a prescription and found I had to drive to the CVS in a different town to pick it up. Only a mild annoyance as I have the time and what would have been about $10 in gasoline was a few pennies of electricity. I do love the electric car.
Just did some bill paying that I had to use paper checks for. Jeez I remember when I used to write out all the utilities and credit cards and such in a paper check and mail them off. On line bill paying is such a good thing. Actually thats what I was doing at the studio - getting on line bill pay set up and I had to help our staff because I am a signor on the account and staff is not.
DD I am trying to figure out the east coast sunset picture. Somehow facing west on the cape? There is a similar curve in the land out here so when you think you are facing north its actually to the west. Beach sunset anywhere rocks.
Trying to tidy up the house but it never ends. We watched a movie last night "Cha Cha" something. Kind of cute but not a must see. We have also been watching Dark Winds based on the characters in the Tony Hillerman mystery novels. They are doing a good job with it. Tribal police on the Navaho reservation in New Mexico.
Yeah losing or maintaining weight loss is not for the faint hearted. Very difficult and those who think otherwise are fooling themselves. Here is an idea for a new invention: a micro chip implanted under your tongue that tracks everything you eat and calculates nutrition. But then what? Sometimes I know what I am eating is unhealthy and unsuitable but do it anyway.
CC good luck with the elliptical. We still have a tread mill in our living room. Its the biggest obstacle to new flooring. Hope you get rid of yours CC.
Oh studio buddy is on the way over. Gotta go.

When we arrived at the restaurant, I was confused too. We're at the Atlantic coast, why can we see the sun setting? But yes, the shape of Cape Ann reaches out enough to give a westward view of the water. When I lived in Brazil, we never, of course, got sunsets over the Atlantic, but once I was lucky enough to see an almost full moon rise out of the water. Unforgettable.
