The last day of June: Wow does time fly! We have had perfect Cape weather most days over the last week. Today promises to be the same but we have a busy day from about 8 am to 8 pm.

Yesterday we went to Mike's house to meet with the sprinkler guy and go to the beach. It was absolutely phenomenal weather at the beach and so beautiful.

This weekend the major influx of summer visitors begins. We are wondering if it will be busier than usual. The Cape was close to usual in the summers of 2020 and 2021 as people chose to rent/stay here and work from home. And the restaurants had huge outdoor presences which people took advantage of. A lot of those restaurants have maintained that outdoor space so can seat more people than ever. Of course there is a staffing problem which might temper that a bit.

Time to drink more coffee and get moving. Justice needs a decent walk this morning before we leave for an extended time. I think DS will be gone for most of the day as well.

Have a thrilling Thursday!

Another busy day Liz!

Yesterday's kayak trip was amazing, and also a huge test of endurance. They told us the eater was low, so there was little current to help, and we might have to postage in some places. One of those places was ankle deep mud! We paddled pretty much non stop for over 5 hours! I'm sore, but not as sore as I thought I'd be. Some critters we saw: lots of egrets, a couple blue heron, a deer, vultures, and 3 pairs of swans.

We entertained my aunt and uncle in the party room in the barn last night. It was lovely with the twinkle lights and some Frank Sinatra playing in the background. The evening ended with a thunderstorm, and now, its beauty sunshine and a fresh breeze.

Time to get ready for some breakfast!

Water, water everywhere- lovely visions painted here- DD, what kind of shoes were you wearing when slogging thru the mud?

DH and I were out early with the Swann- the heat is back on and probably the last day of low humidity. The only good thing is that tall grasses and weeds will begin to dry and fall over giving greater access to fields and such for the dogglett.

I have all of nothing planned for the rest of the day- lots of time to jump into cleaning projects- windows, curtains, floors closets...

Alright, you've talked me out of it-

So, guess I'll amuse myself with a good book, a game or two of cribbage with DH and later will pretend to know what I'm doing with my watercolors.

I am thinking about thinking about what it will take to jump off the maintenance trail and move onto the weight loss Hwy

dang I lost the ability to go further on my post. Is it just me? (Probably). On screen keyboard typing sucks.

just to finish the thought- it is no good to begin until I'm willing to carry through with an eating plan. Right now feeling like it's all just posing good intentions.

I think the book, cribbage and art were the best choices.

Good afternoon friends. 2 mile hike with DH this morning, not enough to off set the Melting Pot fare planned for tonight but I've kept my calories low so far today. I'm sending DH out to get broasted chicken with all the fixings tonight while I'm at the MP. He has been craving that for months and it just isn't my thing. MP isn't his favorite so tonight will be a win, win while I socialize with my coworkers!

Broasted chicken is yummy! I've seen it in MI, but not other states I have spent time in. Must be a midwest thing!

I think it is! There was a place near me growing up called The Chicken Shack. It really was a little shack that only sold take out Broasted Chicken and sides. I'd forgotten until this moment how yummy it is.

I had to look up what broasted chicken was. Fried and pressure cooked at the same time? I don't fully understand what it would taste like.
