The deck and front porches are clean and the outdoor shower is done. I had my first shower outside yesterday afternoon! I love when I can start living outside here for the summer. This morning I want to finish cleaning the screen porch under the deck so all will be done. Hopefully my sore back (from yesterdays work) will hold out.

I think I mentioned that one SIL has breast cancer. It is a type that rarely spreads so although her first reaction was to have a mastectomy (against her doctor's advice), she has decided on a lumpectomy. She was supposed to be renting a house here on Cape Cod for 2 months but had to cut that to 1 month so she could have the surgery. The realtor charged her a 15% penalty per the contract even though they filled the rental within a couple of days for more than 15% above the amount my SIL was going to pay. She is livid, but they said the contract is the contract even though she has a health issue (and they aren't losing any money). What a bad business move IMO. I suppose in this market they can be as nasty as they want and not lose business, but really???

About 2 weeks before SIL has her surgery, DSD is also having a lumpectomy for a pre-cancer (she just turned 49). This is why we suffer through the boob squishing mammograms! DSD is super frightened as she has never had surgery before and suffers from anxiety. Hopefully her therapist and something like a tranquilizer pre-op will help.

Last night we had a cat/dog chase in the bedroom at 4:20 am complete with frantic barking and hissing. Apparently when we went to bed the cat was sleeping underneath it and she decided to perch in the window at some point. Justice must have heard or saw her at 4:20. Fun, fun!

Not much else in the works. Time to set up my nifty power-washer again. Have a fun Friday!

Sad about that realtor who could have released some good karma into the world, and didn't. Cut throat attitude. I feel for your daughter, I was terrified the first time I had general anesthesia, much more afraid of that then the recovery. Once I "survived" the first surgery, subsequent ones weren't so terrifying. I hope it goes smoothly for her.

We need to get going here, but are reluctant to leave our comfortable room. : ) We should be to Ipswich late afternoon/early evening.

Still hard to wrap my head around the fact DH has all summer to play! Looking forward to all the fun.

Enjoy Ipswich! I went to Cranes Beach in Ipswich years ago and all I remember is how cold the water was (it is much warmer on my part of Cape Cod). You will be near some beautiful places like Gloucester and Rockport. The weather in Massachusetts is supposed to be wonderful this weekend!

Your outdoor shower sounds absolutely divine! I remember as a kid visiting family in Florida and Nature's generous invitation to run outside and enjoy the warm, softened rain shower---not at all like Michigan when, even in summer, always unpleasantly cold, big, hard drops....

Lately, I've been at work putting together (found a huge, white, ceramic serving platter) a "studio" watercolor palette (sort of a Quiller knock off). I am making this an impossibly overwhelming experience--digging too many bunny trails; which of those trails should I begin with that the other bunnies will naturally follow? Any suggestions, Diane?

I like the idea of beginning the day with easy protein. HB eggs maybe. And back to 3 meals and small late evening snack. While it's easy for me to "fast" most of the day, once I do eat I to graze the rest of the day.

Off to renew driver's license- hoping for a better pic this time!

Hanging out having escaped the house for the cleaning people. Had Starbucks, went to Home Depot for some weirdly shaped lightbulbs for behind my house number light (It comes on when the sun goes down. 17 years of nighttime's the first bulb lasted. Not bad!). Came home and put those in, now I'm wasting time.

Knitting was nice last night. No one pulled out any knitting! Just gabbing and eating.

Not much else in my world today...

Greetings

watching a show on corporate greed pertaining To PGEstatus and the fire that killed 85 people a few years back. It was not far from us and was awful, power company is punished but costs come back to us,

we had Chinese take out for dinner, no rice, orange chicken and green beans plus an egg roll . Seemed like an. Ok dinner but I have not run numbers

saw a silhouette of myself in a light in the wall. Not cool.visible rolls of flab. Not pleased.

I am on the iPad so it's one finger typing. Should have more tomorrow and a visit from batgirl

cheers Diane s

My front is okay, but I hate the back fat.
