We are already on the beach at 8 am. The guys (including Mike) are doing the "pound-up" for another sand sculpture. It involves filling plastic forms with sand and water in layers and pounding it down so there is a large block of wet sand to carve on. The filling of large buckets from the ocean and bringing them up to the carve site is the most exhausting/difficult part and hard for our friend to do these days. So someone else usually does it now, meaning Mike today (or the sculptor's wife if no one else is available). My shoulders don't allow it anymore though I have done it in the past.

DD and her BF leave today. Today is the last day of travelers requiring a COVID test - theirs was negative so we will leave for the airport with them in about 90 minutes.

No other plans for the day though tomorrow we plan to snorkel.

Have a safe Saturday!

Ohh, snorkeling!! I haven't been since pre covid. Enjoy!!! I love it, feels like flying.

Today is blissfully nothing. I need to channel my inner Liz and get a decent list going for everything we need to do before we leave, and everything we need to pack for our great east coast adventure. The coming week is going to be busy, but happy busy I hope. I have to go buy a transponder so we don't have to dig around for change at tollways, getting a haircut, some plans to meet up with friends, and packing, packing, packing. I have to pack up stuff to bring to DD also.

DH doesn't work this weekend, it is his one scheduled weekend Off per month. But the tyranny of the schedule will soon no longer be our problem. He is going to work on Saturday the 18th, and then he is done until Labor Day. After Labor Day, he is going to work 15- 20 hours a week, in the mornings, week days only. When I think of plans for the coming year life feels so much more expansive with every weekend an option. It's a little scary to make these big milestone changes, but the time had come, and mostly I am excited.

Well one cup of tea done, time to get on with the nothing I am planning for today.

I felt the same when DH retired and again when I did but it is so great to have time to do things (OR nothing at times).

Today's sculpture (Mike did the water carrying but our other friends did the carving):

How sweet. Makes all the water toting worthwhile.

I got on the scale again. Still going the wrong direction and it is very obvious visually. It got me to walk this morning. It was hot and I am so out of shape! It doesn't take long at all does it? I notice it in my back muscles. They are so weak and I carry my weight up top, so I feel it. But I did it. Trying to be better with my food too.

Nothing else to report really... No rat activity last night.

Hope everyone is well!

Hooray for getting out there to walk. I think conditioning can slide pretty quickly, but it also surprises me how fast it can get better when you commit to it. I haven't been doing Arabic excessive for about 2weeks, and I felt weaker today when I was working in the yard. I need to follow your example.

Greetings all

We had some rain and an overcast day makes me even lazier than usual. I did some laundry today and sorted more papers. Amazing how much stuff in the mail. One company sent me about 15 pages of junk - an investment account from my mom's estate which shows a balance of 13 cents. I am not kidding. I would call them up and tell them to just forget about it but I dread the phone limbo that comes with calling a big bank.

Liz what a lovely sand sculpture. Do you stay to watch them wash away? Nice of Mike to haul the sand. I wondered how they got the sand together for a sculpture. I once took a class in concrete wet carving which I bet was like carving wet sand.

Peps you are rocking it at the dog shows as per TT. Love it. GL for Sunday.

CC perhaps Mr. Rat is camera shy. Maybe it has gained weight and does not want to be photographed. Plastic could be high calorie.

Old dog Chip did not want to eat tonight. Not sure what's up but he is fading.

DH leaves tomorrow. He has done no packing and no laundry. Oh well. Plane leaves mid day. This is the man who stayed up packing until 3 am when we had to be at the airport at 6am...

DD glad you had another relaxing day. May you have many more this summer.

Well I guess I will go try to hand feed old Chip.

Cheers all.

I can't believe how much ridiculous paper I get from my IRAs and 401b. I just want to know what the value is, and a few other things that can fit on one page.

Poor Chip. It sounds like he is winding down. Hugs/company might be what he wants most these days.
