Just another day in paradise. We are sitting on the patio watching the line of people getting COVID tested prior to their flight back to the US tomorrow. What a pain! Though it does add some money to the economy here. I wouldn't have a problem with the testing if the same occurred for domestic flights because I would bet there are more people flying with COVID within the US than those coming back from Aruba. Yes, they get some positives but not many. But if we want to go home, we have to deal with this process. Because we are flying on a Friday vs the usual Saturday when most everyone else flies, we will get tested in our room early next Thursday (so a bit less painful than standing in line here). DD and her BF have their appointment this afternoon to wait in line.

Our friend did make his first sculpture yesterday (pics below). As usual, many people were thrilled to see it. Time to get my bathing suit on. Have a fun Friday (Last day DD?)!

OMG! We just heard that the US is lifting the COVID testing requirement for international travel! We can fly home without testing!!!! Unfortunately since DD and BF leave tomorrow they still have to test today.

Super busy here with pups, life and a dog show weekend. Have been keeping up, if not posting regularly.

However, it's pretty much same old, same old here.

Shirley, went to the Dead Fish last night. Thought of you and John.

On camera the rat was nosing at the bait trap, but he didn't go in. I can be patient.

Today I have two FaceTime walk throughs of potential rentals. Exciting. I also need to call the movers.

Still have a headache and didn't sleep well last night.

Hope everyone is well!

I think we're in a new era, there is Covid everywhere, but thanks to vaccines, mutations and treatments, it's not as deadly for the general population. I just assume now, wherever I am, there's Covid. Too many people are asymptomatic, or continue testing negative even if they're probably positive, or are contagious before they actually know they're sick. So, while I was super careful at the onset, I no longer see a reason for testing to enter the U.S. I feel like getting what is, hopefully, a more mild version is inevitable. And getting it probably more than once. I know several teachers who have tested positive twice since January, with negative tests in between. Anyway, I hope I'm right, but will adjust my behavior and attitude if new information arrives.

I finished up everything I needed to do in my classroom, and was home by 11:00 am. There is construction starting in the academic wing, so we've been told we cannot go back to our rooms. Ha, you don't have to tell me twice.

I can't believe this is the 3rd school year that had Covid disruptions. I'm hoping we will never be required to mask up again.

Tonight we are going out to dinner with friends, then to a musical, 12 Angry Men. I wi**** could be something a little more frothy, but this is what our season tickets entail. I know it will be well performed, and well staged.

Tomorrow, no specific p!ans. We ate hoping no all day rain so we can take the kayaks out. Maybe I'll do a bit more yard clean up.

Viva summer and all it brings!

Having an evil thought as I saw a wretched squirrel glance at my flowers, would rat bait boxes work on squirrels? Possibly not legal in my area... Poisoning squirrels I mean...

Ooh, I don't know. The ones the pest guy out out were big enough for a squirrel and had an exit. The ones I bought at HD are smaller and one way in and out. I don't think a squirrel could manage this one.

Greetings all

Thank you thank you CC for the link on making font bigger on my MAC. It worked! Easy to understand instructions and I don't know if I ever would have figured it out. Instructions that I tried to use were TOO SMALL TO READ!! So I got your link up on may iPad and did it. Nice.

And I still suggest the have-a-heart trap for squirrels. you do have to pick it up and take it somewhere but I was glad to do that. Put some peanut butter in the rat traps too.

OMG its actually hot here. We have the ceiling fan on. Gives me an overwhelming desire for a root beer float. Fortunately we have no a and w or dairy queen here.

I took a load to the thrift store today. Pants I am too fat for. At least they are not in the closet mocking me "try to get your ass into these ha ha ha". Talking pants would be as bad as those talking scales that yell out your weight and then editorialize.

I got a pile of organic asparagus. Tastes great. There is indeed a difference on some things. Methinks when DH is gone I will eat mostly vegetables because I like them and he doesn't.

Not much else. I steamed some ground chicken for the dogs yesterday. It smells odd. Its not spoiled - just odd. I don't think I could ever eat that.

Tuna salad on crackers. If I could ditch the crackers....

Liz so glad the covid tests are done for the flights. I think i mentioned my friends who went to canada got quarantined and then taken across the border in a bus.

Cheers. Diane S
