No Cucucunucu bus for DD last night. A close friend of DD died suddenly. DD had been concerned because she knew her friend had gone into the hospital late last week for tests to determine the cause of her anemia. She had been unable to reach her by phone or to reach the woman's daughters. We don't really know exactly what happened. The friend was only 62 and a fun-loving, kind, animal loving person. One of her causes was dog rescues from Aruba so I just applied to transport one when I come home in her memory. Just so sad and shocking.

Today we will take DD and her BF to the High Rise area so they can go on a sailing ride this evening. I am glad she is still keeping that one on the agenda. Not much else to report.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

How tragic for your daughter's friend. Goodness, the older I get the younger 62 sounds...

I have updated TT with video evidence of the sprinkler line perp. It is indeed a RAT. I apologize to the squirrel for besmirching his character (though I still think he's up to no good) and will be putting out rat bait boxes.

Last night I filled out all the sale paperwork (that's an exercise in making you feel stupid and like you could have signed your soul away and won't have a clue until Satan himself comes to escort you "home" on your last day!) and need to get a few things notarized either today or tomorrow. My real estate agent has left me be for a few days. I wonder when the fixing will begin? I should probably call...

Anyway, best get to it...

So have you and the proposed buyers reached agreement on the necessary fixes? Or is that discussion still to be had?

Still to be had. Seems weird to not push that forward as I don't have much time.

Perhaps it is very minimal and therefore the attitude is lackadaisical. Works for me, and I'm sticking to it!

We don't have a lot of rats in this area. But I did see some by DD's garbage cans in Boston. So now I need to know, what happens in a rat bait box? Does it kill them? Do you throw the box away? Because maybe we should get some for DD.

So bait boxes have a hole for the rats to run through but the box includes tasty bait which is poisoned with something that kills them via their nervous system (different from the old warfarin that makes them bleed). So they eat it, leave the box, and go off and die someplace else. But the boxes are locked so pets and children shouldn't be able to get at the poison inside. Hopefully you never get to see the rat when it's dead.

Edit: this is what I bought (it was $8, not $18, so not sure what the issue with their site is) https://www.homedepot.com/p/TOMCAT-Rat-and-Mouse-Killer-Child-and-Dog-Resistant-Refillable-Station-1-Station-with-15-Baits-037091005/300934102

Liz, sorry to hear about your daughter's friend. And yes, 62 seems young. DH just turned 62 in April. In watching older family and friends, it seems the years between 60 and 80 can be some of the best years, if you have the good fortune of decent health. Such a shame to have those years cut short.

Tomorrow is the last day with students. Some I will miss greatly, and others , well, I probably won't forget them for awhile.

Our son was working in Minneapolis for a few days, so he spent 2 nights with us. Still amazing to me that he is grown and thriving in his profession.

I'm not doing much about healthy eating this week. Its always this way the last week of school. I did make a pile of roasted veggies yestetday, but they were all eaten up very quickly, so no leftovers today. What looks like way more veggies than we can possibly eat gets a lot smaller after roasting.

Greetings all

I am still exploring this new computer. Print is too dang small. I expand the page and its just a bigger white space with still small print. Yeah I need to go fool with settings but last time I did that I accidentally made a corporate tax form my wallpaper.

Liz so sorry for your DD's friend. Sudden death of a fairly youngish person is never easy. Hope the cause is found. Lack of timely medical care is a terrible thing and I am afraid is more common than we like to admit. Locally the hospital is having lots of issues with mentally ill people who are violent in the ER. Very sad.

Dinner tonight will be leftovers from DH lunch at a mexican restaurant. Yay for me. I think I could subsist on Mexican food alone.

So CC, it is indeed a rat!! Hope it takes the bait. And I too am sure the squirrel is up to no good. I have seen them taunt dogs for the sheer delight. And do other bad things too long for me to type.

I stopped at the thrift s tore to donate but they were not taking clothes today. So the basket of too small pants remains in the trunk. If I have to I can take it to the bigger store in the big city when I go for scrabble next week.

not much else. I wish this computer came with a written manual. I am tired of trying to make it work by trial and error. I would not want a car or hairdryer that works that way.
