Today is my eldest daughter's 49th birthday. That makes me feel OLD!

Last night we went to a wonderful little restaurant near the high rises. The couple who owns it used to run the restaurant at our resort but had a disagreement with a sister who was a majority partner in that venture so started their own business about 5 or so years ago. And they have really made it a resounding success. Great ambiance, service and food. Nice evening with DD and her BF.

Tonight the kids are on their own taking a party bus that I was on twice before so DD didn't go alone. Thank goodness I don't have to go! Close friends are arriving today so I will pick them up at the airport. Time to take a walk on the beach.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Good Morning All :)

Another cold and wet morning but its hump day :) I am the lone ranger again today but my boss should be back tommorrow. Though he may not love the ever growing to do list I have in the calendars ha ha ha

Had a nice night with DSS, his partner and the grandbabies. Lots of cuddles. They loved the soup DH made and the watermelon for dessert. It was a nice night. I was ready to go to bed by 9pm though. Its been a big week.

Today should be ok, I am just plodding. Calling in to see a friend on the way home for a cuppa so looking forward to that. Then it will be home to cook dinner, tame the washing and do more then fingers crossed for an early night. DH and I have to review the house plans and add any changes so they can then be costed so thats progress.

I had best go make a start. Have a lovely day all

Love to see you posting, and hearing about your family and your plans for the farm.

Just had a nice lunch with one of my good friends. She said she has bladder cancer. Another person I love with bladder cancer! She said her sister had it, they took out the tumor and she was fine. She's hoping the same for herself, but the earliest she can get her surgical biopsy scheduled is August 28th. She's with Kaiser. My mom always said they were great when you weren't really sick, but not so much when you were. I was encouraging her to make some noise and see if she can get in earlier. She's in pain and shouldn't have to wait 2.5 months to do something about it. And here I was fretting when my dad had to wait 3 weeks... Worried for her.

Aside from that, I'm in a lull between moving storms, so trying to revel in it. I need to go buy some rat poison stations as I am pretty certain what ran past my camera last night was a rat. So rats, squirrels... some varmint is doing damage and neither are welcome.

Hope everyone is well. Love to you all!

There has to be a better way to get health care! I hope your friend gets proper treatment sooner than later.

Greetings all

I am sitting here with my brand new iMac. Used for the first time today. The screen is bigger but I swear its pinching the letters smaller. And it was not easy to get into this group as I used to have shortcuts and that's trashed. But it is faster and will likely be more stable over time. We shall see.

Scrabble today. I could not win. I would get ahead and then get blasted. good thing these people are fun.

One thing about scrabble day is I don't eat breakfast and then that encourages me to look for drive through food for lunch. Not a good plan. Today I just skipped but came home hungry mid afternoon.

The gallery is still arguing about the return policy! 25 people and about 200 opinions. Geez.

Ham tonight. I will shuffle through the freezer to find some vegetables from this century.

Yeah CC, I bet your culprit is a rat. I don't think squirrels come out at night. But I am sure that squirrel has done something evil somehow. Sorry your friend has cancer and that her health plan is being non responsive.

Liz yay for escaping the party bus. That sounds awful. The restaurant you describe sounds much better.

Time to fix dog dinners and drink wine. Dogs don't get any.

I am with you, that squirrel is up to no good, even if it is not the sprinkler culprit. Squirrel = evil, it's just who they are.

Hi all,

Really a lot of the same old, same old for me. I'm tired (and a bit cranky) as is par for the course lately. I am feeling like next week is the week that vacation really begins. Ha! The first two weeks have been all about catch up with this or that. 4 of the 7 days I've been out for summer have been spent at school or on school business.

I am watching the news and the topic is "How bad do the gas prices have to get for people to severely limit their driving?" Guess what? They are already high enough here to severely limit my driving! I'm pretty sure GOAT v2.0 will not be going more than a 2 hour one way trek, if that, this summer. Ferndale is out. I can't afford $7.50 per gallon for Diesel!

Off to work out....
