I hope everyone has a restful Sunday! I am planning on it after 10 hours of solid sleep last night.
All travel was smooth yesterday and the same for DD and her BF. As expected they were at the bar here after we arrived and checked in. We spent a couple of hours with them, then they went to bed (they were up at 3 am yesterday) and we went to get a great veggie pizza which we have half of to eat at lunches. We do have a substitute room which is one of the redone rooms. It is very pretty but it is much further from the water than mine is. Oh well...
Time to finish my first cup of coffee and go get breakfast. The other items on the agenda today are going food shopping (we eat most breakfasts and lunches at the room), taking a long beach walk and going somewhere to dinner with DD and her BF.
Have a great day!

The camera took longer to charge than I could stay awake, so that will have to go in tonight. Hope he doesn't try to eat my camera! It's white plastic like the caps. Some chewing last night, but I think the cayenne stopped him.
No plans today, but I might walk with my friend.
Liz, enjoy Aruba! Sounds lovely.
When we're on vacation for more than a few days, we like to try and eat out once a day too. Eating out all the time makes it less special. Enjoy the warmth and sunshine.
The wedding was so lovely. My niece is the youngest of 6, all of her siblings were in the wedding. During Communion, they all quietly walked back to the choir loft, and sang the communion hymn together. It was a surprise for the bride, and just so moving. I hadn't seen them move, because I was kneeling and praying, and then I recognized my oldest niece's voice and turned around to see them all. My favorite moment of the day. Maybe because it was the youngest, or maybe because neither of my kids were able to be there, or maybe because I can see the passage of time in the faces of my family, but I did feel a little melancholy too. I thought about all the times I had sat in this church, for baptisms, and first communions, and confirmations, and the parade of little faces passed through my mind.
The reception was fun too, but then a few people had too much to drink, and any melancholy was replaced by irritation. My least favorite thing in the whole world, making fun of other people: what are they wearing or how they're dancing or their tattoos etc, and we are seated together, sigh. One, it's boring. Two, it's mean. Once dinner service was done, I was able to flee. Beyond that, it was a great time and seeing my niece so happy was so wonderful.
Time this morning to read the paper and we'll probably meet up with a few people for a late lunch. Then 4 more days with students. And then break.
Almost time for summer break! Yeah!
What a shame that such a moving wedding should be marred by meanness at the reception. I am sure your niece enjoyed every moment though and didn't have to be subjected to that aspect.

Greetings all
Another sleepy overcast day It makes me want to nap. Instead I am washing towels, trying to tidy up and playing on line scrabble. I tell myself if I get certain chores done I get to play a game or two. Or six.
Pot pie for tonight again. Then its ham. Tomorrow is kiln opening and then an afternoon at the gallery. At least I will be able to pick up new stuff from the kiln to add it to my gallery display.
DD glad the wedding was fun even if you had some bad actors at the reception table. Seems like weddings these days go on and on. But so nice that you got to see family and all the kids grown up.
I am plotting and planning for when DH takes his trip. I just cruised through our closet and made a mental list of where to put stuff. I have now decided to give the marble topped table to the thrift store rather than try to sell it. They will come pick it up - or so the web site says.
Soon I must stop ostriching and revisit the world of weight loss and healthy eating. Seems like weight issues occupy about 75% of my brain. Think how dangerous I would be if all that brain power went to something external. We have all faced some regain and I am beginning to wonder if its inevitable and unavoidable or if normal weight is really possible. Dr. Cirangle had convinced me that it was and indeed it was for awhile. I think its that I don't have the energy any more to read every food label, pre count every calorie and make the effort to choke down more protein. My excuse is that I am old but there are far more energetic old people than me. Oh well, further contemplation will occur.
Liz I so love those caribbean blue waters. Makes me want to jump right in. I cant remember the last time I did ocean swimming as its too cold here. Enjoy.
CC a pox on the squirrel. I may have told you about my grandfather and his bird feeder. He had a big one outside his window and loved to watch birds. He also hated the squirrels because they chased birds away. So he put a metal pie pan in the bird feeder and hot wired it. The wire ran to his house and right to his easy chair which had a little executioner style switch. When the squirrels were in the pan they got zapped! Not killing but enough to make them stay away. I thought it was so funny as a kid. Now I get it. Probably not a good idea to hot wire your irrigation system but just imagine...
Not much else. How many towels can two people use in a week?

Happy decluttering days coming your way. Some experts believe decluttering our surroundings can make it easier to declutter our eating. It makes some sense to me.
Regain... I have so many thoughts. The higher your initial weight, the greater your metabolic disorder is what I think. So I was 296, I think we can say 300 pounds. That wasn't just from lack of willpower. I've got some metabolic issues going on, as we all do, since obesity is a chronic disease. Still don't know what the answers are to beating regain back, but I am amazed at how our tribe members keep fighting.
I actually do believe that about decluttering and weight loss. I think both are moves towards gaining control over an issue that has slipped and distressed us.

Good Morning All
Its Monday already here and Im back at work....... Boss is on sick leave after his medical procedure and I have just sent one of the guys home ill. So I am the last person standing this morning! Great start to the week.
On a more positive note - I am finally feeling a lot better. The last of the congestion is mostly gone. My nose is so sore and irritated from constantly being blown but that too will heal.
Our weekend was busy, I largely had the grandsons on my own as DH was busy with the butcher. I helped DH give the calves their booster shots after breakfast (the boys watched on from my Mule vehicle) I took them shopping to get a small gift/gifts for their mum and some visiting. We then came home and they made a card for her. We baked a huge tray of brownies. Then visited more family before I brought them home for an early dinner, showers and we (boys and I) curled up in our bed to watch a movie. It was bliss. DH had a dinner. They had a great weekend but boy are they high energy boys! It wasnt helped by all the rain so they couldnt get out and run off the energy. Sunday morning, I helped the boys decorate the brownies and sliced them ready to bring home. Their mum was so happy. She had a lovely birthday :)
DH, DS and I are heading to see Top Gun tonight. I will go buy tickets on the way home. We will eat out before it starts so I have another night off cooking. Yay. Not a lot else to report, I am head down bum up as us Aussies say.
Liz - Aruba sounds just perfect. I hope you have a wonderful trip x
Cec - Grrr to those squirrels! Thats all you need. We have similar here with possums. Hope you can them to move on sooner rather than later
DD- So glad you had a wonderful time at your nieces wedding. Sounds like a lovely day and sorry ppl had to ruin it by getting drunk.... Never nice
Diane S - Hope the kiln opening is fruitful. My best friend pots and I share her excitement when there is a kiln opening. It just amazes me the beautiful work that you clever and very talented ppl produce. I am in awe. She still gets cross at me as I have kept every piece shes ever made me - its part of a beautiful journey though she would gladly have me throw out the earlier stuff ha ha ha
Peps - Thinking of you as you no doubt have your hands full. Hope you are managing some rest
Well I had best keep on going.... Its going to be a long day indeed
