It is 5 am here and in 11 hours we should be sitting on a warm beach in Aruba. Though I only had 7 hours in bed last night I actually slept so I feel pretty good. We are leaving for the airport in an hour.

I am looking forward to the next installment of CC's home sale. I am sure it will all work out, but there is always stress and second thoughts until everything is completed.

I shall report back!

Have a safe Saturday!

Cold and overcast. I could use Liz's beaches in Aruba.

Last night we went out to dinner with DH's siblings and my BFF. The waitress was a former student of mine, who graduated with my son, and knew my daughter. She was so sweet, and happy to see me. It was a good reminder despite the chaos of Friday, there is a reason to be a teacher.

DH's brother and wife came over to our house after dinner, and stayed until 11:30pm. Luckily, we were able to sleep in, so I think I'm ready for all the festivities today.

CC, I join you in loathing squirrels. Do you think they are trying to get to your water? Or just in love with the particular plastic in your irrigation system. I read some plastics are made with soybean oil, and it attracts them. Ammonia makes sense, we have a product that supposedly smells like fox urine. Probably just the ammonia smell, it did seem to discourage them from chewing on our chairs.

I think it's for the water, but your theory sounds very plausible too. I have a birdbath and a fountain full of water, so there's no shortage in the yard. Or he could drink from the drip system when it's running. He's just a jerk!

Greetings all

Serious rain going on. I went to the studio earlier today and saw a fire burning by an overpass. Lots of smoke and visible flames. I called it in but they already were on the way. Looked like a transient person's fire. It was near the university so its a good thing the ground is damp and its raining now.

Hmm, ammonia for the squirrel. Sounds like a plan. I still favor the traps as a bad squirrel comes back. Hope your offer is shaping up CC.

BBQ sandwich last night. Very filling. I was still stuffed at bedtime. What they say about dense protein is true. I wish there was some dense protein that looked and tasted exactly like a soda cracker. Or a potato chip.

The studio was busy today which it often is in rainy weather. Its all good.

Pot pie again tonight. I bought a nice looking hunk of ham at Target yesterday and that will be dinner tomorrow.

Peps are you out there? Hoping you are just busy and you and pups are ok.

Safe travels Liz. Is Aruba where all the sand sculpting is? They used to have a contest out here as a fund raiser but our sand is sort of grey so its not as pretty.

DD have a great weekend of R and R. Is school all finished? Hope you have some great summer plans whi*****lude serious loafing.

DH goes on his trip June 12. I am plotting....

My friend does sand sculpting here for us to enjoy but there is no competition. He arrives Tuesday and will be here through the remainder of our stay.

The squirrel was unbothered by the ammonia and chewed through both new caps I put on yesterday. I think I may arrange for his demise Monday. In the meantime, I resprayed them with ammonia and sprinkled with cayenne pepper. I also have an outdoor camera here I've never used that I'm charging so I can catch him in the act and put out a wanted poster (kidding, just want to make sure it's not a rat or something).

I had a nice day at my friend's retirement lunch. It was a gorgeous day at a beautiful place.

When I got home I got a call from a different real estate agent I contacted yesterday. She seems great and is going to help me in my rental search and then home purchase down the line. She's solely a buyer's agent, doesn't list homes. She has a team of two other agents and one of those is going to help me too. And I got an email reply back from the movers. They too can do my move (I wasn't sure as they moved my dad in another county) and will get in touch Monday.

The buyers came today to look at the inspection list. Haven't heard anything. I have nothing scheduled tomorrow and I can't wait!

Take care all!

Yep get rid of that squirrel as you see fit. I think I shot one as kid. My grandparents regularly shot and ate them, I remember the squirrel being skinned prepared and eaten- a bit by me. Yuk, they are cute but so are rats. I still suggest traps and moving them where they won't come back. Hope it all resolves even if bludgeoning is required. I actually once stomped a gopher in our yard never thinking I would get him.he was then flopping around so I has chip dispatch him. Cc if you had a terrier squirrels would leave. Our gophers did,

gl with the sale.

Yep, that squirrel's days are numbered. And good news that you found a responsive realtor in Sedona.
