VSG Maintenance Group

We should be almost at the airport this time tomorrow morning! Wouldn't it be terrible if the flight were cancelled? DD and her BF just checked in for their flight (they are leaving earlier than we are).
So today is a few last minute errands, packing, and having dinner with SIL and DS. We had a nice visit with my newer SIL's on Mike's side last night. The food wasn't great so I didn't eat much. I do feel like VSG has at least taught me not to bother filling up on food that isn't worth eating.
Early to bed tonight as I have been awake since 2:20 am. Good old pre-trip insomnia.
Time to get my act together. Have a fantastic Friday!

Its a beautiful day and I would love to take a short nap on the porch, but house guest is here, and started telling me about her day. I am now in my bedroom, because I have talked a lot today, and problem solved and made decisions. I need to be quiet for a bit before we go out to dinner with my in laws.
It was the seniors last day, so many pranks today, some funny, but others very much not. They broke the elevator in the academic wing, which is hugely problematic for our disabled students. The other elevator is in a different wing that only has 2 floors. If they need to go to the first floor in the academic wing, they have to go outside and down a sidewalk and enter first floor from there, and likewise if they want to leave the first floor. And why stink bombs? If you let stink bombs go in the hallway, haven't you pranked yourself, because you have to smell it too?
So it sure is peaceful here in my bedroom. :)
Good for you retreating for a break. Enjoy the peace and quiet!

Inspection was yesterday. My realtor said it was "minor and typical". I'm tired of fixing things. Did I mention the exploded drip irrigation line that happened after the inspector left? I looked closer at the cap that blew out and it wasn'****er pressure, it was the f-ing squirrel again! So I went to HD and tried to eyeball the part I needed and went too big (dumb not to take the broken one with me). So I went back and got the right one. In the meantime, I called my pest guy to see if he would murder the squirrel, but he suggested since I was at HD anyway to get ammonia and spray it on the line. It should keep him away. I prefer murder. So I'm spraying the line and come across ANOTHER chewed cap millimeters from blowing too. So back to HD for anther cap. Sigh.
I'm just tired period. The new owners want to come back tomorrow to pore over the inspection items for themselves. But of course it's 2 hours before I have to leave for a lunch, so I have to twiddle my thumbs in a parking lot somewhere waiting for my lunch group.
The guy is a lawyer. Somehow that makes me more nervous about what he's going to push to fix. Like my fountain is one inch deeper than the "pool" definition boundary which requires a self closing gate. Only my gate to the backyard is really tight wood, and sticky, so no way it will self close. It takes an adult to lean on it. I don't want to replace the gate. Apparently I have some broken roof tiles (maybe the painters). And the tub shower diverters don't work right. And, and, and.
And I still haven't found a rental or a real estate agent willing to help me with that. I'm stressed. And eating. And getting fatter.
Deceased DH was a lawyer. He was actually more understanding than most because he saw so many real estate transactions and he knew what was important or not. So maybe this guy will be like that...

I sure hope so! I guess he was fixating on the tub diverters not completely diverting water (happens when they aren't frequently used). My agent said to me, it's literally not worth his hourly rate to spend this much time talking and worrying about something that can be fixed. He's hoping their agent can manage them. Who knows what their buyer just put them through though. Sometimes they like to pass along the pain... "Well, WE had to do X, Y, and Z..." I told Greg I was running out of steam. He said he'd help coordinate a lot of it.
Greetings all
Cloudy here today. We went to lunch at a BBQ place with friends. I got a tri tip sandwich. Great meat and sauce. I brought half of it home. Somehow, that tired me out for the day so I am doing laundry. Cloudy days are energy sucks.
CC don't be afraid of the lawyer buyer. Your realtor is right that lawyers understand what is important and what is not worth worrying about. That is certainly what I did when I bought and sold houses. It helps if your buyer is not a poor person who cant afford a small repair. I remember my first house I made a down payment of $1,800 and it was most of my life savings. Seems so quaint now. Meanwhile make the realtor help with the fixes since they get a healthy commission.
And murdering squirrels might be a healthy activity!! I think I told you I caught my menacing squirrel in a humane trap and took it far away. But I had the thought: who do I hate so I can dump this evil squirrel in their yard? But I released it in a park. You could do that too. I baited the trap with peanut butter and a pecan.
DD enjoy your down time. Hope you get more of it. I hear you on needing a break from guests. Listening is hard work.
Well time to fix the dog dinners.
Cheers. Diane S
