June already! And 3 days to Aruba! I think DD who is coming with her BF is more excited than we are. Though I have started setting aside what to pack I haven't really gotten serious yet. But the list is the most important item and I feel like it covers everything. It is just the clothing choices that will be difficult. And reminding myself not to take too much!

Everything is finalized on the plans for the wedding celebration party except final counts/payments. It looks like about 50 people right now which is about what we wanted.

Food intake has been so-so. Not overboard but I am not going to lose anything. Luckily I generally don't gain in Aruba because I walk a lot and snack less.

Time to take Justice for his now annual teeth cleaning. Poor guy: I hope he doesn't have to have any pulled like last year. We also have to go out to Mike's place today to run some errands. The Ex is supposed to be moving out by the end of the month for the summer. We will see how that goes.

Another offer! This one is $150k over asking. We are still following through with the first one as this guy hasn't even seen the house in person (his agent took a video of it). My agent said offers like that tend to have a high rate of falling through unlike the one we've already started escrow with (plus, I think it would lack honor to drop the first people for money I'll lose nearly half of anyway to taxes. You accept, you follow through). It's nice to be wanted though! My house listing is now labeled as "contingent".

Today my friend's husband is coming to pick up the things she left with me when she stayed here. And I have therapy.

I had a run to Home Depot yesterday for carbon monoxide detectors (now code in CA, but wasn't when my house was built), a magnetic spring-loaded latch for an attic access door that someone broke during my open house, and a gas fireplace key that somehow disappeared sometime in the last 16 years. Small things, but stuff that won't now end up on the inspection report. Changing the latch was easy and very satisfying for $2.50.

What is the proposed closing date?

He hasn't told me the exact date yet, but escrow is 21 days. (Just not sure where they are counting from) I can stay for a month rent free. They want to be in by the end of July for the start of the school year. So 51 days total maybe from yesterday or today?

Wow! After all that work, things move fast!

CC, I think you made just the right decision about going through with the first offer. How exciting!

Liz, I bet your DD is excited! Vacation hits differently when you're working! And even better when you can stay in your Mom's place. :)

I played hooky today. I assessed whether or not the students could spare me, and would it inconvenience anyone else too much. I'm so glad I did, everything seems to have gone fine without me, and I got a lot done here. Decided not to feel guilty because they are always talking about self care, and my boss has flat out said, you can take mental health days.

DH and I cleaned DD's room/ a guest room. Holy moley, what a mess. She is super organized at work, but her home office and bedroom are always a mess. She is trying phentermine for weight loss, but she says it has no impact on her, she doesn't really feel any different. It makes me wonder if she has ADHD. When I tried that stuff, it had me crawling up the walls.

Anyhow, digging through the piles of clothes and empty Amazon boxes gave me little time to snack so far today.

Possibly going to get a pedicure this evening if they have openings. Checking things off my list, because the weekend will be busy with family and my niece's wedding.

DD is actually renting another unit. She will be with us at the same resort but not the same unit - best for all! I know what you mean about the excitement of vacations when you are working. I feel a letdown when I leave Florida for the season and the same when I leave Cape Cod even though I am just going to another "vacationlike" spot. I think it is the remnants of feeling sad when vacation was ending when I was working LOL.

Good for you taking a mental health day. You deserve it!

Update on Justice teeth cleaning: He did well and didn't need any extractions this time (vs last year when quite a few had to be pulled). He is just a little goofy with the remnants of anesthesia.
