The sun is out and it is 68 degrees at 9 am. We are hoping it will be a real beach day so are heading out in an hour or so. Tomorrow and possibly Tuesday might be beach days as well, though I think the remainder of the week will not. Just as well since we need to pack for Aruba.

We had a good, early dinner at an Italian place downtown last night. The prices at restaurants have sure risen a LOT this year. Afterwards we visited with SIL, her son, his wife, and my thoroughly adorable 19 month old grand-nephew. Nice evening.

Not much else to report. My house is still a clutter-filled mess due to DS taking over every room. I am not sure it is worth spending much time on since we will be in Aruba for 2 weeks, then at Mike's Cape Cod place most of July and August. It really doesn't feel much like my home anymore except in my bedroom and the sunroom. Though in the latter there has been damage done to my furniture due to the cat (scratching upholstery) and DS' many houseplants (leaking water on wood tables). Sigh... Thus was supposed to be my quiet retirement home but instead my 31 year old DS has made it his own.

Time to get some stuff done. Have a super Sunday!

Liz, It is kind of aggravating to hear what is happening to your home. DS has a pretty sweet deal, even adults who work their whole life can't afford a house on Cape Cod, and here he is, living the dream, that you worked your whole life to obtain.Hmm... I suppose that's one more big life decision to make, will your house or Mikes house become your Massachusetts home? Or maybe a house you buy together?

Rainy morning here, but it may dry out and I can work on the flower planting some more. Yesterday I started reading a great novel, Madly, Truly, Guilty by the same author who wrote Big Little Lies. I have about another hour left. So that's next.I also finished Lincoln Road. I would recommend both (they are different types of stories, but both compelling).

My niece is getting married next weekend, I have suitable dresses to choose from, but I wanted to have something with more wow! Regain is my nemesis.

Ooh, that feeling Liz of someone messing up your home is terrible! I felt it on a small scale yesterday. The open house had a steady stream of visitors and I came home to microscopic glitter embedded in my couch and a fountain full of gravel. Clearly people brought kids and did not supervise. So I had to hang over the edge of the fountain and one by one pick out the gravel from the bottom and out from the filter intakes they'd been sucked into. I was pissed (and got soaked) to say the least.

I told the real estate agent I am very ready for this part to be over. 4 more appointment showings so far today. More light switches and lamps on and off and on and off, hiding my shampoo and dirty laundry and towels and wastebaskets. He expects all offers to be in by Tuesday so no more open houses.

When we got to within 10 minutes of the open house yesterday, the fill-in real estate not-quite-agent-hence-couldn't-let-herself-in-with-the-lockbox was 20 minutes late, I was 20 minutes late to leave for lunch reservations 40 minutes away and there were 3 parties lined up at the door knocking wanting to know if they could come in. She strode in at 1:01. Irritating. So while the experts are giving doom and gloom reports about the real estate markets plunging, the plunge hasn't started here. I want to know who let their kid throw rocks in my fountain...they can't have my house!

Food has not been good. I feel yucky and puffy and uncomfortable in my clothes.

Peps, can you delay jury duty? In my county you get one free I can't make it round. But they throw you back in the pool to be picked again. Glad your puppies are growing! Is it a momma milk problem or a puppy problem? Just wondering if you will be able to turn the feeding responsibilities back to momma or is this your job until they start on gruel.

I love shade gardens, DD! Probably because we have so little shade here. Such a respite from the blazing sun and heat.

I should probably go hide my dirty clothes... sigh.

DD, I was reading an article about school this morning and it was talking about the stuff teachers have to deal with and it mentioned TikTok challenges like "smack your teacher". I was thinking maybe that's What that kid with the vicious high five was doing?

I didn't see anybody filming, but who knows. 14 year olds do so many, for lack of a better word, stupid things. Most of the time, I love their energy, but there are always a couple kids that go too far with everything. 8 more student contact days....

Sorry for the third post, but I got my first offer! 100k over asking. Nuts! We're going to wait until Wednesday to give the others he told we would review then a chance to get theirs in. I don't need more money, but who knows if any of the terms might be better. Although these are good!

Awesome news! You will be sitting at a closing table soon! Then will it be off to Sedona to look for a place, or off to Michigan?

Sedona first to rent something and start to get established from a residency perspective then to Michigan... scary! But an adventure!

Greetings all

Yay CC, a house offer! First offer is often the best. Go for it. And hopefully its not the kids-who-throw-rocks family. Its amazing how people act at a house showing. I have heard there are people who come to open houses and steal drugs from medicine cabinets! And having the house ready to show must be like expecting guests all day every day. Hope this all concludes soon.

Peps yeah can you see about getting out of jury duty? Need to provide child care? You need a break. I admit I accidentally blew off jury duty last fall. I got another summons this spring and because I am age 70 I went in on line and told them I was too decrepit. I have shown up many many times for duty so I am done.

Gallery duty yesterday. A new member was in for training. She is very sharp and fun and I didn't need to teach much. And my studio buddy came by. After closing we went across the street to the winery. Such an adorable little place. Good wine on a cold rainy day. There was a town arts event last night and lots of people were around. I did not stay but looks like we sold lots.

Shrimp for dinner tonight and maybe zucchini.

My friend who was going to come visit is now having complications with her hip surgery and won't be coming. I am sorry for her illness but relieved at not entertaining.

Well the laundry won't do itself. Cheers all. Hug them pups Peps. Diane S
