The politicians are already talking about compromising on any form of gun control measures. I am saddened but not surprised.

Mike, DS, and I just had a nice breakfast out (and a nice dinner together last night). They are getting along well thank goodness. Yesterday we finalized our menu, etc. at the restaurant. Mike had never seen the function room though he had been at the restaurant so he was very pleased. It is the top level of the building with glass and a wraparound deck all around right on the harbor. We have the entire floor so can use the decks and the room also has a large bar and dance floor. Here are a few pictures:

Time to start getting ready for Aruba since we leave in 8 days. I decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a couple of pairs of shorts in the next size up (Yikes!). Of course since I had put it off I had to order them vs buying at the store and had to pay extra to have them shipped via an expedited way (shipping can still be erratic around here especially if through USPS).

Not much else going on. Have a full Friday!

Things have been a bit rough here the past few days. Dottie's pups have not been easy. We lost 2. The remaining 3 seem to be taking hold, but I am bottle feeding to supplement mama's milk every 2 hours around the clock. There is definitely a reason people have babies while still young!

Other than being really tired and happy that today was the last day of the school year, not much else to report.

I'm so sorry about the puppies! Broken sleep like that is iincredibly exhausting. Are you able to trade off with Ron or is it all on you?

Oh, that's sad news about the puppies. Thank heavens school is done as you take on round the clock feedings.

So sorry about the puppies. That must break your heart, adding to your exhaustion.

Very awesome venue!! And Liz, I know the reluctance to buy bigger sizes, but in the end, we all look better in clothes that fit.

It is glorious here!!! I am practically giddy with anticipation for the weekend. The time to put some bedding plants into the ground has arrived. DH and I are sitting on the porch, I'm going to clean out one flower bed in a moment. Some of the perennials are peeking out.

Not much else is going on here. Happy weekend everyone!!

One showing today, my house got cleaned, and I walked with my friend. As someone who doesn't like leaving lights on in rooms I'm not in, this showing business makes me twitchy! I counted (because I'm obsessive) and found I turned on 34 light switches and 15 lamps. But I think it will get easier after next week. My agent said 2 offers so far are being written and he expects several more by Tuesday. We can choose Wednesday. Tomorrow is the open house and there are 3 showings Sunday. That's a lot of lights left on!

My remaining task for today is to fill out the disclosure form. My least favorite house selling task. When I escape the open house tomorrow, I'm heading to Long Beach to have lunch with a friend and hang out.

Liz the location looks fantastic. Good luck with all the feeding Peps. And happy planting, DD! Take care all...

Greetings all

Its a foggy day here. Big surprise as we live in the fog zone.

Liz what a great party venue! It will be glorious. And so glad DS is getting into things. Nice.

Peps so sorry for the lost puppies. Feeding the others must be exhausting. A friend of mine once had to do that for 9 bloodhound puppies since the dam had mastitis. She said never again. Glad the others are thriving. Rest when you can.

Buying shorts and pants is and always has been my worst nightmare. So hate it. But Aruba is a good cause. Wishing you much fun.

CC any more house action?

DH brought home costco shrimp so that will be dinner tomorrow. Pot pie tonight. My favorite recipe: turn on oven, insert pie, wait 30 minutes, eat.

DD glad you are having a good day. The first bedding plants of the season are always exciting. Its so nice how they sell things in bloom these days. The rhododendrum and azaleas are positively astounding this year. Seems like they are popping up all over the place where one never knew there was a flowering shrub. Just look like crappy bushes the rest of the year. There is one freeway rest stop that has a ton of them and I think I will go out of my way to visit that spot this year. Its a forest of lavender blooms.

Time to make dog dinner.

Cheers. Diane S

Spring is so beautiful: the green leaves, the surprising flowering bushes, the sound of the birds.
