We need another regular east coaster so you don't have to see my posts first most of the time!

Gray day, but we have to go out to Mike's place for a bit today anyway. Oh and meet with the cake person for our wedding celebration in mid-August. I want a beachy cake and I have started thing about centerpieces. I wasn't going to do much about that, but then I started thinking... The current thought is glass cylinders filled with sand, seaglass, shells, starfish, and flameless candles on a round mirror (with some more shells on it). If I could get some cute lanterns the right size for the right money I might do that instead of the glass cylinder/sand/seaglass ID. Maybe an Etsy search?

Diane S, I agree that cooking stinks. But I might get what I need to make my crustless pizza. It will do at least a couple of meals and it is low-carb, easy to make, and tasty. I feel like I need to make somewhat more effort, LOL.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Apparently 'tis the season for home sprucing around here. My neighbors directly behind me have painters powerwashing their house today. I'm having flashbacks... I wonder if they plan to sell too? It's my floor plan as was the one that just sold over asking price (there are three models, this one is the biggest). Before that, it's been a long while since one of our development's houses was up for sale.

Tomorrow is the broker's showing. Do they do those in your necks of the woods? Basically a Wednesday open house for agents to see new homes on the market. After it ends at 1, two different parties have asked to see it. So I need to vacate from 11-2. Maybe I'll catch a movie. The other Open House is Saturday from 1-4. Then by appointment only after that. I'm having those feelings of change resistance and the accompanying anxiety, wondering if am I doing the right thing, but I think I am, it's just scary and big.

I stepped on the scale this morning and eek. What am I doing???? It needs to stop. The eating out and treats, the stress eating. And I need to walk.

That's it for me. I think I'm going to go scrape out and reapply a little caulking from the shower before I get dressed...

I would imagine it is scary and also exciting. The good news is you always have your place in Michigan, so you are not cutting ties with everything you know. Worst case scenario, after an adventure in Sedona, you discover that you actually love southern California and you end up moving back! Seems unlikely, but if you did want to, you could.

In our area the brokers open houses are on Tuesdays.

Liz, both your center piece ideas sound like they could work. There are floating flameless candles if you want to do any water type glass vases. We have them to float in our hot tub, from Amazon of course.

Yesterday a student asked me for a high five. I raised my hand and he smacked it as hard as he could. He's a baseball player so that would be pretty hard. When I said, what the heck , what are you doing, he said, sorry, sorry. I thought about it for awhile, and have reported it to his dean. In almost 20 years of teaching at a high school, I have admittedly been called some bad names, but no student has ever caused me physical pain, on purpose or accidentally. My husband asked me if he did it on purpose, or is he just stupid. I would say he is stupid enough, in the way 14 year old boys can be stupid, to do it on purpose. And he's not one of my special ed kids, he's a general education student. Anyhow, the dean was not pleased, and will be meeting with him. What happens after that is up to her.

I am struggling to eat my protein this week. I KNOW I feel better when I do. For 2 months I've been proving this to myself. I like many protein foods, so what's the problem? Why do we, as smart human beings, engage in behaviors that are counter to what's good for us?

Nice day today, I think I should go putz in the yard a bit, a little fresh air and sunshine would do me good. Dusk is lasting until 9:30 pm these days, so there is light to be enjoyed.

Isn't that a question for the ages!

Why do we, as smart human beings, engage in behaviors that are counter to what's good for us?

Because in the short term those behaviors offer big reward - whether we recognize it intellectually or not.

Liz, crust less pizza recipe? Could you share it please. I'm running low on ideas for tasty low carb things.

Here is the basic recipe: https://kalynskitchen.com/low-carb-deconstructed-pizza-casse role/

I always triple the tomatoes and add green peppers. I use more mushrooms than in the recipe and use turkey sausage and pepperoni. This time I am also adding some onion and roasted red peppers.

Greetings all

$%^&#@$#@@(&*%# another school shooting and its elementary kids. I can hardly stand to hear about it. What is wrong with our society?? This makes me so sad and crazy. And our government will do nothing. Sick sick sick.

I have no idea why this posted in bold letters but works for me.

Off to feed the dogs and roast vegetables.
