I took a look at the Trinidad Art Gallery website. A very cool place! I can see it being an good place to hang out at to meet interesting people.
Yesterday was such a gray, drizzly day there really wasn't much to do. No lengthy outside walks so we all got a bit bored. We did leave in the late afternoon to meet Mike's sisters for dinner and that was enjoyable.
Today the weather should improve and we have things to do anyway. A vet appointment in the am, a meeting with my financial advisor this afternoon and meeting friends for a show tonight off the Cape. Luckily our timing should allow us to miss the worst of the traffic at the bridge. It is supposed to be super hot inland this weekend which means there will be a lot of people using the bridges late today and Sunday to get on and off the Cape. Summer traffic patterns start early on warm weekends.
I am still not eating like I am trying to lose weight and I haven't attempted looking at the scale but I did put on some pants from the fall which have very little stretch and they fit. So hopefully I am still staying stable (I was as of 2/1, the last time I weighed). We were very active while in Arizona in February but not so much in the Florida Keys in March or since then.
Have a fantastic Friday!

I just want one morning to sleep until I wake up! I see no path toward that for a while.
Painters are finishing today, I am supposed to call into two back to back interviews for the board I'm on at 8 and 9.
Real estate pictures are being taken Monday, broker open house Wednesday, and regular open house Saturday. Eek!
Yesterday I started on cleaning my closet and shifting the socks and undies shelf to a drawer in the armoire in my room. This required a culling of stuff I no longer wear. Then came the culling of a giant trash bag full of clothes I don't wear and a trash bag of shoes I don't wear. So that and a bag of trash made for a good dent. I also cleaned out the laundry room - clothes and towels on the top of the washer and dryer, the open shelf with paper goods and light bulbs, and all the detritus that gathers on the counter in there. Then a good scrubbing with a magic eraser as those are corian-like countertops that get mystery black marks on them that are only removed by a magic eraser.
After my calls, I need to carry on with my room and do the craft room which will be my last stand I least want to tackle.
I'm also supposed do a walk through with the painter to look for areas to touch up and meet up with a friend to buy a retirement gift for a mutual friend's retirement brunch tomorrow. Any ideas? She Is a school nurse.
I am tired! Food choices could be a lot better, but volume is still good and my sleeve stops me from eating everything I want. Small victories...
I'm trying to imagine actually moving out of my house... Will you have things shipped to Michigan, or put in storage until you buy your Arizona house?
It's old school, but I always love a gift card from Barnes and Noble. What a pleasant way to start , in my case, summer, in hers retirement, then browsing books that you can pick up and look at.

I'm still chewing on that question... I might rent something in Sedona when my house sells and get on establishing residency there rather than doing that in MI and then redoing it in AZ in a few months (I can still go to MI, but this would get me started on things like estimated taxes, health insurance, car registration etc). With renting, I can still decide if I like it or not before buying.
No surprise that you are tired! Though one advantage of moving is that it forces one to clean out all the "stuff" we all hang onto but shouldn't.

Barnes and Noble card is good if a "real" book reader (Mike prefers printed books). I only read on a kindle so an Amazon card works better for me.

I have piles of books! It's one of my indulgences, I just love a real book. I'll read on my Kindle too, but it just doesn't hit me the same as holding a book. There's something called flow, where you're so involved in what you're doing, everything else recedes. Kindle designers tried to recreate the sense of flow one gets from a book (the designer referred to a book as a most elegant design, I loved that!) and got close. But for me it's not quite the same. On the other hand, nothing beats a kindle for lighting!
It definitely took me a while to prefer it over a book but the lighting as well as the compact design work so much better for mr that a real book feels unwieldy.

Greetings all
A sunny but very windy day here. There is a wild fire south in Mendocino county, a very woodsy place and they are evacuating. So this stuff is starting already.
Not much new. My friends who were going to come visit but changed plans have now rescheduled. I have told them I am making motel reservations since my house is a very disorderly dog kennel. I hope they understand.
CC when we moved halfway across the country 20 years ago, for months I had the disabled vets come every Friday to pick up stuff. I also made I don't know how many trips to the salvation army thrift box. In the midwest charities were eager to have that stuff but out here no such luck. They are picky. Good luck with your plans. Renting in Sedona might be a good plan.
I had a good time at the studio this afternoon glazing stuff and chatting with other members. It really is a hand out for retired people.
Another night of pizza here so no healthy eating. Years ago I used to get those little eat-rite pizzas from somewhere. They were good. Anybody try the cauliflower crust pizza? I got a frozen one once but it was over garlic-ed.
And I have begun the official search for a junk remover. DH is in denial that we need it.
Well, off to cook dogs dinner. My main culinary achievement these days.
