That made me smile to read that DD xx
You have what a lot of people search for their whole lives. True Love and happiness - to me that makes you the richest of all. I have seen people that to have "everything" materially yet they are empty as its stuff at the end of the day. Making memories and spending time with those we love is our greatest gift I think. Thats how I view my treasured time with my precious family and friends.
Just my two cents
Hi everyone, good day at school, but I need some of the let's get this place shaped up mojo.
DH is back from Boston, and wasn't feeling so well, so he took a Covid test: positive! More and more, I'm thinking I had Covid the week leading up to Mothers Day, despite my many negative tests. Several people at work were sick around that time, with similar symptoms and tested positive. Id like to think i had it, and now have refreshed antibodies, but I'll never know for sure. A friend who is an infectious disease doctor said the at home tests can't really rule out Covid, they can just rule in Covid if you test positive.
Only 2 more Mondays of this school year. Yeah! As always, I am really looking forward to summer break.
Interesting discussion about what we value. Besides my wedding ring, I have no jewelry of value. As tight as money has been up until the last few years, I would have been horrified if my husband came with a substantial piece of jewelry. Not that I wouldn't want a big ole diamond tennis bracelet, but too many othet things would have to be sacrificed. We've never bought a brand new car, or a set of bedroom furniture, or living room set etc, I've always pieced stuff together. I've never owned a Coach bag, (although I might now if I see one I like) or even Gold Toe socks (except that one time they were on clearance, and I'm here to say, they're really nice!) But I have always, always traveled. Some trips were really on a limited budget (and also really fun). I know other people probably thought we had more money than we did, because of the trips. If I have to choose, I choose a trip. The other luxury I choose, that others could consider a big waste: a beautiful craft ****tail. It seems like such a splurge. On a big night, maybe one at dinner, and then a night cap!!! I feel so spoiled by this. My feeling has always been, if you've met your obligations, if your mortgage is paid, and your family well cared for, then spend your money on what makes you happy.
Greetings All
Sky is clear today unlike last night for the eclipse. Hope some of you saw it. Our skies cleared up yesterday afternoon and I thought we would be lucky but the fog rolled back in. I looked but nothing to be seen. Rats.
Liz Mike's ex sounds like a gem (not). Some people just think someone else will always look after them. She may delude herself into thinking Mike is wealthier so she justifies her use. She will likely never change so all you can do is protect against it. Sounds like Mike is done with it too. Yay.
Puppy quarters Peps! What fun. Can't wait to see the little ones.
I just took a covid test and its negative. I feel fine but one of our scrabble people is sick so I thought I would test before I go tomorrow. I really don't get out and about enough to feel like I could be sick but I guess it just takes one. Studio people re mostly older so all are careful.
Beyond that I picked up payroll and tried to check some on line stuff for
I love how we talk about what is important to us: what we value. We obviously value puppies and peace and caring about one another and ourselves. I think that makes us pretty healthy in the long run.

Good Morning All
Popping in again - Brrrrr Winter is just around the corner and Im not ready :(
Had my Flu Shot last Wednesday as I do every year and boy did it set me back on my butt ! Ive never had a reaction but I had to take Thursday off work. I felt dreadful. Back at work Friday but didnt drive the 3.5 hours up to the farm. I thankfully was feeling a lot better by Saturday morning so set off at 6am for Farm. It was a good weekend. DH and I pottered and got lots achieved. It was also a great opportunity to really talk things out and I am happy to say things are a lot better. Im back wearing my rings - he got them out of the safe and went down on one knee to put them back on my finger. Its taken a lot of time and talking but I think he has a better understanding as to how much he hurt me. We have decided on fortnightly date nights and he is working hard to make needed changes.
Liz - Mikes ex sounds like a leech - sorry no filter but that's the word that comes to mind. I couldn't imagine every relying on my ex husband in that manner - I always stood on my own two feet as a single mum. Sorry you had to be subjected to that.
Cec - Your house is going to sell in a minute. All this work and care into presenting it at its absolute best. You are doing a fabulous job
DD - Sorry DH has Covid :( I hope he feels better soon. I am yet to catch it - though not sure how I have avoided it thus far....
Peps - So exciting with 2 litters due. I cant wait to see pictures. You are so organised :)
Diane S - Glad you are a negative for Covid - fingers crossed you stay that way
Well I had best go tackle the mountain of work that awaits me. My boss couldnt have his cortizone injection yesterday as they failed to advise you cant have any vax 2 weeks beforehand. He had the flu shot the same day as me ! So it was a scramble to re-schedule and then change his accomodation. He was taking 4 days off sick as he needs to not use his shoulder after the shot. So plus side is - hes around to help me finalise this final Tender submission. Always look for the positives
Have a lovely evening all
S
Good to hear that DH is working hard to win you back. Marriage does take work and treating your partner the way they should and want to be treated is critical.
Yes, my DH's ex is a leech, but of course doesn't see it that way. She thinks it is his responsibility for the "family's sake" to take care of her.
