The painting rages on...
As if the banging of ladders and paint sprayers wasn't stressful enough, now every window in the house is covered in non-see-through plastic! Cue the claustrophobia. But it's looking good, so I'm happy thus far and I'm taking breaks away from the house to decompress.
I cleaned some more stuff out today (kitchen desk drawers and the open cubbies above it) and got a week's reprieve for photography and listing as the painting will stretch into next week.
I think you all have gotten the clue that my home is my safe bolt hole and strangers in it make me antsy. But I also understand the need for human dignity so when the painters asked if they could use one of my bathrooms, what was I going to say other than okay? (for future reference I know to ask long term workers to order a porta-potty and bill me) So they come in and out throughout the garage people door rather than having to ask me. But one guy has missed his calling as a cat burglar, because even though I can see the bathroom door from my family room, I never know he's inside until I hear the flush. I don't hear any doors open or close, I don't hear light switches, I don't hear him using it, nothing. Scares the bejeezus out of me! And as a camel of a person who rarely has to go, I am bewildered by the frequency of their needs. Ugh. I am basically an intolerant, judgey curmudgeon hidden by a thin veneer of a nice, easy going person.
Anyway, wishing you all well!
I also hate strangers in my home and especially using my bathroom. Yuck!

Better late than never ........ Flying past at 2pm Friday afternoon. I honestly dont know what happened to the day and I havent achieved anywhere near enough but .......
I had my Flu Shot Wednesday after work - my director had his at the same time. He is a little tired but boy did I get tumbled ! Could be coincidence but I was achy, headachy and just yuk by Wednesday evening. I didnt come into work yesterday.... My first day off in the year I had been with the company. I had to drag myself in today as I had a tender to submit. I could cheerfully curl up under my desk but there is way too much to do... My boss did my performance review and gave me a very generous raise and I have a bonus coming at the end of financial year. I have always prided myself in putting in 110% and this job is no different. I love my job - no 2 days are the same and it keeps me on my toes. It so nice to be recognised for that.
I am supposed to drive to the farm tonight but Im not sure if I will - its nearly 3.5 hrs driving. DH is already up there. I may sleep early tonight then make the drive first thing tommorrow
Great to catch up with everyones news.

Congratulations on the raise and bonus!! Well deserved it sounds like! Boo on the flu shot reaction. I would love to come to Australia sometime in the near future! I could really spend my life avoiding hot weather just going back and forth to the Southern Hemisphere. This plan merits fleshing out...
Congratulations on the raise! Great that they recognize you for your efforts.
