In 4 days we will be on the move. But now I am getting worried about Mike. He has been sick for a week now and seems worse rather than better. He had a slight fever yesterday and slept about 14 hours out of the last 24. I hope he can get in to see his doctor. Whatever he has must not be terribly contagious or I already had it because I don't have a hint of anything (fingers crossed that it doesn't change).

Not much else going on. We were supposed to go to a reception at the clubhouse tonight but that may not happen. Other than that maybe a little beach time depending on Mike's possible doctor visit.

Have a safe and healthy Friday.

We just got back from the doctor after taking another COVID test (still negative). He thinks Mike has the flu with sinusitis as a complication so he is starting an antibiotic and is supposed to see him again if not improved by Monday.

Our doctor often provided antibiotics in situations like Mike's. Sometimes you need a boost or support to finally fight off what started as a virus, and is now becoming an infection. I hope he feels better soon.

I am feeling better today, after much sleep. Still congested, but not really coughing.

I think I can do some paperwork, and a few other small tasks today. It's good to ease back into things.

Never any rest for the wicked, it seems.... LOL.... Ah, heck, let's be honest, if I wasn't busy, I wouldn't know what to do with myself!

Yesterday was a full day at school, followed by the district retirement tea, home to breathe for a bit then took a call from a prospective puppy buyer that lasted 90 minutes. I worked on Dottie's maternity trim the entire time. We ate dinner of salad and sandwiches at about 9 pm.

Teacher appreciation week here at school. F the ability to navigate the food fest that has lasted 4 days. They just wheeled a goodie bag cart filled with chocolates and pastries around to each classroom. OMG! My "willpower" is spent.

I am at a place of feeling (again) that all the work I do may be beneficial for self awareness and acceptance of myself and my weight, but it sure isn't doing much to help me actually lose weight. Oh, well..... life goes on and overall, I'm a pretty happy camper.

Sure hope Mike starts feeling better. Secondary infections suck. They can sure make a virus seem never ending. At least, if a secondary infection is really the culprit, the antibiotics will kick in and he should be feeling better even as early as this evening!

Glad you are also feeling a bit better DD. Having what sounds to be the same thing as you, just be prepared for a long haul on congestion and coughing. I'm pretty sure CC and I have the same bug that is all over the west coast. I feel fine, but the cough and snot is a pain in the azzzzz!

Teacher appreciation week is so difficult to navigate. If you like sweets, nobody has the willpower to resist the barrage of treats well meaning parent groups provide. I know its going to happen every year, maybe next year I'll try to low carb the week before in preparation for the onslaught.

20 days on and I'm still coughing! In my current mental food state I would have snatched that cart from the pushers, dragged it into my classroom and locked the door to eat it all myself.

Any chance you have a sinus infection? One of the signs is a persistent cough (from sinus drainage). I used to get them a lot and sometimes that was the main symptom.

Girls night for 4 at the movies and dinner last night. We saw The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent with Nicholas Cage. It's slightly weird, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very funny!

I got on the scale today and yikes. I feel out of control and the scale reflects that. Must reign myself in.

I'm working on cleaning out the garage today...

We enjoyed that movie too! I loved Nicholas Cage and his willingness to poke fun at himself and movie genres. I like how it also showed us that we want the cliches, because, in the end, you get a satisfying story.

Yes! He was such a good sport about his role. And I loved the friendship that developed. I'm still giggling at "It's... grotesque. Can I buy it for $20,000?"
