VSG Maintenance Group

It is rainy here - makes it kind of difficult to entertain friends. We are likely going out to lunch at a nearby town and maybe cooking some grouper here for dinner.
Four days until the house closing. We are driving there mid-day tomorrow. Sunday we are visiting with some area friends and Monday we are going to Anna Maria Island for the day to check it out as Mike is renting a 6 bedroom house there for his family at Thanksgiving this year. Tuesday I sign everything away at 10 am, then we return here for our last week before we go north.
In the meantime we are contemplating booking an 18 day cruise in Tahiti for our honeymoon n April. Lots of money but it would be a memorable trip.
Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Tahiti would indeed be memorable. You should go for it!
Peps, I have dreams of an RV, but much smaller, we're thinking a Class C. Is it the fancy bells and whistles or the larger size in general? I think about boats, inboard motor , so slick, makes for nice sightlines, on boarding platform, but so ooo finicky. Outboard motor, not as upscale or visually appealing, much more solid performance. I grew up with camping trailers, I think of them as the outboard motor, not as upscale. But maybe less finicky?
I am numb to the weather, figuratively and literally. In April, we are all starving for warmth and some sun. This April delivered very little of either. But here comes May, so here comes more hope. It could be one of those light switch years where it goes from 40s to 80s the same week.
School was crazy today. Yesterday there was a Friday vibe, even though it was Thursday. Today was Friday vibe on steroids. Dance parties in the stairwells, kids yelling and cheering, other kids breaking down over tests, (one kid turned in a test to me with the word failure written across it) ... I had students in tears, and students who looked manic. I always say about teaching: I can't say I never get aggravated, because I do sometimes, but I never get bored. And that is worth a lot.
My son is here with his high school buddy. I have a lasagna baking, A favorite of both "boys" (heavens, they're 26 years old!) And I'm looking forward to it too. The protein experiment continues, and I feel pretty good. Still really enjoying the fairlife caramel protein shakes. Of all the protein shakes I've ever tried, and there have been many, I like these the best.
Not sure what my plans are tomorrow. Sunday I have lunch with my Controversy Club. Our topic is Bitcoin and other crypto currency. I have a few articles I need to read. It will be an especially good topic for me, because I know nothing about it.
Greetings all
The magic hour of the day is approaching. Dog feeding time. Old Chip is starting the STARE.
We went out to lunch today with friends. It was nice. I have not done that in quite awhile. We went to a Chinese buffet. Its been there for years and used to be a busy place with a huge selection. Its way scaled down for covid now and you go through a line like a grade school cafeteria and point to whatever you want and then pay by weight. Hardly anybody in there and its kind of sad. But it was fun to catch up with these friends - mainly talk of who is the most decrepit of our circle.
So outside the restaurant I saw one of the strangest looking people I have ever seen in Humboldt county (which is pretty high on the weird scale). Some person wearing a napoleon style hat, platinum pony tail of some sort, red toga/cape, leather buckled sleeves, and fringed soft leather boots like Daniel Boone. We could not stop staring!!
Going out for lunch forced me to take a nap. Then on to laundry and thats the day. The studio is having a pottery sale starting today so its not a good day to go there. No where to park. Plus I work at the sale Sunday.
Liz Tahiti sounds good. Go for it. I have a friend here who actually lived there when she was a kid. She said she had a conversation with Marlon Brando there. This was probably 60 years ago.
CC hope you are feeling better.
Peps I saw that snake picture on FB! Holy cow, what did you do? I am not especially afraid of snakes but rattlers terrify me. And yeah I have always wondered how much work it would take to maintain a motor home. Sounds like lots. Maybe a big van would be better.
DD what a day at school! Where do these kids get the energy? So sad for the kid who turned in his paper written as failure. Where do you start with such a student? They are lucky to have you - a person who cares.
Time to feed dogs. They will get what's left of the meatloaf.
