I'm back after a busy day with our friends. Another one coming up. Yesterday we took a ride going north on the coast and today we are going south. The husband had a stroke 30 years ago and has had some recent health problems so that somewhat limits our excursions.

DD's comments on regain after WLS were interesting. I gained back about 25% I think. Mike is a big guy but I believe he always has been. He is only about 4 pounds up from his lowest for the last 20 years and his doctor immediately offered an appetite suppressant. I'm not sure that offering pharmaceutical assistance was appropriate without a discussion first? But I wouldn't mind having that discussion with mine. However, I wonder if there are any these days that don't raise one's blood pressure which I have been battling for a long time.

Off to get ready for the day. The closing is firmly set for Tuesday am now. Weird to have that book closing.

Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

I texted son earlier this week because he an a high school friend are coming for the weekend, a and I wanted to know when they were arriving. No answer. I texted this afternoon and it turns out they're arriving at 6pm TONIGHT!!! I thought I had all evening to tidy. Guess not. Better get to it, more later.

Thanks! It will be very nice to see him, and his buddy. When my kids grew up and moved out, I missed their friends too. So many nice, smart, funny kids have come through our door. We were lucky that they both had awesome friends.

Greetings all

A shamefully sunny nice day here. Feels like summer. I spent some time at the studio and then made yet another trip to the grocery store.

So more controversy brewing at the gallery. This one member, "M", is constantly nit picking about dumb stuff and wasting everyones time. She has managed to really annoy our treasurer, who does loads of important and uncompensated work keeping our books and paying bills, by arguing about dumb stuff. She wants to rewrite our by laws, change our cash handling system (which works great as it is) and establishing a no returns policy. She believes someone would purchase one of her paintings, take it home and have a party, then return the painting for a refund. Seriously? So we have daily cash sales envelopes and I have now been given the task of providing new ones because the old ones are tattered. How will that make people count the cash more accurately? This kind of stuff drives me nuts. People who don't know what they are talking about complaining about those who do. I think our treasurer is close to resigning. I will do what I can to ward this off but must plan a strategy. Gives my legal mind something to do even though its just a big tempest in a teapot.

Appetite drugs Liz! I am not sure what is out there now. What I need is an anti carb drug! Years ago I took that fen phen combination but it messed with bp so I had to quit. But it made me not want to eat anything and I could not even force healthy food down. There is some new prescription thing advertised on tv now but they say its not a drug. I bet it is some fiber thing.

Glad you had fun at the zoo CC. What a great place. If anyone is in the midwest, know that the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha is spectacular. Its huge - bigger than San Diego. Everyone in Omaha who is rich tries to give the zoo the biggest new thing so it has astonishing exhibits. Take care of that sunburn! Aloe for you!

Chicken for dinner tonight which I will actually cook. Or at least thats the plan. It ain't cooked yet!

Speaking of cooking, its time to make the dog suppers. Old Chip did fine at the groomer and visited with an English bulldog. But with the haircut, I can see he is kind of roly poly. His undercoat is reddish and he now looks like a big orange cat!

Take care all. Diane S

I've visited the Henry Dooley Zoo and it is truly amazing! The rainforest exhibit is stunning.

I am back in the land of the functioning, but down 8 pounds since Monday. Certainly can't recommend the method. I can't decide if I am grateful to be hungry today or if I am missing the absolute lack of appetite that came with my illness. Disordered thinking anyone?????

My back also seems to be really good suddenly, but I'm not counting my chickens yet!

Way too much to say about WLS regain, WL drugs, etc.... Don't even want to go there.

Glad everyone is having a relatively decent week. Read that the northern Mid West was having winter weather yet again. SORRY! Here we are solidly in spring - the season during which we complain bitterly when it's in the low 60s because that's COLD! I know, California problems! LOL

I am not loving GOAT v2.0 as much as I had hoped. It has little issue after issue. That takes the joy out of it for me. I am contemplating either going back to a somewhat smaller RV or just dumping the whole RV adventure. Have plenty of time to consider because it's going back in the shop for the rest of the repairs on the 16th.

Not much else here.
