It is already a beautiful, sunny day here with much less wind than we have had lately. The sun is really strong here this time of year so the wind was actually very nice for keeping it cooler even though it did cause the surf to be kind of scary.
We are driving to Fort Lauderdale this afternoon to see Mike's son, daughter and son-in-law. This will be the first family we have seen since our marriage. My DS is getting MUCH better with me lately too so that is a relief. I know his other family and friends are helping him to ease past his angst about me getting married. And speaking of marriage, we are working on our invitations for the August party to celebrate our wedding. We are going to be modern and send them via email or text message.
Time to get my act together. I have to go back to the Elections Office with my SSN card to see why the registration failed. Chances are they used the wrong version of my 2 last names. Sigh... Everything else I did was successful. The car is fully registered here, I have a Florida drivers license, and I received a TSA pre-check known traveler number yesterday. They were able to deal with my complex name!
Time to get packing (literally)! Have a safe and healthy day!

Enjoy your time with family. Its good news that your son is learning to deal with the fact that you found love and are married. Better for you, and certainly better for him.
Cold, windy, occasional drizzle. My teaching partner is a boy's golf coach. Our school hosted a tournament today! I couldn't believe they went ahead with it. That's dedication.
Our garage door spring broke, but can be fixed Wednesday. My first reaction at the news was a clenching in my stomach and oh no! But then I remembered that times have changed and paying for this does not mean having to put it on a credit card or forgo other equally important things. Nor does it mean DH has to spend hours and hours trying to fix it himself. Of course I would prefer not to spend money on this, but it's not a catastrophe as it would have been in the past, it's an inconvenience. And I am grateful for the easing of financial worries in my life.
I cannot definitively say what is improving my fatigue, but it sure got better last week. I've worked out moderately since the beginning of March. I feel stronger. Maybe its that. The protein experiment is about 9 days old, could it work that fast? I'm probably eating more calories than usual, and truthfully, it feels so good. Constantly trying to be at a calorie deficit is so draining, emotionally and physically. But I also gained 2 pounds. DH offered that maybe it's water weight. I am peeing constantly, so seems unlikely. I did up the amount of weight I'm pushing pulling lifting on the resistance machines so maybe ... I won't freak out yet.
Speaking of, time for my protein and veggie packed chili, courtesy of my friend, Wendy's. Onward!
Muscle is heavier than fat so you are likely converting the weight right now.
I hear you on the financial worries. For most of my life I was always afraid we didn't have enough for the next crisis even though we always managed. I am finally not worried. Certainly not rich but most things like home and car maintenance are also just annoying not financially devastating.

Greetings all
Slow day out here (like I do anything else). Stopped at the studio and picked up new firings and took them to the gallery. My sales have been a little slow which gives me time to catch up on stuff. Picked up money and mail.
Liz glad your DS is doing better with the marriage. Hopefully he is seeing it won't change things in the family and that Mike brings you happiness. And emailing for your party is a good thing. Who needs more paper?
DH is watching a truly hideous sci fi. Fortunately I can ignor it and go take a shower.
So m friends from Oregon- the ones whose visit I have been stressing about- are not coming. She is having a hip replaced close to the previous dates. This woman has had both knees replaced several times. She wants to reschedule the visit for later in June but I predict the hip will set her back for longer than she thinks. I am kind of relieved as she is somewhat high maintenance though it would be fun to catch up. So I will stress later.
Chicken cutlets tonight pre seasoned from the health food store. No clue what is in them but I decided to dust off a few pots and pans and cook something besides food for the dogs.
DD garage door repairs! Many years ago mine broke and a spring went flying across the room and put a hole in the wall! Hope your repair is less dramatic.
Not much else new. I do enjoy my ridiculously slow life.
Cheers, Diane S
Yes, guests can cause stress no matter how much you enjoy their company. At least you have some more time to enjoy your slow life until they arrive.

Sigh, still sick. I hardly slept at all last night, feeling like I was drowning in snot. So gross, sorry. Sitting up was much better, but impossible to sleep. But I switched to Mucinex today so maybe I can get rid of some of this gunk. My doctor checked on me today and said the practice has had a lot of people this last week with what I have. Just really terrible colds.
I did manage to get my hair cut and colored today. Yay! And my paint selection got approved, so I can get that scheduled. I have scheduled a large item pick up with the trash people to take away my rusting unsalvageable bbq tomorrow.
Ooh, and the best news... after paying $2500 upfront for that nuclear test, I got a message from my insurance company that they are going to cover all but $283 of that test! So now to figure out how to get the money back from the hospital. That'll buy a little paint!
Wish me sleep luck tonight...
I hope you got that sleep you needed! Colds like the one you have do drag you down!
