Still feel like I'm gargling razor blades over here! My doctor tested me for strep A and it was negative. He said that's the one that causes other problems in the body like kidneys, so it's the one they have a rapid test for. He said if it's another kind of strep, my body should clear it on its own. So no prescriptions. I was in tears this morning it hurts so much. I need to stop and get some Cepacol or something. I'm alternating Tylenol and Advil every 4 hours as neither keep the pain away for their full 6 hours. My poor friend is dodging me as she doesn't need to catch this prior to her son's wedding in a few weeks.

I am not a stoic sick person if you haven't figured that out by now... at least eating isn't appealing.

Hope you all are well!

CC, you and I must have posted at the same time. I deleted mine.....

Aw, I am sorry your throat feels so crappy! Not fun at all. At least it's not the bad strep! The Omicron variant presented with a sore throat for me, so I do hope you are testing for Covid, too.

Well, I had been thinking about PT this weekend, too. I talked with my doc yesterday via email messages and he referred me to PT and I am having my first session on Thursday. It is only an introductory on line class, but it is the gateway to getting a PT to help me work through this back issue. Chiropractor is on hold until he contacts me. I am disappointed that I have had to cease the chiropractic care because it is something I have done for decades to maintain back and structural health. I had such hopes for feeling GREAT, too.

I am tired today! Dog show weekend followed by a very, very busy Monday is taking its toll! Also, my back hurt last night in bed, so I woke up from that a lot and then Keira needed two middle of the night bathroom outings. I do not begrudge my old girl anything. I gladly oblige her all the middle of the night bathroom forays she wants. Every Airedale in my house goes back to her!

Liz, I've been meaning to ask why you have decided to make Florida your primary residence rather than Massachusetts? Are there tax benefits for you by making the change? After this year's personal tax burden, I can understand trying to get a break. My taxes have been so much more since the Trump tax reform. This year, however, was the worst. But, we all know it was a tax reform that was "anti-California". Anyhow, I did not press "submit" on my taxes until last night around 7 pm. I just could not bear the idea of letting Uncle Sam have my money any sooner than necessary!

Food was average yesterday. More than anything I am trying to watch/lessen the sugar intake and up the protein. Sound familiar, DD?

Yes to the Covid testing - one at home (negative), one at the doctor's office (haven't heard). It's all throat and a fever, no other symptoms. I sound stuffy, but only because my throat is so swollen it's blocking air from my nose.

I hear you on the tax front. That SALT cap only covers a quarter of what I used to be able to deduct. Painful, painful year this year!

Three reasons for the residency change: Massachusetts has income tax and excise taxes that I can avoid (Florida has neither tax). Second, Mike and I can't technically claim different states of residency now that we are married unless we actually live apart enough for me to be in Massachusetts more than Florida (he is a Florida resident). Finally, if we stop traveling we would be spending the majority of the year in Florida - we have talked about being here 9-10 months. The last two years I have spent more time in Florida than in Massachusetts though not as much as we may be going forward.

So, so sorry you are so miserable. You can't get a break lately!

I thought I had posted this morning LOL. So many things running through my mind on things I have to get done between now and when we leave to drive home on 5/10.

We are at the beach club right now and I had a nice piece of Mahi for lunch. It is too windy to be on the beach itself so we are in the pool area (with a view of the ocean). Very busy as this is school vacation week up north and lots of families are visiting. Nice music though!

I did recover my bedroom bench this morning to match the decor so I am done in that room now. I think I am going to try attacking the painting/recovering of the bar stools in the next few days. They are going from dark brown with black leather seats to off-white with an aqua textured velvet seat.

I also need to paint some highlights on my roots like I did when hairdressers were closed during Covid. I am trying to grow my hair more into a bob so it has now been 2 months since my last highlight and will be another month before I see my hairdresser. It's looking a bit dark along the root line (other than some strands of silver LOL).

Those are the plans for the day. Have a safe snd healthy Tuesday!

I ran some color through my roots too this morning! I had a much needed hair appointment today, but we decided to cancel to avoid my germs.

Oh CC, I know that pain. For years I had a PCP that really relied on clinical judgement when it came to antibiotics. If he told us not now, but come back if it doesn't get bettet, we never needed to. Conversely, he would sometimes prescribe when tests were negative, and we would bounce back quickly. Your pain is so acute, I don't like the you'll be fine. I realize antibiotics can be overused, but sometimes I think medical people go too far.

Peps, you can't just get an appointment to see a PT for an evaluation? Maybe my insurance plan is better than I think. Actually, I do think I have great insurance, and I give my union credit for that.

Liz, having lived through another dismal April (it was 46, overcast and windy today. Yesterday the wind chill was 23 degrees) I dream of living in a warm climate for the majority of the year.

My protein experiment is having a happy side effect: I'm getting a good amount of calcium. With limited sleeve capacity, adding some fair life milk to meals is the easiest way to up the protein content.

DH is still sick! He was sleeping when I left for work, and he's sleeping now. He called in sick today (he wasn't scheduled yesterday), I wonder if he'll need to stay home tomorrow too.
