Justice and I just returned from our 3 mile daily walk (Mike stopped at the gym). It is a picture perfect Florida day so we want to find some time at the pool in between doing laundry and going to our usual Saturday afternoon music venue.

We are cooking at home today and tomorrow as all restaurants are busy with Easter visitors this weekend. Tomorrow it will be just Mike and I. I am boiling a few eggs to make egg salad as I associate it with Easter. We bought a Turkey breast to roast and I am going to make some scalloped potatoes using my mothers recipe.

Not much else except I am taking a day off from projects. I mounted the last two decorative items from my former home outside which required drilling holes in concrete. Not easy but it works with the proper drill bit. Either tomorrow or Monday I am starting my chalk painting of several stools. I think I will start with the smallest item first to get the hang of it.

Next week I am also concentrating on establishing Florida residency. I already changed the address on my credit cards and car insurance to here and next week I am hoping to be able to register to vote, change the address on my car registration and get a Florida Real ID drivers license.

Oh and today is Mike and my 1 month wedding anniversary, LOL!

In the meantime I am changing into my bathing suit and putting more laundry in. Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Greetings all

Thank you Liz for so faithfully starting our chat each day. Doing laundry in a bathing suit sounds like a good idea. Years ago I used to have this "thing" that on Sunday night all clothes in my house had to be clean so I would be in a bathrobe at 6 pm doing laundry. My standards now are considerably lower. Today its washing all the sofa throws which are in reality dog beds.

Sun is out here and the dogs are napping. We did Easter last Sunday so not much will go on here. Fine with me. I still need to devote effort to dejunking the house but I would rather sit here and play computer games. Story of my life in recent years.

We have been watching "Wecrash" on Apple tv. Kind of interesting. It seems our show preferences are for these psychopath, narcicistic characters who go around inflicting themselves on others. Its sure not "Leave it to Beaver" but we like the weird stuff.

The Pho food we had last night was decidedly mediocre. So I won't go there again. Must find a chinese take out place that is actually open dependably.

I am struggling with allergies. I think its actually more of the dust inside the house rather that outside pollen although I see these little fuzzy things hanging from the birch trees. Clariten just doesn't cut it anymore.

CC hope you are recovered from your medical adventures and get useful info. Meanwhile, eat cheese. Probably my favorite thing to eat.

DD love hearing your music stories. Is everyone unmasked at live music? Hope you have some good rest and down time.

Not much else. I continue to "ostrich" my weight gain and how its the reason for all my aches and pains. I know what to do. Just can't seem to face it.

Cheers. Diane S

There are no mask mandates anymore in Minneapolis, but the theaters are requiring proof of vaccination and masks. Bars and clubs with music aren't. So last night, dinner=no masks, theater to see musical =masks, bar next door with live music after theater= no masks. The club we went last weekend required proof of vaccination, or negative test, but no masks. Kind of all over the place. The bar we stopped in last night asked for ID, and I was so surprised I laughed and said seriously? And as I was reaching for my purse the adorable bouncer said, no ma'am , you can just go in :)

Happy one month anniversary! The first year we were married, DH and I celebrated the date each month. Its a sweet memory.

We had an awesome time last night. The musical was the story of Jelly Roll Morton, considered one of the father's of jazz. His was a complicated story, and there was a lot to unpack by the end of the show. I'm still mulling it over.

It is the rare Saturday DH has off, he works 3 a month, and even rarer that we are home. We went to work out around 11am, and it was so nice to not be thinking, oh, I've got to get home so I can pack my lunch and get ready for tomorrow... After we worked out, we stopped and picked up a few groceries and had lunch together while we watched the first episode of the Queen's Gambit. We're late to the party, but it looks like it will be a good one.

I was reading in AARP magazine (hmm, never typed that sentence before) that older folks don't metabolize protein as well as they used to. The nutritionist who wrote the article said women should have at least 25 grams of protein with each meal, and men should have 30. Their contention was less than 25 at one meal and its not enough for your body to utilize properly. This, again was pertinent to people over 50. I don't know if their science was solid or not, but I don't see how it could hurt to shoot for that. I don't know if I can do it or not, I can't eat a lot of meat. I might think about drinking a glass of Fair life milk with my meal... but then it would have to be before the solids...

Speaking of, what sleeve eating rules do you still follow? I try not to have liquids with my meals, but I don't always wait 30 minutes after finishing before I start drinking again. I think I always manage to wait at least 20 minutes. I never was able to stretch my meals to last 30 minutes, but I do eat slower than I did pre surgery, and I chew my food much better. I know grazing is what will most easily defeat a sleeve, and I am guilty of that. I try to keep my clinics rule of two hour minimum before eating again, but, since I do admit to grazing, obviously not following faithfully. My clinic said no gum, which I completely disregard at this point. If I'm having acid reflux, minty gum seems to help better than tums etc. I drink some calories, milk in my chai lattes, and ****tails, but I try to pick the less caloric ****tails. I never get those super dooper Starbucks type drinks, maybe one pumpkin spice latte or egg nog latte a season. I don't know why they can't make those sugar free, sigh...

Liz, I was going to express my envy again about your weather, it reached a high of 39 here! At least it's sunny today. The sun has a lot of strength, so it must be seriously cold air mass to keep the temps so low. 70s in the forecast for next week, I welcome the weather whiplash in this case.
