I accepted an offer last night! There were 3 offers. The 2 not accepted were for more money but one was contingent on the sale of another home which was contingent on the sale of some land - the other was contingent on a mortgage (and appraisal which might have been an issue). The one I accepted was a cash deal with proof of funds provided, no contingencies, closing on 5/3. So I am pretty happy about getting this done! I'm glad I ended up with a realtor because vetting these people wouldn't have occurred to me. She definitely earned her commission and I end up with more than I expected when I began the process.
I am not sure what we will do today - Mike is at a doctor appointment now and has a phone appointment at 11. I may do some errands at Home Depot and Michaels while he is busy. I don't have much else left to do at the house other than mount some heavy things on the walls which requires special hardware. Yesterday we finished moving tools from my boxes and the kitchen pantry into the new garage storage unit so we are pretty settled now.
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

First scans done for thyroid yesterday, next set this morning and then I am getting a huge Starbucks! I probably don't want to go crazy on food today as the colonoscopy prep begins tonight and carries on tomorrow for the procedure Thursday. But there will be dairy. And pizza. I can't wait for this week to be over!
I got my taxes back and let's just say the blood drained out of my face. And the fun will reverberate every quarter as estimated taxes are based on your last year's tax bill. I sense a few years of fun as selling this house will result in an even bigger tax bill next April and drag on through 2024. Looking forward to 2025...
My friend suggested a good show on Hulu called The Split. They have the first two seasons. Season 3 just came out in the UK. And we're also working through Bridgerton season 2. Not as engaging as the first season, but still prettily filmed.
Anyway, I should get going. Hope you all have a nice day!
Congratulations on finishing the thyroid scan so back to regular eating in a couple of days! Tax time is never fun. So Michigan is your primary residence? Mine is Massachusetts so I will have a capital gain this year as well. But I will be back to married, filing jointly this year vs. single for 2021 so that should help.

Oh tax season! DH is working on that as we speak. Minnesota tends to be a higher taxed state, but , overall, I am satisfied with what I get in return. I think quality of life here is pretty good, and it has to be paid for somehow. On the other hand, we have saved the overage I'm making each month, since I am 1.2 this year. Looks like it's going into an IRA to lower what we need to pay in to federal taxes. Not the worst deal, since retirement draws nearer, and I'll enjoy spending it when the time comes.
TS Elliot said April is the cruelest month, and he knew what he was talking about. Entering 2 more weeks of below average temps. Good thing I replenished my vitamin D stores with 2 trips to Florida. Summer will come, and it will be grand!
A house down the street is listed for 417,000. A standard split level, on a modest sized lot, in a 4th ring suburb in Minneapolis. Crazy. I told my husband if it sells, we'll need to put our house on the market. He asked where I thought we would live since this is a starter home neighborhood. I'm thinking RV. Well not really. I know if we ever do come to the day we sell (if they don't carry us out of this house feet first) the market will have cooled, that's just the way these things work out for us. :) But in the meantime, I'll enjoy living in my paid off little house, which is apparently much more valuable than I knew!
Just finished meeting with the endocrinologist, staying the course with treatment, I'll have a bone density scan in September, which is 2years from the one that diagnosed the osteoporosis. No blood work. Yeah! So once I have my mammogram Friday, I think I'm done with doctor visits until the fall.

Thyroid test results are back and I have several suspicious nodules present now that weren't there before. One in the right lobe where I didn't have nodules before and one in the left (plus all the original ones). Cold nodules (ones that don't take up radioactive iodine) are the suspicious ones that can be cancerous. Hot nodules are the hyperthyroid ones and those suck up the iodine and are not prone to cancer. I'm still waiting to hear from my doctor and what comes next, but I know she'll at least want to biopsy the cold ones and maybe the hot ones if I want to have them ablated. I hope that's still an option! Nothing is easy seems to be my new motto...
No, nothing is easy but it is good that you are getting thoroughly checked out.
