VSG Maintenance Group

My goal today is to unpack 3 boxes and possibly swap decorations on top of the kitchen cabinets. I was exhausted at the end of the day yesterday after moving furniture and unpacking so I am not doing as much today. The contract with the broker is all signed and they are taking pictures today so the listing will be up soon.
The main event today will be going to the Beach Club for sun and to eat lunch. We haven't been there for almost 4 months and they have done some renovations so it will be interesting to see it. We are taking some friends from Falmouth there for dinner next Thursday.
Have a safe and healthy Friday!

My friend arrived safely and is happily rolling with the punches of my weird diet. It was so hot here yesterday/last night and again today. But we went out for an early walk. She's at Pilates now.
We're headed to the movies this after with another friend to stay out of the heat. No popcorn for me. Whaaa! We're going to see Everything Everywhere All at Once. Looks funny.
Off to marinate some chicken legs in the salad dressing I can have!
Liz, hope the lunch and a bit of lizarding was restorative this afternoon. I'm sure you are tired, you've been packing, unpacking for several days now.
CC, I would be pitching an internal fit if I couldn't have popcorn at the movie too. I don't need to eat a big volume to enjoy, but I love a kid size portion with lots of salt! Hopefully the movie and company were a happy distraction from the lack of popcorn.
Diane, I think its a special kind of free when you look at something like your table, that holds sentimental value, and think, you served a purpose, but now I can let you go. I'm starting to let go of some of the things I saved that belonged to my kids. They are adults now, and can decide whether the Bananas in Pajamas doll is important (not) or Little, the blue teddy (yes, even very practical son says Little is worth keeping) . Once it was all important, now, we are different, and can release items for another family to use.
I had such a fun time with my first hour students. Its a small group pull out English class, kids who struggle to keep up in the mainstream. We're studying Romeo and Juliet, and they are so into it. It was a nice way to start the day, and so gratifying to have my rag tag group of learners master a complex subject.
There is cake in the house!!! Yikes. DH wants cake for his birthday, it really is one of his most favorite things. I went to our favorite bakery and bought the smallest cake they have, a 1/8 sheet cake. I thought about getting 2 cupcakes, but I know he prefers sheet cake, so he's getting what he wants.
I think I will have a short nap on this Friday afternoon, and then tidy up the house before DH gets home at 8pm.
This morning I weighed a little bit less than when I went to Florida. I am not happy with this weight, but like Peps, I'm relieved to be maintaining, not gaining. And the fight continues ...
Greetings all
Got our second booster at costco today. As we arrived I began to experience some intestinal distress. You haven't lived until you have done the 100 yard dash through costco to the ladies room. Twice. Oh well I am fine now and we got out of costco without excessive spending.
I have gotten rid of a little more junk and have a plan for getting rid of the marble table. I will offer it free to our gallery members and if no one wants it I will put it on the local classifieds for a cheap price. Since it is a marble top, someone should want it to make fudge on or do other baking, right? LOL Its liberating just to think of that thing gone. It is indeed liberating to realize I don't have to keep it forever just because it was give to me by an 80 year old nun in gratitude for helping her sister do her taxes.
So good on you Liz for unpacking 3 boxes. You have earned lunch at the beach club.
CC glad your guest is rolling with the weird diet. I agree no popcorn sucks. Make up for it by having fun.
Beef pot pie for dinner tonight. Deli's finest.
DD thanks for the mention of "The Thing about Pam". We started it last night after one (and only one) Star Treck Piccard. And good to hear you had fun with students on Romeo and Juliette. Such a timeless story. Good way to get Shakespear. What else do high school kids read these days (besides all the banned books)?
Its sunny but windy here. The entrance to costco is sort of a wind tunnel since its close to the bay. I almost felt like the Flying Nun.
Not much else here. I am cooking rice for the old dog who is pestering me for food. I don't think he is long for this world.
Cheers all. Diane S
