The biker bar was a bit of a washout. The usual music was cancelled due to a threat of thunderstorms though they didn't materialize until about 6 pm. We did get to see our favorite bartender who is 5 months pregnant with her first child. She is only working until the end of the month and there is going to be a baby shower at the bar on her last Saturday. Old bikers may wear leather and ponytails but many are now grandparents and we are all thrilled for this lovely young woman.
I now have 6 people interested in my villa, with 5 viewing it on Tuesday and 1 deciding based on more complete pictures. Two of them are realtors living in Michigan who are buying for themselves. I figure that is a good omen as they know how to do comps and aren't shocked by my asking price. So of course now I am worrying that I didn't ask enough. But maybe I will have a bidding war LOL. I did have an interesting discussion with one about the paperwork. Apparently I can use a title company in Florida to do all the necessary paperwork for much less money than a real estate attorney so I am going to call a local one on Monday.
Today I need to finalize what we are bringing from this house to Port Charlotte. I have had a change of heart and decided not to switch as much furniture as I originally planned. I think it will look too mismatched here if I do that.
Time to get ready to go out to breakfast (one of Mike's favorite routines).
Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Liz, I've heard the market is crazy hot now. When the time comes to buy, we'll probably need to look at fixer uppers. Luckily, DH has all the skills needed. But all of this makes me sad again that my parents sold their house before I was in a position to buy it. They told us over and over again the house would be mine, but, in the end, more meaningless promises from them.
I just weighed myself, and there was little damage from vacation. I could feel that I was stronger from working out, and walking all over was quite doable. I'm really grateful and happy that DH encouraged me to get back to the gym. My initial reason for WLS was to regain the mobility that was slipping away because of obesity. I did change my physical abilities tremendously, but I began to lose some mobility again during Covid. Seems I'm the kind of body thst needs to work at it. An older friend once told me, Exercise is the mortgage you pay for a good life.
Today will still be kind of chill, the house was fairly tidy when we left, so I will mostly focus on unpacking and getting ready for tomorrow's work day. I feel refreshed and optimistic after several days in the sun! Onward to spring and the beautiful summer that will eventually follow.
Greetings all
DD you raised an issue that i****ting home with me. Mobility. I am feeling really limited. Like you, that is a large part of the reason I did vsg and it was such a joy to feel light on my feet and not worry where I park the car. Fast forward 12 years and here I sit having gained back some weight and feeling like a piece of petrified wood. I had slowed down before covid and during covid took couch potatoing to a new level. Brief interlude with the puppies. Getting tendonitis in one foot and then the other took a lot out of me. But I generally feel sort of off balance and that makes me hesitate to take the dog for a walk as I fear falling. I see my pc doc tomorrow for some kind of follow up and I am going to ask him if the medicine I take for tachycardia could be making me off balance. It can cause dizziness but thats not how I would describe things. Oh well, I am not so immobile that I cant throw stuff in the garbage.
Lordy does paper and junk pile up. I have medicare and it seems like every minor thing results in 10 pages of paper. Does anybody save this stuff? I see no need to keep anything that says "THIS IS NOT A BILL". I think I will just toss it all along with the 3 yard long receipts from CVS and other junk mail. Our recycling box is way more than the trash which I guess is good.
So much for self indulgent *****ing. Liz I am sure you will do a great job integrating your stuff and Mike's stuff. You have the touch. Like you, I am not a great fan of leather furniture. A big giant dog chew if you ask me. Cover it up with throws and pillows. And yeah, a title and escrow company can do the stuff to sell your place. Its the buyer who has to worry more about what they are getting. Hope it works out soon. Housing prices out here are astronomical and I am grateful for what we have.
Gallery duty tomorrow after doctor visit and studio drive by to get new stuff. A packed day for me.
CC I too have been thinking about my CD collection. I have a player at the studio and most of my disks are there but I never play the stuff. There is a guy at our gallery who sells music CD's (he is a crappy musician) and it makes me wonder who buys them as no one seems to have cd players in the car anymore. Oh well, glad you are getting stuff unloaded.
Any dog shows coming up Peps? Still hoping you are coming up to Ferndale this summer. My niece is taking her almost year old puppy to agility shows just to hang out and learn how to behave. That pup is in for lots of fun.
Not much else here. Sunny and chilly here which is a perfect day for sorting papers and tossing stuff. Avocado toast again. Could become a habit.

If you're feeling like you could exercise safely in a health club, I can recommend the recumbent bike. It's not a cool or sexy machine, but it gets the job done. It is a very safe way to exercise no worries about balance and your back is well supported. It does use some of the big lower body muscles and even engages your core muscles to some extent, all of which help with walking and balance.
