Everything got put away yesterday, so this place is ready for the furniture swap. More is coming from Port Charlotte than is leaving here so hopefully it will integrate okay. I am a bit worried about the colors going together but I can recover some things at some point if I need to. I am not a fan of the leather couch and loveseat here but the ones in Port Charlotte just wouldn't look right so the leather stays for now.
Last night we went to dinner at one of our favorite places on the beach and ran into a couple of friends I made last year at the same restaurant. We got to catch up on what has changed since we last saw them in the fall.
My friend in Port Charlotte who used to live in the same development looked at my place yesterday but decided she wasn't interested because it doesn't have enough light. It is somewhat darker than many - she used to live on the top floor of a multi-story condo with full sun all the time, where mine has a lot of live oaks trees around so it is different. It makes it cooler and more private but definitely darker. I have 4 showings scheduled on Tuesday and a guy in Michigan who is going to decide whether to make an offer after I send him a more complete and updated set of pictures on Monday. If I don't get an acceptable offer out of this group I will probably list with a realtor but want to give it a shot on my own first.
No real plans for today other than possibly going to an outdoor "biker bar" where we usually enjoy the music. That will only happen if it doesn't rain but showers are predicted this afternoon.
I am glad to hear that Peps back is better. Maybe that painful readjustment worked after all? CC, it sounds like the diet is still uncomfortable for you. Hopefully it will get better as you get used to it? Diane S, enjoy Killing Eve. The acting is really good but i just couldn't get into it when I tried watching it a couple of years ago.
I bought healthy stuff yesterday to start eating better, but need to get my head around it. And that is always the difficult part. Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Yep, I'm a bit cranky over the lack of dairy, Liz. But it'll be over in 10 days (plus 2 more for colonoscopy).
Today I think I'm going to take 4 boxes of CDs to Goodwill. I haven't used them in 16 years, and don't even have anywhere to play them anymore. That'll make a huge dent in my office closet.
I ran the self-clean function on the oven last night and wiped it out this morning and called to make a plumber appointment this morning. Chipping away at the list... I didn't get to the touch up paint yesterday, but I will today. That will feel good.
Anyway, that's all I have! Take care all.
Do they actually take CDs anymore?

Greetings all
A great sunny day here. I got the rest of the bedding plants into planters today. My big chore. I feel lucky to have some nice ones.
Some friends from way back are coming through in early May and will stay a couple of days. I am already in a panic. The guest room is trashed as is the entire rest of the house. These people are gourmet cooks and I just don't cook anymore. Then there is the issue of the wild dogs. So I think I will warn them ahead of time which won't change things but I won't feel so guilty about not being Martha Stewart.
Biker bar Liz. Sounds exotic. Enjoy.
CC thinking of you during diet days. It will be worth it. My studio buddy just had a lung scan and has some kind of fungus. No kidding - she lives in a little cabin that has god knows what in it.
And Peps, you had better not be out mistreating your back!
Not much else here. Deli chili tonight. And I got a tip from my brother on a tv show - "Bad Vegan". Supposed to be quirky and weird.
Rest up kids.

Back in Minnesota, our plane was delayed about an hour and a half, but we made it just the same. After getting up at 4am, my biggest activity so far has been a very long nap. Now DH and I are getting ready to watch episode 4 of The Thing About Pam. Episodes are aired first (on NBC? Not sure) and then moved to Hulu.
It was hot and humid in Orlando and I was so happy :) My California tribe members would probably not agree. There is good and bad in everything though. Way too cold here for termites (so sorry you have to deal with that CC, not fun!) or venomous snakes. So that's a plus :) At this stage in my life, I think I'm ready to take my chances with the critters though. We spend so much vacation time in Florida, it seems like it's where we should be, except for Florida politics. Don't say Gay and other Florida initiatives aren't for me. We still have a few years before we start investing any money in real estate ...
Not much else going on here, our daughter finally recovered enough to go back to Florida, our son seems to be doing fine. The house is quiet with just DH and I again. DH works tomorrow, I'm back on Monday, but will have Wednesday off so I can go to my Oncology check up. School is done June 10, and then DH and I start out to spend a few weeks on the East Coast. While its chilly and brown here right now, summer will be here soon!
I have the same feelings about enjoying the warmth and humidity but not the politics here. A lot of people who decide to retire here start looking for property in the last year or two of work. I bought mine a year before I expected to retire (though it ended up being 9 months). My financial planner wanted me to get a mortgage and suggested that I do it while still working to make it easier.
I am glad to hear that DD has improved!

DH went out to grill and discovered our neighbors flooded our yard. They build a hockey rink on top of our hill. Last year they flooded the neighbors to the right of us and did $17,000 of damage to their house and yard. Their insurance had to pay, so you think they would be more careful. This year it appears they redirected it toward our yard and neighbors on the left (vine cutters). Our yard is soaked, but the water didn't reach the house, so we don't think there is damage. DH says as it was melting last week, they must have realized they were flooding us, because it looks like they dug a holding pond. But how stupid are you to not figure out what to do with 5-8 thousand gallons of water besides let it run down a hill into someone else's yard. We will probably call our insurance company to come out and inspect our yard just to be sure.
