Almost April, and its snowing at home! Its warm, but overcast here today. We are going to visit Wakaki Springs, a state park nearby, to do a little walking. Dinner at an Irish themed restaurant tonight something my DH is looking forward to. More later!
Liz, I hope all is okay, and you're busy with your return to your Vero Beach!
We are more than halfway to Vero. We were on the road at 9:30.
Yesterday was crazy with emails and calls as I put the word out that I am selling after finding out that my friend's sister and her husband have decided not to move. Another friend who moved out of the park a few years ago is looking at it tomorrow (my neighbor is letting her in). I have 3 more showings on Tuesday and a person in Michigan who seems to be implying that he would buy it sight unseen. I think I need to get a Real Estate attorney to make sure everything is done properly.
We rented a truck Monday to Thursday next week to take furniture from Vero to Port Charlotte to swap for some of the stuff there.
I hope this process goes fast. Ideally we would have a cash deal (a couple have said so). I really want to close before I leave Florida on 5/9 but hopefully can do it remotely if not.
Very stressful after 3 months of honeymooning!
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Thursday.... 4 absent today. More will be out tomorrow. I think this is the "Spring Break after a pandemic so we are all going somewhere special" Spring Break! I have kids off to Mexico, Hawaii, and the Bahamas and Barbados. Dang! Personally, I will be happy to stay at home, groom dogs, putter in the garden and take naps!
Ever a work in progress, it feels sometimes like the growth is a slow, slow process. I am aware how much I don't like being hungry and I now understand why. However, just because I know this is not enough to automatically change the feelings triggered by hunger. I wi**** were. Yesterday's hunger ended with donuts! Free donuts in the school office. I chose to eat three. Not at one time, mind you, but over the course of the day - a bit at recess, a half donut and a few nibbles at lunch, a bite for after school comfort, etc.....
One of the places I was considering in the sierra foothills for retirement is having some significan****er issues. People's wells are drying up and some insurance companies are red lining certain neighborhoods for fire insurance. If that happens the properties are basically worthless. Probably not something I want to risk. Doesn't matter for the time being anyhow. Can't go anywhere until I actually retire and I won't go anywhere as long as my dad is living in this area.
Back continues to improve by little bits each day. Today it is less stiff after sitting. Though I can tell I still need to be quite careful and not be reckless with what I do as far as everyday activity.
Not much else.....
Liz, hope the sale of the condo goes as hoped. Diamond D., enjoy your last days in the warmth of Florida before returning to your late winter weather in Minnesota!

I have termites. The inspector found them in the attic and in the floor where I suspected they were. And in some beams outside in the pergolas that I just spent nearly $10k replacing. F$#&ing termites. As he was walking around pounding on wood, I was having an anxiety attack. Ears ringing, no blood in my face or extremities. Tears on the brink. My friend who is also in the process of selling called and calmed me down some. I know it can all be fixed, but dammit, I don't want to have to when thinking of the stress I feel coordinating these things (and the money, though I can afford it, it stings). Makes me nauseous. Also it will kill a bunch of plants, some I just put in and some that are beautiful (like my huge hydrangeas), but in the way. I might be able to dig up a few of the roses under my porch and replant after, but not the hydrangeas.
I have therapy today. Probably good timing.
I also found two ziplocs of coins in my decluttering that I took to the Coinstar machine. $57.78 and $4.75 Canadian! If you choose a gift card, they don't take any fees. So Amazon it is! I think there's a bag of half dollars and silver dollars around here my mom used to collect I could turn in. She'd be sad, but the only meaning to me is sentimentality that she liked them.
Anyway, I think that's it for me. Going to go deep breathe for a while.
That stinks that you have to deal with termites. Better to know now than have it come up in a home inspection.

Greetings Peeps and Peps
Sunny today but boy is it windy. March indeed. I understand better why old ladies wear head scarves. My hair in my face is blinding!
CC termite! Major bummer. Good reason for an anxiety attack as there is not much to be done but pay the price. But Liz is right that its better to know now than later. Around here the pest is powder post beetles. Sorry for your plants too. I guess you could take cuttings off the hydrangea but they will take years to grow. You don't need termite news in the middle of your low iodine diet.
Peps donuts at work are always such a temptation and they are the ultimate slider food. I wonder who invented them? And who was the diabolical person who invented the Krispy Kreme drive through?
DH brought home leftovers from the Mexican restaurant so thats what's for dinner. I am busy cooking rice for the old dog who is pestering me for dinner.
Stopped by the studio for a bit but was uninspired. Tomorrow maybe I will search for more sweet peas.
Can it really be almost April?
Cheers all. Diane S
