Good morning! Heading towards 90 degrees today. Couldn't be happier. I don't have much to add, today's plans are similar to yesterdays. :)

I worked out yesterday! Only 3 different lifting moves, followed by stretching. The weights were stupid light, but that's exactly what I needed. My chest is already sore, which delights me. It's the RIGHT KIND of sore.

Back is stable, but I would like it to be a non issue soon! The soreness and mild jabs of pain are getting old after 2 weeks.

Dad was given the medical clearance to live on his own yesterday. Whooo..... We went to look at another assisted living place. It was gorgeous, but the rooms were far too small and they only offered studios. Not what we are looking for at all! We will need to put a deposit on some place soon, but at least we have some time.

An interesting thing about Dementia is how obvious it is to those of us who interact with my dad, but he is absolutely unaffected by it. Other than realizing he struggles with words on occasion, he thinks he is perfectly fine. The only reason he is willing to stop driving is because he understands he is at risk for a sudden stroke. The fact that he deals with daily confusion and frustration goes unrecognized.

I am sitting with some feelings of wanting to eat this morning - even though there is no real hunger. I know this feeling all too well. It is part of my eating disorder cycle. Just trying to go with it - observe and deal. Perhaps another cup of coffee would help. Not sure....

Dog Breeder celebratory news - Blitz's hip scores put him in the top 10% for hip health in his breed, which is important to me since Airedales are prone to hip issues.

Pretty much it from here....

Interesting about your Dad not recognizing it. Though my deceased DH knew he had dementia before I did and always knew, a friend's husband with exactly the same form of dementia never knew he was impaired until he died. Even when he was wearing diapers. Weird.

Good news your Dad has some time to find the right assisted living place. My Aunt has been on a waiting list at several, very lovely (expensive places she can afford) since last spring, hoping to have a place by June. Looks like it will be August. Hopefully, so good you are looking now.

Good Morning All

Ive been as us Aussies say "Head down bum up" - final day of training and its been a roaring success. Both my boss and I are exhausted but its been a fabulous opportunity for all involved. It is an industry first and likely the start of many more training days. You cant buy that kinda advertising. I have decided I am finishing around 11.30am tommorrow (Fri) and will pop home and collect my mum. Shes coming to the farm for the weekend and we will stop for a nice lunch on the way. Im looking forward to it. DH is still away.

Apart from that I dont have a lot to report, I have put all of my energy into this training, setup and pack up plus ensuring all 20 attendees are well looked after. Its been good but I will be relieved to go back to normal busy. Even by my standards this has been next level. My step counts are way up - so thats a plus.

I organised all the kids Easter gifts last night after dinner. Good to have that sorted. Will post a picture on TT. Happy with how they turned out.

Peps - Good to see your back pain is easing. Its so wearing to be in strong pain. Sorry to read about your Dad :( Hugs. Hope you can find a nice place for him and he will be happy and relaxed there. Great news with Blitz's scores :)

DD - Loving seeing your pictures :) Enjoy every moment

Love to all who follow - I had best go make a cuppa while I have time to drink it before the training breaks for session change again

Love to all :)

I imagine people were nothing less than blown away! You don't do anything by half measure!

Greetings all

A sunny but windy day here in la la land. I got my sweet peas planted along with herbs. Poppy really wanted to help. Yesterday she was playing with something in the house and it was a fairly large rock! Have to keep those out of reach now. More sweet peas to come when I can find them. There are still a half dozen or so planters with nothing in them. Need more herbs.

DD so glad you are getting the lizarding weather you want. The pool looks great.

Peps glad things are moving forward with your dad. I looked at retirement places for my mom years ago and what we settled on worked out great. It was hard to convince my mom and one of her former students was a big help there. Hopefully your dad is content and not terribly frightened of his changes. I think that was part of Crazy Pat's problem - she knew she was losing it and it made her angry.

And good deal on your workout. Keeping fingers crossed that your back is finished acting up.

Liz back to the real world for you.

Shirley good on you for getting the big program done. Tell us more about this type of business. I am always curious about peoples work. Today at the studio I talked with a woman who had been a highly skilled crane operator in construction. She told how the construction site was so big that people rode around on bicycles to get from one end to the other. Must have been an airport!

Last of the Costco lasagne tonight and then I will need to cook. Hmmmm. Natural food store deli here we come.

I stopped at the ceramic supply store to buy underglaze products. Spent $70. Boy the prices of these materials are really going up. I have old jars that say $4 and now they are $9. I am grateful to have a local store to buy these things. Many people can only order on line. Nothing more fun than browsing in an art supply store.

Time to start cooking for the dogs. Cheers all.

Hair is back to brown today. Yay! Home Depot had large 7' queen palms for sale for $29 so I snapped one up. Way cheaper than flowers that die and dresses up a corner in my family room. They had Kentia palms that were nice looking and the same size that were $159. Not sure why you'd buy that over the $29 one! As my friend said, I only need to keep it alive for 2 months.

Then I started in on my office. It had bookcases in it that you see from outside the room and the stairs, so I made sure they looked pretty. I have so many books, but it's been a while since I bought any with my Kindle. But I do love the look of a full bookshelf. I also went through a bunch of piles on the desk, which is nearly clear. In fact, I should fini**** now just so I can declare something finished.

Then I pulled all the Wii stuff out of the cupboard. It's been over a decade since I played it. So that all goes in a donation box.

My termite inspection got moved up to tomorrow, so I need to clean out my closet so he can get in the attic. I hate when people need to get up there - the access panel is in my closet and it never fails to get dust on my clothes. But that will be done.

I tried to make no knead bread and it was a bust. It was too much water and there didn't seem to be any fixing it. This morning I really wanted eggs and an english muffin with butter. None of which I can have. Made me cranky.
