Welcome to Friday! We have had a great visit with Mike's old friends (and mine now). It was HOT yesterday though. Today it is cloudy which is a bit of a relief after so much heat. This morning we are going out to breakfast, then they are heading home.

We need to spend the day planning what we want to do before we leave in 6 days. We definitely want to go snorkeling and have at least one restaurant we wanted to visit.

I also need to get back to the couple interested in buying my Florida place on asking price and find out if SIL wants to come back there for a bit (which will affect the closing date). It feels like a lot of planning which got pushed back while making wedding arrangements is coming to a head.

Have a safe and healthy Friday!

My thyroid scan is scheduled! Finally! The diet from hell starts Monday. So I finish the diet on the 12th (test is 3 visits over 2 days) and do colonoscopy prep on the 13th, so normal eating won't resume until after the 14th. Prepare for cranky me...

Scale down another 0.8 today. And I wasn't all that "good" yesterday. Hmm. Must be dehydrated.

My outdoor furniture came back from the refinishers and looks brand new. Therapy was good. I'll have to think about whether I start up again after I move or whether I can go it on my own.

Room of Shame cleanout carries on. It looks awful, but these things always look worse before they look better.

This morning I'm walking with a friend, and then maybe take a load to the donation place. Then more decluttering! PS the elliptical lady did indeed back out...

Have a great day!

Look at the bright side! It will probably force some more weight loss. Hmmm, maybe I need to find some sort of decent incentive.

I think you're right! I am a processed food junkie so this might help me drop a few pounds! How much damage can I possibly do with fruits, veggies, unsalted nuts (blech) 5 oz of uncured meat, and black pepper?

Certainly not much!

CC, ugh that diet! As everyone is saying, no doubt you will lose weight. More important, you want definitive results from your scan, so the torture does have its purpose. Nonetheless, you have every right to be crabby.

Liz, the market sure does seem hot, if this buyer doesn't work out, seems you'll have no trouble selling.

We didn't have students today, had two equity trainings. A lot of times professional development is meh, but I thought this was useful, timely information. Minnesota has a highly rated education system, unless you're a student of color, then it's performance is abysmal. Why?? We have to figure this out, we are wasting the potential of so many kids and future citizens. Some programs have moved the needle, we need to keep going.

I did get myself to the club, and was glad I did. Today I carried more stuff out of the building than I typically do, and it wasn't as hard as usual. I think I am getting stronger. On the other hand, I tried on a dress I wanted to bring to Florida, and it didn't fit well. I'm trying not to focus on that, but sometimes I feel such despair that I can't seem to lose a friggin pound. But this is the body I have right now, this is the body that's taking me to Florida, I don't want to focus on how unhappy I am about the excess weight, the size of my thighs, my belly. I can't magically lose 20 pounds. So I am going to be happy that I get to travel, that I can swim everyday, that traveling with DH is always fun, that my BFF is joining us and there will be sun, wine, good food, and music.

I don't have a lot of plans for the rest of the day, except to start packing. We leave on Sunday. Happy Friday all!!!

Greetings all

Another sunny day here.

CC yuck to that medical test diet but I am sure glad you are getting that stuff done. Guess you get to pig out on carrots or something. If I eat anything good in the next couple of weeks, I pledge not to tell about it.

Studio crisis is calming down. Our director will stay on, perp is not being evicted but he will give up the gardening duties so we will have to find someone else to do it. I say just pay for mowing and thats it.

DD Florida bound!! Bet you can't wait.

Liz isn't it grand that Mike comes with a nice bunch of friends and family!! I was also lucky to marry into a nice group.

Peps hope your pain is departing.

Not much else. Leftover restaurant food tonight. (oops sorry CC)

Cheers. Diane S

No worries! I'm loading up on bread and dairy and eggs this weekend to make up for the coming food drought. Enjoy your restaurant leftovers with my blessings!
