We leave here a week from tomorrow! It is strange how 3 months seemed like such a long time to travel up-front but went so fast in some ways. Our final month here in the Keys has been mostly a relaxing time and the house we are at is very comfortable so there wasn't the same stress around flights and going somewhere every week or two. We more or less decided that we didn't want to rent out for more than a month in the future though we would consider doing it for 2 months if we could rent a cheaper, smaller condo in the same development for one of the months.

We got some insight into why Mike's younger DD might have had a more difficult time with us getting married than her siblings. She is going through an emotional time dealing with infertility right now. She has had several disappointments and has been on those drugs which rev up a woman's emotions so it is understandable. She is turning 40 soon and the signs are not looking good. I have no idea if they would consider adoption. I am pretty sure they know that my two younger children were adopted so I assume they would ask about it if they were going to contemplate that path.

Yesterday was an emotional day for me thinking about my eldest DD. Many tears and many good memories, but I feel pretty good today. We have two old friends of Mikes arriving this afternoon so we will celebrate our marriage with friends for the first time.

Peps, thinking about your Dad and your family. You have a lot on your plate right now.

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Greetings all

Sorry I missed yesterday. Played scrabble in the morning and spent the afternoon at the studio talking about the problem with the aggressive person who lives on the property. Landlord makes noises like they must get along but its not looking like that will happen. Drama drama drama.

Peps so sorry your Dad is hospitalized. We are all thinking of you. Not an easy time; especially when your back is hurting. Hope the pills help and that you can get some rest.

CC best of luck on the house sale. Some realtors tell you to get a storage unit and move out about half your crap so your home looks spacious. I would like to do that on a permanent basis. Old sheets and towels can go to the animal rescue places - they always want them. Some thrift stores sell old cotton items for rag content.

Liz have a good celebration with Mikes friends. A good thing for your new partner in life to have life long friends. Sorry you are missing Elise and wishing you some comfort.

DD a workout date! Glad covid is letting up and permitting that. Do they have many rules at the club about covid? I have not been to my pool in a couple of months so no clue what they are up to.

Meatloaf was good and there is probably one more dinner of it. Then I have to cook again.

I agreed to watch one Star Treck Discovery last night and then we watched Killing Eve. Pretty intense but no aliens.

Thats about it here. Cleaning lady is here and the dogs adore her. After this I will head to the studio to see what drama is on for the day.

The club we're going to seems pretty much like how things were before Covid. You have to use an app for your membership card, and when you open it up, it asks you to certify you don't have Covid symptoms, then it gives you your QR code to scan to enter. You're expected to wipe down the equipment when you're done using it, but I think that was protocol back in the day too. I don't worry too much about being out in public places anymore, because most of them don't carry any bigger transmission risk than the classrooms where I spend my days. I am glad that they are still requiring masks on airplanes, and theater makes sense too, but I feel comfortable at the gym.

Shoulder is slightly better today. My meeting with the real estate agent went well, though he does suggest I have the stucco painted. He said sometimes when everything else is perfect, people will fixate on the only bad thing they see (cracks in the stucco). While stressful to think about coordinating and dealing with the homeowners association, I can see his point.

I took a bunch of stuff to the donation place. More to go today. The lady who might want my elliptical came by, but isn't sure. I'm not holding my breath.

Still don't have my scan scheduled. I'm so angry at my doctor. It's not like they never submit these requests. So to do it wrong over and over and waste a month of my time pushing me so close to when I want to be out of here that I may not be able to get procedures done is maddening. That would mean starting over with a doctor out of state. But which state?

Another day of decent food yesterday. The scale dropped another two pounds (4.4 in two days). Just shows how much I puff up with excessive crappy carbs. I need to go to the grocery store, but also need to start working on eating through the freezer and pantry food.

I don't understand the scheduling problems either! As I said before, nobody wants to do these procedures, they should be the simplest thing to do.

Pills made me feel so much better yesterday evening! I think the Vicodin (which I have not taken before) creates a mild sense of euphoria.... My pain was ebbing already before taking the muscle relaxer and the Vicodin, so I felt pretty darn good last night. Still "ouchy", but not a constant nauseating constant pain like before. I took a second Vicodin at bedtime. I believe it helped me sleep pretty solidly until about 5:30, which was a major improvement from teh night before.

I finished watching all six seasons of Lucifer. I really enjoyed the series. Not many TV shows successfully pull off drama, comedy, romance, and social commentary and still make it fun. The detective work was probably the weakest component of the series, but nonetheless, I enjoyed the show very much!

I am very much carb soothing right now. Weight is stable at 1 pound over red line. I am okay with that for the moment. However, once the back pain is resolved, I need to get on track and structure a better eating program for myself.

Dinah has been bred. Now it's Dottie's turn today and tomorrow. With this timing, if all goes according to plan, I will have two litters born within two to three days of one another. Yes, I'm certifiable! But it's gonna be a lot of fun. I loved having 17 pups back in 2017!

Not much else here....

I think Vicodin feels like sliding into a perfect temperature hot tub. I generally don't have problems with substances (except food), I don't overuse alcohol or tobacco, but I can see how something like Vicodin could become a problem over the long haul. I've used it after surgery, after particularly invasive dental surgery, and once when I had an ovarian cyst leaking fluid into my abdomen. It was a miracle, I was on the bed, face down crying, and then once they kicked in, no more pain.

yep it is indeed a remarkable drug when you have pain. Vicodin is my pain killer of choice though I had a friend who got sick from it. Peps glad you got some relief. ds
