Spring Equinox: Sunday March 20, 2022

Happy first day of spring. I had completely forgotten until a friend sent me good wishes for the onset of spring. It is lovely and sunny here. Much nicer than yesterday's on and off drizzle. We sadly escaped the predicted rain. We need it, and I was prepared for a houe full of paw prints! LOL

I had a set back yesterday. My back spasmed again yesterday. It was not nearly as bad as the initial spasm, but enough to send me back to the cane and causing pretty intense pain all day. It is still hurting today. I'm also getting sore in all the compensatory muscles. Interestingly, as intense as my knee pain was it was not nearly as debilitating. I'm really not a happy camper presently. Tomorrow will be a solid week of this. I guess it's normal to be grouchy, grumpy and cross being in major discomfort 24/7.

I tried two different types of CBD chewables. One with melatonin, the other without. I don't think either really helped with the pain, but they sure did impact my sleep! I found it very difficult to get up both yesterday and today. I was in bed a full 9 hours both nights - which is unheard of for me. I think I will try the topical CBD instead. IF that doesn't work, then I'm going back to Advil or Tylenol with codeine until this passes.

My weight remains stable. I had a good session with the nutritionist/eating disorder counselor on Friday. Some good things to consider.... At times I want to just throw in the towel and try to be fat and content. However, that's just not my truth. Must continue to plod along and hope to find my peace.

Happy Spring!

Oh Peps, I'm sorry about your back. Have you thought about PT for it? When I went, the PT massages to loosen it up, the KT taping, and exercises helped me.

We got a little of your rain. 0.36", but every little bit helps when you only get 13" in an average year.

Wishing you all that peace you so deserve.

I don't think we got even that much up here!

Unrelenting pain is impossible to deal with without repercussions on other aspects of your life. You are in good shape so maybe it is time to seek a different kind of help. Many PT people have PHDs these days and really know their stuff.

Greetings All

Yes DD, my comments are indeed musings. Thats mostly what I do these days since I am minimally productive. But I did get a few things done like my tax packet is done, some stuff printed out, plans for studio payroll etc. still have to do banking. And thanks to CC I checked on line for the amount of my property taxes since my checkbook is a mess. I was able to find it in my on line bank statements once I knew the date. Great idea CC but I did not check on the neighbors taxes. These are all tract houses that are alike.

Studio buddy came by for awhile. We just sit and ***** about the sad state of the world. DH bought her a book - iPhone for seniors. Some of us (me included) cannot deal with electronic stuff without written instructions. I think she appreciates it. She approaches her iPhone like Don Quixote jousting at a windmill.

Speaking of electronics, I got a jury summons. I blew off the last one I got so they will keep chasing me. But now that I have reached age 70 you are allowed to get out of it without a doctors note so I told them of my various ailments. The web site is ridiculous - entered my phone number about 10 times and it would not let me put "none" for a work phone so I put in my home. Then they want to know how many kids you take care of (I think DH should count as 3 ).

Meatloaf to be made tonight since I have no excuse not to cook. I have the time and the ingredients. I am going to add some spaghetti sauce.

I had a small insight at last nights dinner. What if my new rule was to eat 3 baby carrots at each meal? That would be a decent amount of veggies each day and takes little shopping or prep. I am going to try it.

Peps so sorry your back is still being a B----! I have used the external CBD cream on my hands and it does help. But it does not have to get deep on my fingers so maybe advil is for you. They do have that topical advil, Voltarin, which does help. Methinks you need a big dose of pampering.

Well tomorrow I have to deliver this letter from the studio assault perp to the victim requesting mediation. Not sure how that will go. All of the difficulties with this guy over the years have been related to the garden area by the studio which he tends - issues of dogs in the garden or people walking in it or cutting plants. My latest idea is just to pave it all over and have extra parking.

Informal poll: would you shop at an art gallery that has a no return policy? Some gallery members are insisting on this but I think its stupid. We only get about 3 returns per year and if the item is undamaged, why not? Another tempest in the old teapot.

Well, time to go start the meatloaf on this beautiful sunny day. Maybe I will put carrots in it.

Carrots are good. And a no return policy posted when you hardly get any returns now will do more harm than good IMO (will turn people away before they buy).

I chuckled at "I think DH should count as 3". That is often the case.

I would never think to return artwork? But I like the way you're think on this. Why create a policy that isn't needed?
