Another insomniac night. I was exhausted but couldn't fall asleep and woke up early. 4-5 hours of sleep I think. Now that the SILs have left I think the reality of getting married in 4 days i****ting me. I am not scared exactly but just hoping this is the right thing to do (I had no doubt for quite a while so I need to just quiet my head).
There appears to be a weather change coming late today. The wind is coming from a different direction, there is a chance of storms and it is supposed to be cooler overnight (low 60s vs high 70s). Maybe we will be able to turn off the AC again during the day.
Today I need to do a bit of paperwork, make calls and we will take our usual long walk with Justice. He seems pretty happy here in the Florida warmth. I think Chihuahuas must be uniquely suited to this weather. I keep a large bowl of fresh water out for him all the time but he drinks way less than I would expect in this weather. The beagles would have inhaled the water in this sultry heat.
Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Well Liz, I would say being nomads together for months gives a pretty good indication of compatibility :) My family in Brazil also had a Chihuahua. Such a happy boy at the beach.
This morning I'm going to go over to our local mall and see what stores are still open. Its sadder each time I go. Did you know that Minnesota invented the enclosed mall? South dale opened in the late 50s in Edina, Minnesota. Its still going and is nicely updated. We live close to Mall of America 10-15 drive, but I don't typically go there. I thought our mall would whither when MOA was built, but it held its own for 20some years. Amazon and Covid brought it to its knees.
Not so weary today. My workout went pretty well, such as it is. Everyone starts somewhere, but boy, I'm not very strong. Nice to know I am getting stronger. Last night DH and I worked out, and picked up take out from Panera. Its nice to have options like Panera, if you can resist the baked goods, you can get a reasonably healthy meal.
Hope everyone has an amazing Saturday!
Chihuahuas have trouble regulating body temp. They are definitely a warm climate dog! I pulled this from a Chihuahua pet site
Wintertime Care Regarding Cold Temperatures
Out of all of the different dog breeds, it is perhaps the Chihuahua that has the most trouble with regulating body temperature. Being very tiny and with hardly any fat at all to insulate the body, Chihuahuas get cold very easily. Did you know that this is the main reason why Chihuahuas shake so much? It is not because they are nervous; it is due to feeling chilled. In addition, a Chihuahua can feel chilly in a house that seems perfectly warm enough to you. Cold drafts are mainly to blame for this. When a human is up on furniture, they may not realize that there are chilly spots near the floor where pets play and rest. Many owners do not realize how uncomfortable their Chihuahua was until they slip a shirt on their puppy or dog and then notice how much happier he/she seems to be.
Interesting! Justice really does love the warmth.

I went shopping, and it was dismal. I prefer buying clothes in person, and not online, but I'm out of options. Our mall looks positively post apocalyptic. I was there in January, trying to buy a dress for my niece's wedding (with no luck) and even more stores are gone. Even Old Navy. I'm going to have to get used to Mall of America or find some new Boutiques I like within my price range.
Greetings all
Sympathy to the insomniacs. I am also one and just surrender to the ambien. Not proud of that but I just do it.
Leftover fish and chips last night. A good dinner by my pathetic standards - ie I did not cook it.
Speaking of cooking, I need a new stove. The old one is a piece of junk and even though we don't cook much I still need one. Anybody have an electric induction cook top? DH wants to get that as he is into the latest groovey stuff but I don't want that. I would rather a gas stove but putting it in is an issue plus using natural gas is considered uncool around here. A regular electric works for me but the induction requires certain cookware and I just don't want to deal with it.
The studio assault issue is continuing to haunt me as I had feared. The perp wants me to meet with him to hear his side and deliver a letter to victim requesting mediation. I am not afraid of the guy (I out weigh him by a lot ) but will meet him at a coffee shop with DH along. Not clear who is to do this mediating but it ain't gonna be me. It all makes me anxious. I seem to end up being the mommie-vice principal on everything! Within a few minutes I get a call about $3 off in the cash register in the gallery and DG gets calls from his electronics impaired buddy who cant send an email. And the sales tax finger pointing is still going on. Then there is this war in Europe and its all making me very anxious.
And today I feel like a chihuahua - chilled. Its supposed to rain and get windy soon and the bays were completely fogged in yesterday. I need comfort food - maybe mac and cheese.
So doing something useful usually puts me in a better mood and today its laundry. Easier to justify sitting at the computer while cleaning is simultaneously occurring.
We will finally get to the hot and sour soup tonight with maybe some spring rolls.
DD my deepest sympathies on having to go to mall of America. Though I have never been there, its my worst nightmare. Hope you can find the dress you need. Shopping sucks.
Enough *****ing. Liz we are excited for your wedding and its certainly normal to have a few worries. But I think you two are a big hit and DD is right if you have done all that travel you are a good match.
CC wishing you bon voyage on your journey to get rid of stuff. I keep saving all this stuff to take to thrift shop but I think I should just tra**** Taking stuff to the dump is a big sin around here but if you don't, your house (my house) becomes the dump. Which it is, So go for it and don't look back.
My brother is decorating his new house with all this chic modern weird stuff. I love looking at the stuff. But I don't think he appreciates the how the red sofa will look with white dog fur on it!
Cheers all. I promise to be less crabby tomorrow.

Ugh, sorry you got caught up in assault guy meeting. Hopefully he just wants to "be heard". It is wise to meet in public and bring DH along.
I have the smoothtop, glass whatever you call it electric stove. I love how easy it is to clean. When my sister in law got one years ago (she a notorious non cook) we teased her she could keep it clean with her dustbuster. Induction sounds fun, but I would not want to replace all my cookware either.
Another first world problem, I am having trouble finding the Fair life Protein drinks. Costco has been out for weeks. I hear they have them at Sam's Club, but I don't have a membership. There was one four pack at the Wal-Mart near me, they are now chilling in my fridge, but 4 won't last long! I certainly have a lot of shopping woes today.
Well glad you got the last Fairlife. Word must be getting around that they don't taste like Elmers glue like the others do.
And yeah all I will do for the perp is listen to his side and maybe deliver letter. Hard for me to say no to the guy because he has been a friend for 20 years and painted my house and deck beautifully. A decent person who has gone over the edge.
Our current stove has an induction panel which has been on the stove for years. I could not get it to work and gave up. I gave DH the ancient stove instructions and he got it working! Who knew? But I still don't want to get rid of my nice copper bottom pans. ds
