The SILs arrived yesterday on time. We had lun*****ey West but headed back to our place by mid-afternoon. Apparently it is spring break time so everything is much busier than it was last week. Though the bars are mostly open air a lot of them were very crowded which the SILs were uncomfortable with. The SILs and I stayed up until midnight talking but Mike and Justice went to bed, LOL.

It is DS' birthday today. Last year I went home for it as it was his 30th. This year I sent his gifts. I will do an electronic card as well.

I think today will be a beach day. It is pretty muggy around right now - the great breeze we had the first few days has subsided so it feels a lot hotter.

Not much else to report. Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Temporary bad sleep cycle! Sleeping in is nice, but it doesn't make up for waking up over and over through the night.

My friend came over impromptu last night and we hung out and watched tv and giggled. It was fun!

Today I have therapy and need to run by Costco for Diet Coke. That habit is getting a bit out of hand, so I'm trying to sneak some water in in between to dilute it a bit!

Also planning to walk to keep up my short streak. I followed up on two pending medical things this morning (colonoscopy and thyroid scan) and still have nothing resolved or scheduled. Frustrating. It's miraculous enough for me to get myself to try to schedule this stuff that it's less than helpful when the doctors offices don't hold up their end of the bargain!

Liz, if you think the Keys are hot and humid, I feel confident saying I would likely hate it there!

My Diet Coke needs are out of control! I used to drink a lot of Diet Snapple, but it is super sweet, so I would dilute it with water. Half water, half Snapple ice tea tasted great to me, and was probably better for me than diet soda. But then Costco stopped selling Snapple and the addiction to Diet Coke was reborn.

Yes, they make it soooo hard to schedule appointments. Nobody wants a colonoscopy or a thyroid scan. They should be the easiest thing to schedule EVER, and while they're at it, they should send a driver round the day of to deliver you to the clinic.

Amen! I feel like if they knew how much I don't want to do these things and how hard it was for me to call in the first place, they be jumping through hoops to get me on their schedule! And yes, a ride would be lovely!

Spring break crowds had already started in St. Petersburg when we were there the end of February. I'm already making dinner reservations for our Orlando trip March 28- April 2. We had a hard time getting into restaurants in February, so I won't be fooled again.

Very few places take reservations around here. It is easier for them not to have to.

Greetings all

Another sunny day here for which we will pay in the summer. I did errands today including filing gallery tax return and similar nonsense. Studio time then stopped at the hippie grocery store for various things. I could not believe the crappy selection of granola they had. Really? Thats supposed to be most of what they sell. But I did find some good looking deli items including hot and sour soup for later. ***** du jour: this store has astonishingly difficult deli packaging. I had to get DH to do it and even then it was like a rubick;s cube. Two college educated people took 10 minutes to open the tuna salad!.

Liz glad your SIL's arrived safely. When I was married 27 years ago I remember a couple of days before feeling that I was on a runaway train because a chain of events had begun that I could no longer alter. Odd feeling. Hope you are having nothing but fun.

CC sounds like you had fun with your friend. The world could use more giggling. Ever watch "Tea with Mussolini"? A great chick flic which I remember fondly because I ditched work and house guests to watch with with girl friends.

And yeah, making a doctors appointment is becoming impossible. Our doctors are all owned by the hospital and they have this system where they will no longer make a follow up appointment while you are there; they say they will call you with it and then they never do. I had to show up in person to make a colonoscopy apt years ago and the psycho worker flipped though my file and then sent me away and then this all happened again. Needed some information which I got in a 2 minute phone call. I think she was on speed. Anyway I hope you can get your events scheduled soon so you can get through the icky diet.

Its dog pill day - hence my trip to the store to get liver sausage. Nothing else works and there is only one place that carries it regularly - the hippie grocery store.

Peps what flea stuff do you use? I think I found a dead flea on Poppy. The other two are on trifexis. Hence pill day.

I might have to stop watching the news. I am so angry about the Ukrainian invasion that I actually start thinking of horrible stuff I would like to say to Putin. Not a constructive activity.

Cheers all. Diane S

The news is searing, I generally do not drop tears, even when I want to, but I find myself crying, and feeling such despair at the senseless suffering, (again! So much needless pain in this world) and how impotent the whole world seems to be to stop it.

Yesterday I managed some extra sleep, so today felt better. DH was out with friends, so I didn't need to worry about dinner. I had a nice bowl of chili, courtesy of my friends at Wendys. I read the paper, and then I watched a crazy movie, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. It was on Hulu. Stars Kirsten Wiig and Jamie Dornan. A screwball comedy from the folks who brought us Bridesmaids.

DD is coming to visit on Saturday, and stay a few days. Its spring break for her master's program.

The weather is running 20 -30 degrees below normal, but a warm up is apparently on the way. One more subzero morning on tap. Not typical for mid March.

Tomorrow is Friday!!!!
