One wee****il our nuptials. All family members and important friends on my side have been called (remaining acquaintances can find out via FB later).

The 2 SILs arrive at noon on the ferry from Fort Myers to Key West. We plan to spend the afternoon and early evening there. They are staying for 2 nights/3 days.

DS sent me a lovely txt msg yesterday. It really made me feel good.

In contrast, Mike had an argument with the ex and was pretty upset about it most of the day even though she called later to apologize. It seems ridiculous after 16 years divorced and the kids all grown. Unfortunately it stems from her pleading poverty and not making any move out of his Cape house. She was supposed to stay there for a few months until she found another place but it has been 2 years now. And she apparently still doesn't have any idea what to do with herself which is also making her kids crazy. I feel sorry for her, but for a bright woman doesn't seem to have a clue about how to take charge of her life. BTW, she works full time as a nurse in addition to receiving half of Mike's pension and pays no rent or utilities to stay in the house.

Not much else to report. Time to get ready for a walk. We leave for Key West around 11.

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Mike's ex sounds like a lulu! I think you're gonna be stuck with her in some form or other for the foreseeable future. Sad that someone so capable in most areas is so dysfunctional in running her own life. Clearly, money is not the issue.

I am kind of in a same old, same old routine. My weight keeps going up and down maintaining right around 268-271.... But, it's the same range I've been in for 2 years, so it's nothing new and nothing alarming. I've enjoyed the few dips down into the low 260s, but they have not "stuck".....

Was wondering about Diane C. I don't think she works within the Minneapolis school system, but I sure hope not. Such a mess there with the strike. I'd sure like to know more details......

Not much else and the bell just rang, so.....

You're correct, I don't work in Minneapolis, I'm in a suburban school district. Our contract settled last month, and it was, in my mind, satisfactory. Minneapolis school district is a tough, tough place to teach. In tenured teachers are almost guaranteed to be laid off each year, and then invited to reapply for their jobs. Who needs that stress?

Tenured teachers???? Horrible!

Shoot, spell check turned non tenured into in tenured. They dismiss non tenured teachers every year, the result being, young teachers leave and there is tremendous staff turn over.

Greetings all

Oops, I missed yesterday. I finally made the ricotta bake with spinach. It was pretty good. I may have put too much spinach in since I just dumped in the whole tub and mixed it in the food processor. But what do you do with half a carton of fresh spinach? Yeah I know, let it compost in the veggie drawer. Anyway, I have not calculated protein or calories of the ricotta bake as I deviated from the original Eggface recipe. Plenty of salt needed.

Liz one wee****il wedding!! So exciting! I did not know there was a ferry from Ft. Meyers to the keys. That sounds like great fun as well. Sorry Mike's ex is being a poop. Some people just never get the hang of being a grown up.

DD I never thought about how proctoring a test could be so unpleasant but it sounds awful. At least the kids had something to be doing but all you could do was sit and watch and probably keep time. Glad you are done with that and had some R and R afterwards.

Signs of spring are out everywhere here. Loads of daffodils and other stuff like that, redbud trees, dogwoods and such. Seems like we got off really easy here for winter but if we don't get more rain the fires will be hideous this summer. A friend of mine is trying to sell an acreage inland and no one wants to buy it due to fire fear.

Yesterday was scrabble group and some studio time. I got a chicken sandwich from McDonalds and began to question my sanity for eating such a piece of S---. From now on, if I eat a sandwich, its going to be a good quality one from a deli and not one that eminates from a hole in a dumpy building.

More studio time today and continued investigation on why our sales tax payments didn't go through. Some serious finger pointing going on. Not worth the amount of time being wasted on the issue but it just drives me nuts not to figure out what happened.

Peps we are still loving Lucifer and watched two last night. Good to have a dependable source of fluff. Potato chips for the brain.

Cheers all.

5.25 mile walk this morning! I had a lousy night's sleep, so perhaps a nap in my immediate future...

How dull am I? The rest is just the usual - needing to clean things out and needing to get my tax stuff together. And needing to eat better. At least I've started back to walking! Ooh, I did get a taker for my Cuisinart ice cream machine. So one more appliance down...
