We had a good day yesterday: A long walk with Justice though the neighborhood, then a visit at a farmers market. We stopped and had bloody Mary's at the local tiki bar with shrimp, bacon and celery in them - breakfast? We went out to lunch and met a couple who are 1 year younger than me. They met 2 days before us via an online dating site. The woman had a house for years near Mike's on Cape Cod. The woman and I share the same birthday and she also has 2 adopted children. So many parallels! We really enjoyed chatting with them. And it sort of validated our timeline as they are combining households now too. We all agreed that life is short!

We ate at the house last night and just as we were finishing what felt like a monsoon came through blowing rain straight at the back of the house and into the screen porch where were sitting. I have never experienced anything that sudden before. The porch was soaked including all the furniture pads last night when we went to bed but the wind blew all night and dried them out.

Today we are meeting with the wedding "planner" to finalize details in Key West. We will probably go to a couple of local spots and maybe grab dinner there.

Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Interesting couple you met. Another benefit of traveling, I think about all of the interesting conversations I've had with people along the way on various trips.

We so enjoyed Cyrano. The cinematography was stunning, sensual and lush. My daughter asked me if it was too sad, and I would say, beautifully, achingly sad.

If you haven't seen Belfast, I also highly recommend it. Its months since I saw it, and I'm still thinking about it.

Yesterday I started watching Inventing Anna. I almost never do this, but I binged 5 episodes, ignoring most of my chores. I might try to fini**** today, further ignoring my chores.

Well, whatever activity I am going to use to avoid sweeping the dining room and kitchen floor, I best get to it! :)

What a lot of coincidences with that couple, Liz!! Sounds like you were meant to meet. We get those storm fronts coming off the lake in Michigan. If the doors aren't latched correctly, it'll blow them open and blow rain and papers two rooms deep into the house.

The soup was yummy last night. I have enough for today as well. Laundry today and making room in the cupboards for small appliances I want to keep by getting rid of stuff I don't need.

That's about it for me!

Good Morning All

Start of the working week again already but I did have a great weekend. Last week was a shocker with DH Car Accident, hectic work schedule and a Thursday night wedding which saw me getting to bed well after 1am on a "school night" It was a great night though - I just had to remember that when 5am rolled around - way too fast. Im thankful I dont drink anymore else I likely would have felt even worse ha ha ha

Saturday I finally gave myself permission to be still and still I was. I woke early but napped mid morning, I lay on my bed most of the day and read an entire book. No cooking, no housework - simply the bare minimum and boy I needed it. Sunday I was able to finally share my mums 80th birthday gift - a macrame workshop. It was wonderful to be able to do something together. And even moreso to see her out of isolation. We had a family catch up at our house last night and it was wonderful. Im happiest when I have my family with me.

Liz- Your wedding venue looks like a postcard - its perfect and so beautiful. I am so very happy for you

DD- I have that show on my list too but maybe I had best not star****ching it yet - I too tend to stay up way too late and binge watch if I find a show I love.

CC - Hope you had a good purge day :) Always feels so good o get rid of stuff

Hello and love to all that follow. I had best get back into work. Thank you also for the lovely comments on my fb profile picture. Those two little men make my heart burst with happiness.I am proud to be there Nanna

Greetings all

Sitting here slogging through the gallery tax returns. Trying to be extra careful since I made a boo boo on last years. The california return is harder than the federal. They made some dumb laws about net operating loss carry overs and assume it must have been because you got burned down and they have a separate code for every disaster in CA of which there are many. Stupid stupid. But its pretty well done. So glad I no longer have a real job.

DD I am hoping to watch Becoming Anna and also Belfast. We are in the last season of Ozark which we love. So bizarre. I have been to Lake of the Ozark a few times and its fun to see the views even if most are trailers. Finished up All Creatures and Resident Alien at least for now. We are tv junkies.

Liz that is so amazing that you met that couple with all the parallel experiences. Nice and very fun. And weird about that monsoon! Mother nature is surely in charge and chooses to remind us once in a while.

Shirley so good to hear from you. Glad you had a rest day - you so deserve it. Hope your son is getting over the car accident. Love your farm stories and hearing about life down under.

DD are you feeling any stronger? Becoming a gym rat!! LOL

Tonight I am making a spinach ricotta bake for dinner. Actually just that ricotta bake from that person on OH whose name escapes me but with some spinach tossed in. No flour or pasta. Might be good. Might be a hockey puck. Or dog dinner.

Not much else. One of these days I need to get serious about healthy eating and exercise as I sure am feeling achey and old. One of these days....
