Two weeks to the wedding!

This place is awesome! It took 6 hours to drive here as route 1 is a one lane road through the keys and we were on the same schedule as everyone else arriving on the 1st for the month of March. We have a marsh on one side over which the sun sets and the master bedroom and top deck overlook that. On the other side we can watch the sunrise from a screened porch overlooking a canal. Two sets of double sliders push back into the wall to open up the main floor kitchen, dining and living room to the screened porch. The lowest level where the entry door is has a patio with chairs, picnic table and grill and backs up to a dock on the canal (with chairs). Up one flight to the main level is the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom and spare bedroom. Up one more flight to a sitting area with a pullout couch, a huge master bedroom and master bath. I think Justice felt a little overwhelmed yesterday by the size of it. Our last 2 rentals and my place in Florida are 1200 feet or smaller on one floor.

We ate at a Tiki bar in walking distance with great food and live music. We didn't walk though as we would have to cross the main road (route 1) in the dark which didn't seem safe. We are somewhere around mile marker 28 (mile marker 0 is in Key West). Today we will do a bit of exploring - it may be cloudy but right now it is wonderful to sit on the porch and watch a few boats come down the canal.

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Getting pre wedding jitters yet, Liz? second thoughts.... wink, wink....LOL!

My back is feeling close to normal, but now my left achilles tendon is sore. I think my entire damn body is having to adjust to the spinal decompression and realignment of my spine and neck.

Made breakfast for dinner so Ron could have Fat Tuesday food. Poor guy worked all day on slide shows and worship aids for Ash Wednesday (today). I figured he was entitled to some kind of Mardi Gras after being so focused on Lent, so pancakes from scratch it was! (Much better than the box mix!)

Not much else except the same old, same old thoughts.

I have an inflammation/pain I have chased around my body with physical therapy: Ankle, knee, hip, other ankle... It probably does have something to do with realigning one part, only to have another part have to start doing it's job and protesting...

My doctor called about my thyroid ultrasound results. She said the nodules need to be biopsied for cancer before any discussion of surgery or ablation (ethanol injections). And before biopsy, she wants another radioactive uptake scan, which requires 2 weeks of a low iodine diet. Everything good has iodine! (Except Diet Coke!) Here's the okay foods list:

-Non-iodized salt
- Egg whites
- Homemade bread made with non-iodized salt and oil (not soy!) instead of butter or milk or commercially-baked breads which do not contain iodate dough conditioners, dairy, or eggs
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Frozen vegetables
- Grain, cereal products and pasta without high iodine ingredients
- Canned fruit
- Natural unsalted nuts and nut butters (peanut, almond, etc)
- Sodas, beer, wine, lemonade, fruit juices
- Coffee or tea. But remember, no milk or cream and no soy-based non-dairy creamer!
- Popcorn popped in vegetable oil or air popped, with non-iodized salt
- Black pepper, fresh or dried herbs and spices, all vegetable oils
- Sugar, jam, jelly, honey maple syrup
- Matzoh crackers

I suppose that's one way to lose a few pounds!

Yesterday I sold two Lego sets and my Instantpot on NextDoor. Baby steps.

When black pepper deserves it's own bullet point, you know the list is short!

"The highest sources (and those to be avoided) are iodized salt, grains and cereals, some breads, fish from the sea, shellfish, beef, poultry, pudding mixes, milk and milk products."

Summary:
No iodized salt
No dairy products or foods containing dairy products
No foods from the sea
Limited grain products (ie noodles, pasta, pastries) - 1 slice bread, ½ cup pasta daily
Limited amounts of beef, chicken and turkey

So "limited" amounts?

No cream or non-dairy creamer in coffee may kill me first!
