We are leaving Vegas. We actually had a great day walking around yesterday. The restaurant was wonderful last night: great food, wine, and service. Our table was right next to the musical, lighted fountains at Bellagio (I will post a video on FB). The Cirque du Soleil show O was fantastic and we were in the center of the fifth row. We ended the night listening to a wonderful piano player playing Billy Joel, Elton John and other similar music. We did NO gambling (not even a slot machine though I was planning on doing that). I don't feel inclined to go back anytime soon though as it was so crowded and expensive. The charges that the hotel imposed were absolutely ridiculous. But worth going once anyway.
We have a 5 hour drive ahead but then can pick up Justice and relax for the evening. Tomorrow we have errands and packing to do in preparation for our flight to Florida on Sunday.
Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Liz, what a wonderful evening!!!!! It will be so nice to have your boy back with you. I always am so happy to be back with my pack after being away from them for any length of time.
I read a brief article on low self esteem being reinforced on a daily basis because of the self imposed rules we all live with. Struck a chord....
Not much else. I'm still recovering from the effects of a tough week at school, a tough week emotionally, and a tough week with pain.
I hope your weekend brings you some relief. Yes, it is great to be back here with Justice. He does well at this place (stayed twice this month). He comes home happy and with normal behavior. He clearly was eating while there so he must have felt comfortable.

Good Morning All, change of plans yesterday- Due to flooding DH is flying home today- they couldnt complete the driving component of the course. He should be here about 6pm so we are driving up to the farm tonight. Hes now home for 2 weeks...
I plan to get some jobs done around here. Then will make something we can all eat before we drive to farm. Puppies will be glad to see him too
Liz- Im with you re Vegas- it was good to see but I wouldnt go back. I went for the Grand Canyon. Loved that. Was good people watching though. Always something going on.
Peps- biggest hugs to you. I hope you get some time to be still n rest body & mind xx
Love to all that follow. I had best go make my DS a bacon n egg roll before he goes to do his Nans grocery shopping for me. I dont want to go near her with this chest thing.

Greetings all
Just emerged from my new shower and boy am I happy with it. No step, plenty of grab bars and room. I only wish the shower head was greater flow but I guess they are all low flow these days. DH especially likes the shower wand since some of us sort of have flaps of loose skin. So today is wash everything day: dishes, clothes and people. But not dogs.
DH is off on errands. He was helping a friend unsnarl computer issues, the hardest part of which is finding a human being to talk to. I tell people he is a tech angel since he helps old people figure out their computer/electronic issues (me included). Now he is off to lunch and costco and I get to control the TV. I just cant stop watching the war news in Europe even though it is horrific.
Liz glad you had some good shows and fun in LV. Some people just adore that place including our friend who just lost his wife. He loves being by the pool all day. Also video poker. But there are casinos here so go figure.
Peps sorry you have the blues. Its going around these days. Why do we all spend so much time building our own prisons? Hug a dog!
Gallery duty tomorrow. We are still on winter shorter hours but likely I will end up staying late if its a sunny day and people are still coming in.
Not much else. I am planning on eating a bowl of broccoli soon.

There was no pool while we were there. It was cold (below 50 all day)!

The first time I went to Vegas, I thought one and done. We stayed at Ballys, which is owned by Caesars Palace. They didn't even have umbrellas at the pool, you had to rent them! On 108 degree days. And you had to walk through a market to get to the pool, with people harassing you to try their skin lotion. We had a good time, but I didn't plan on going back. Fast forward to last year, and a so affordable package came our way for Spring break, so we tried it again. This time we stayed at the Venetian, and really enjoyed it. I judge hotels by their pools, and the pools there are simply lovely, and the service amazing. So now I would go back, but only if I stay there.
Peps, I hope you have a restorative weekend. I worry that your treatment might be exacerbating your pain, is it one of those situations where you have to be hurt to get better?
Ocean Diane, I am so longing to relocate like you have! I have work here that I still must do, but a sunny escape will happen in the next few years.
Shirl, get better! Its good news that others in your family can help out your Mom too. You do so much. I hope the unexpected time with DH is a good thing for you both.
CC sounds like you arrived at the nonprofit at just the right time if people are receptive to righting the ship.
Diane F, its nice to imagine you working in your sunny space, creating something beautiful.
DS seems to be coping with his heartache as well as can be expected. I feel a little traitorous that I think it's for the best. I tried so hard with his girlfriend, I really wanted to be something good in her life, but she was not an easy person.
School was fine these 2 days, but I am surely counting the days until the next escape to sunny, warm weather the end of March. Its been single digit temps before and after our trip. We can all be grateful here that it will be warming into the low 30s this weekend!
