A fun numbers day! 2-22-22. At work, our principal came up with the idea that she will break into class via the intercom today at 2:22 pm and announce a dance party that will last 2 minutes and 22 seconds. I am not sure if the students will actually get into it. Kind of glad I don't have to lead a groaning group of reluctant 9th graders in the Cupid Shuffle.
Another postcard perfect day here. It is crowded in St. Pete. Yesterday morning we tried to make a reservation for a restaurant we want to try, and the earliest we could get was 9pm today! First world problem. We drove into a much more residential area last night to find a restaurant with open seating, and that worked fine.
So today, some lizarding by the pool instead of the beach. Then a trip over to mainland St. Petersburg for a late dinner.
Enjoy 2222 Tuesday!!!

It's my 5 year surgiversary. I was more excited about where I was last year as this year is coinciding with a loss of the reins when it comes to my eating and therefore my weight. I did manage to weigh myself. 204. How did I let that happen in such a short period of time? At the end of November I was in the low 180s. Ugh. Nothing to do but focus on fixing the behaviors that got me here, much of which is stress and "what the hell, it's already bad" thinking.
I'm supposed to talk in our board meeting this afternoon about my concerns with the organization. MI guy set up a meeting yesterday with a local neighbor with a lot of experience with large community endowment funds. First, Mi guy didn't show up for the call and I had to call him. He was so checked out I basically had the whole meeting with the man. The man would ask MI guy a question and would have to repeat it because he clearly wasn't listening. Embarrassing, I thought. I am very concerned he's going to leave me to do all the speaking in the meeting and I don't want to be left out on a limb alone. When did this become my crusade? Nice reminder though of why we are and will remain just friends. He's only present when it suits him, not when I need him. He told me he was disappearing Sunday because he needed to work, which is an improvement over just disappearing and leaving me to wonder, but it's not normal behavior. A bit like a method actor who becomes someone else to fulfill a role, checking out of their own life, then wanders back in when they feel like it.
On an up note, after the ghosting of the first electrician and calling several more and being told they could get to me in March or later, I found one who was so pleasant and helpful and could put me on their emergency list. Hopefully, they can do it today and it's not during my board meeting.
Anyway, that's what's going on in my world...
Happy Surgiversary, CC!
Still fighting back pain and emotional blues.... Nothing super unusual for me, I suppose. Weight was still up today, despite a decent day of eating. I thought I might lose a bit of water weight, but no such luck. Must soldier on.
Puppy gets her 2nd round of vaccines today. I get a haircut. Other than that, not much else going on.
Our February false spring has receded. We are back to cold, chilly days. Looking forward to mid March for the next warm up.
It is Tutu Tuesday here at school. Not too many participants. I DID NOT wear a tutu. Just couldn't be the fat, gay guy in a tutu. Too cliche! Plus, it would have clashed with my lumbar support brace!
Happy Surgiversary CC! You've dealt with regain before and you can get back to where you want to be. I hope all of us can when we are ready. Good luck with the meeting.
I am so glad you are continuing to have a glorious vacation DD.
We just missed the snow and had a fabulous hike this morning down 1.5 miles and 11 feet in elevation. AND then back up again. At this altitude the up was harder than usual but we had some gorgeous views and the weather held out for us. I had bought a small cheese packet and some peanuts to eat beforehand and that was actually perfect. I needed something (to avoid bing "hangry" as Ocean Diane put it), but didn't want the big breakfast they serve in the restaurant at our hotel as that is too much in my digestive system before a hike for me to feel comfortable.
It is actually snowing slightly outside now and there is supposed to be 2-8 inches overnight. I would assume they are pretty efficient at dealing with snow on the roads as is the case in most states where snow is predictable. I hope so because we are hoping to get on the road between 8 and 9 tomorrow morning heading for Las Vegas. We are either stopping at the Hoover Damn tomorrow or on Friday on our way back to Scottsdale.
I will have the opportunity to weigh in Florida when we stay with SIL for 2 nights before heading to the Keys for the month of March. I feel like I haven't gained (though I'm sure I didn't lose), but I am still VERY afraid of that scale.
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Update, electricity has been restored! It wasn't the breaker, but one plug that had loose wiring. All the plugs on a circuit are on a relay, so one goes bad, the rest stop working. He did say (which I hadn't heard before), the recommendation is to change out the plugs every 20 years. My house is in its 17th year, so it's getting there. If nothing else, it would get rid of all the yellowing plugs in the house! Let's leave that chore for the next owners though.
