I can't swallow the calcium horse pills (gag on them). I looked into the "petite" ones but then you have to swallow a gazillion of them. So I use the calcium chews which are expensive but at least I can get them down. Since I have osteopenia I feel like it is necessary.

I am back from the dog shows. I can't complain about how Blitz did overall in placements, but he was really off his game. He struggled this weekend. He's going through some type of anxiety in the ring. Not sure what to do about it except keep plugging away. It's like he has performance anxiety.... stage fright, if you will.
My back is a mess and I am feeling depressed. I took it very easy today. I only went out for my spinal decompression and cold laser therapy. Lucky me, got 2 chiropractic adjustments - one before and one after decompression treatments. I am hoping to feel better tomorrow.
Forgot to order my PPI, so I'm taking some expired Zantac I have on hand for just such occasions. It is doing the trick - barely. Pick up the prescription for Protonix tomorrow. TG!
My weight is up b'day celebratory eating, dog show weekend and no exercise. Probably not helping with my mood, but I think most of the sour mood is due to pain. I can live with that.
Back to work tomorrow.
Sorry about Blitz. Hopefully just growing up anxiety!
I have never been to a chiropractor - I have stuck with orthopedists. Any thought of getting second opinions? Just a question as I have no idea what I am talking about. I have had several friends who have had back issues and have tried multiple solutions with mixed success.

In general I don't have what I would call back problems. Every so often my back "goes out" or I have intense muscle spasms in my back. I grew up with a personal Orthopedic doctor because of my bone disease. It was the utter lack of western medicine being able to do anything to help me and my joint issues that led me to chiropractic care. A good chiropractor is worth every penny spent! A bad chiropractor, not so much.
One of my friends swears by acupuncture and deep massage by someone who learned in Asia. She had 3 previous back surgeries.
