Poor Justice seems to be suffering from dry sinuses like me. He has been snorting a lot. I am boiling water on the stove this morning as an old fashioned humidifier to see if it will help.

The dress search continues but I think I have some good options. Dress #3 (lace sheath) was cancelled because the store couldn't find it and the manufacturer isn't making it anymore. So I found an alternative lace sheath at Nordstrom that was in stock here and went yesterday to try it on (along with some others I saw). I really liked it probably more than the original one. I also bought a slightly used one through Poshmark from the same designer as the original one for 20% of the price so now I have 4 alternatives. I am leaning away from the simple one with the low cut neckline as I'm not sure any fix will work well enough. Try-on of all will be done at the end of the month in Florida. The other positive is that I found a ring I like in Scottsdale though I want to look in Sedona again before making a final decision. It is silver with lapis inlay done by a known Indian designer and will make a pretty temporary wedding ring and longer term memory of Arizona.

We had a good hike yesterday here - probably the last in Scottsdale. We are hiking in Sedona today on our day trip, then leave for the Grand Canyon on Sunday. I am kind of looking forward to getting back to Florida and though we won't be in our own place at least we will be staying more still other than going to the beach (oh yeah, and getting married).

Weight is probably stable (clothes fit the same), but I sure wish I was in an environment to buckle down and lose some weight. Traveling is just not conducive to weight loss.

Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Windy dry day!

I got on the scale. The horror. I was thinking about my incessant grazing and it brought me back to thoughts about equilibrium (what I wish I had, but I swing from extreme to extreme). I've been craving sweets - ice cream, cake, cookies kind of stuff. When I get them, then I crave salt - chips, fast food, nuts, cheese, crackers. I eat those and switch back to craving sweets. It's like I'm trying to find equilibrium but it can't be found swinging wildly between sweet and salty. It can be found in stopping the grazing and choosing healthy options like protein and veggies/fruit. (I know nuts can be healthy, but not how I do it). Because I love an analogy, it's like burning my hand, then shoving it into ice water, then burning it again because it's cold from the ice water. I need to stop dwelling in extremes.

I have my therapist this afternoon (how timely!) and need to clean up some spreadsheets to send for a meeting next week. I might walk. But that's all if I can get away with it!

Take care!

Greetings all

New members please join in. Introduce yourself and tell us your maintenance concerns. We will help. Also we will entertain you.

However not much entertainment by me today. I actually got up kind of early - dogs crowded me out of bed now that Puppy #3 can get up there and spends the time running in circles. Not restful.

Working on the tax return for the gallery and trying to unsnarl some stuff. Whoever invented accounting anyway?

I am lobbying DH to take a load of green waste over to the green dump. We have a number of bags of the stuff in the garage, composter is full and garage space is needed. If I cant get him to do that then its off to the studio and maybe the grocery store. Eating prepared deli items means you run out frequently.

More later after adventures at the dump.

Started out 8 degrees today. Perfect time to head to Florida. All my clothes are packed. I try so hard to not bring an excessive amount, but I just can't help myself. Its like I want to wear all my summer clothes in the 5 days we're there, when what will really happen is I will be in a swimsuit and cover up for most of the day and won't wear half the clothes I packed.

I pack the same way! I end up bringing as much as can fit even when I have good intentions to pack light.

I went to Italy for 15 days with a carry on and an under the seat bag. I'm still not sure how I did it. But it was awesome not hauling a bunch of stuff from hotel to hotel. I guess in this case, I'm not switching locations. I'm still only bringing a carry on, but it is stuffed...

I seem to be becoming more skin/hair care product intensive as I get older. Cleansers, day creams, night creams, body creams, face serums, hair gels, anti-frizz serums, hairspray, brushes, makeup, bulky electric toothbrush, plus all the things I might need but I'm not sure but I know I'd be mad if I needed it and didn't have it... yada, yada, yada. I feel like all of that stuff ends up taking half my suitcase! I'm becoming less low maintenance by the day...

YES! The toiletries take up a lot of room and weight!
