And we are back in the airport again! This time with Justice which adds complication to the stuff we are carrying. We are in first class for this trip but have to change flights in Atlanta with a 2 hour layover. I guess we can grab a snack and take Justice to the pet "relief station".
We had a good quick visit with DD, DS, and SIL last evening and were in bed just after 8 since we were already sleep deprived and had to get up at 5 this morning. Good news: SIL is booked to go to Florida from 2/6-3/17. She and my other close SIL will visit Mike and I in the Florida Keys in early March. Her DS, DIL, and grandson will probably visit her while she is there as well.
Time to drink my pre-flight coffee. Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Liz, you amaze me ! Our frenetic traveler gets us started ! I am grateful to report that in our two months here we have walked on the beach all but two days. Even though I have Sadie from 95 pounds down to 85, I have to be honest that her explosive exuberance upon seeing a dog, squirrel, bird, starfish is challenging to handle. At 138, the lower end of my range it can be challenging to anchor myself. I try to maintain enough slack in her lead to prepare for lunges, but I refuse to let go of the lead if she starts to pull me down. I am perfecting my dive tuck, roll. Just. So. Strong

I used to volunteer walking dogs at the animal shelter in Florida (which is where I adopted Justice from). I weighed about 120 then and found out that I could barely hold the bigger, more rambunctious dogs if they tried to take off. Think of us flapping at the end of a leash like a kite Diane! LOL -- I learned not to take the bigger ones out but left the guys to handle them.

Your story reminds me of my horseback riding days. I rode bareback a lot, so it was easier to take a spill. I too perfected the tuck and roll, and while I was falling I could hang onto the reins. I learned to do that, because if I dropped the reins, I had a long walk home :) And yes, you cannot drop your lead. Or you may find out just how fast you can run!
How long are you in AZ, Liz?
I was the happy recipient of another cortisone injection yesterday. The doc went in from the other side of the knee this time and it was a bit painful as he stuck the hypodermic in the space between the two bones. But, once the lidocaine and cortisone got in there, it was fine. I have great hopes for this treatment. Combined with a new treatment plan from the new chiropractor and new prescription orthotics for my feet, my hope is that the injection will be the last bit of medical treatment I need for my knee. I am doing all I can to avoid going down the surgical path.
Tracking the little bit of food yesterday seemed to help my thinking, too. I realized I was eating just a little more than necessary. Funny how the calories creep up with stealth and I don't even realize how much I've increased them over time. Weight dropped in response. Or at least that's what I think and I'm sticking with it!
I am ready to say bye bye to the pups.... I love them, but at this age they are a lot of work.... I am looking forward to having just my little one to raise. I think she has the potential to be a fierce competitor, which is very exciting to me!
I am in one of those spaces in which I am a "pondersome, crazy quilt". I am actively trying to avoid magical thinking of the diet world - you know, looking for the next best thing.... the answer to all the troubles of my "fat life". Yet, I am dealing with an old internal vision of me being happy eating a plate of chicken and broccoli and feeling well sated and happy.... That is such BS because that is so NOT me!!!!! I am making attempts at switching foods around so I am including more things - especially fresh fruits and veggies.... I bought a bag of delicious Cara Cara oranges and a bag of ****tail cucumbers at Costco last night in an attempt to add a few more things to the food routine. I'm also upping protein portions to 5-6 oz.... I know sounds like a lot to you tiny sleevers, but believe me, that is an okay portion for me. I haven't been at the 3 oz portion for quite a few years.
Well, must get on with my day.... too much to do today including packing for AZ. Just a quick in and out trip Wednesday to Thursday for a judging assignment for the Sun Valley Terrier Club.... But I have to get everything ready today since I will drive to the airport from school tomorrow and not stop off at home first.
I need to look into cortisone for my shoulders. Carrying bags and Justice remind me of how painful they can be.
We are in AZ for essentially the entire month. Our next flight (to Florida) is on 2/27. We will stay at my place for a couple of days, then drive to our March rental in the keys on 3/1.

Greetings all
Day two of bathroom remodel. Still noisy but they are working hard. Already several change orders as this house has wires and vents in unexpected places. Also adding another bathroom fan. Oh well. Its only money. I am impressed with how steadily these guys work. Some of the new stuff has arrived today. For the moment both bathrooms are out of commission as the new fan is going into the second one. Good thing I have no urges at the moment. I could go over to the gym but their trucks are blocking the cars in.
Enjoy Arizona. Do look for that cactus botanical garden. I remember it as wonderful.
Dogs are still in kitchen purgatory and not happy. But there is no way they would behave and not run out the front door.
Speaking of dogs, some giant dog left an enormous poop in our front yard and the contractors stepped in it and tracked it onto their tarps in the house. Geez.
Beef soup has run its course so must go to store for dinner items and also to drugstore. Hope the trucks get moved here at lunch.
Peps glad you have some relief on your knee. Cortisone is wonderful stuff. And a judging assignment!!! Yay for you. The sport needs good judges. Good plan to make small eating changes.
Oh boy, now the water is being shut off. How primitive.
Yay ocean diane on beach walks. So good for you both. A high quality leather leash is easy on the hands if you have an active dog. Ditto deerskin gloves.
Take care all. Diane S
The prep is absolutely the worst part - the procedure is much easier!
