Good morning from Franklin, TN! This is the cutest town I have seen in a long time. Love it. 20 miles south of Nashville. It has an old circle in the middle of town, gorgeous buildings and houses, restaurants and boutiques everywhere you look. No wonder Californians are flocking here - it looks like a Hallmark movie set.

Today I'm headed in Fayetteville, AR, another really pretty town where the University of Arkansas is located. Lots of Walton money has brought a lot of cultural things to the area.

Drive yesterday was great. Clear blue skies despite being below freezing the whole way. Hoping the same for today. I found a car wash at a gas station yesterday for my poor salt and dirty-ice-in-the-wheel-wells crusted car. Feels better!

Take care all!

We stayed in Franklin once on a road trip to Panama City. We liked it too. Further north, back towards Nashville was Andrew Jackson's Hermitage. I love touring historic homes. Enjoy your road trip explorations. You see so much more driving.

Another good night's sleep. We are meeting our son and his gf for brunch, then will start for home. Not quite a road trip as we have driven this section of interstate 94 3 million times, and have peed at every rest stop at one time or another. We'll pass through Eau Claire, Paula's city.

Tomorrow is a workshop day, and our principal said we can work from home. That feels awesome, knowing I can roll out of bed and start work with a cup of tea in my pajamas.

BFF was going to leave our house and stay with her son and his family until Tuesday when she flies out. Her son's family has Covid, so she'll still be at our house when we return. Sigh. And one of DD's lovely friends volunteered to drive her to the airport on Tuesday because we are all working.

Have a happy, restful Sunday!!

I'm glad your drive is going well. I have never been to Nashville or anywhere in Tennessee. It sounds like a cool place to visit.

We leave in an hour or so for breakfast, some gift shopping, then heading for the airport for a 4:30 pm flight. I am assuming that Logan Airport will be fully functional by 7 am tomorrow when we land. At least I hope so. I have been up since 4:30 am hoping I will be tired enough to sleep on the plane.

So Mike just told his best friend he was getting married while I was typing this. Last night we discussed some logistics/expenses. We will basically elope but have a party on Cape Cod with friends/family afterwards. He will buy me a ring, I will pay for a honeymoon, and we will split the cost of the party. I guess he really is going to do it! Perhaps he just didn't want to talk about it until he was ready??

Time to finish packing! Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Greetings all

Franklin Tennessee sounds wonderful CC. My grandparents lived in a small town in south west Tennessee for years. I thought it was so cool you could walk to the downtown and I so remember the little grocery storefronts. Enjoy. It is indeed a beautiful part of the country. It was near the Tennessee river, which is huge, and my grandfather was an electrician at a TVA power plant. Lots of fishing.

Well Liz, it probably just took some getting used to by Mike. Be glad he is not a person who makes snap decisions. Wishing you the best in all your plans. What part of Arizona?

Yay DD a pj day. I was in a zoom meeting and was glad to see someone in pajamas at 1 pm. Its a sign our civilization is progressing. I remember being a little kid and having to always wear a dress or skirt to school even though it was freezing cold. So stupid.

Studio buddy is supposed to come watch football today but I have not heard from her. Its possible she will ditch because the weather is nice. Ok by me. We are emptying crap out of the bathroom for remodelers. Found a 12 year old bottle of liquid vicodin from Dr. Cirangle from my VSG. I think we can get rid of that.

Still watching the neighbors move in. You can tell I am old because I think this is some kind of show. Truck is gone and now garage is on full display to the neighborhood. Someday I will do over to say hello, after all the hard work is done.

Made the soup. Dogs love it. Poppy got most.

Eggs on english muffin today and soup tonight. I can be happy with this stuff.

Cheers Diane S

Diane, no Mike generally doesn't make snap decisions though he did move fast in all the earlier stages of our relationship (but was willing to back off when I was hesitant for a bit).

We have rented a condo in Old Town Scottsdale. Like Hawaii we will be making side trips to Sedona, the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. But we have until 2/9 to rest up a bit after we arrive there tomorrow.

Whirlwind of a weekend. One pup gone, Ron's b'day yesterday - lovely dinner with my BFF, Aunty Kathryn, his sis and BIL. I took him today to get a mani pedi at a place with a "menu"! One can choose the exact type of pedicure desired, whi*****ludes aroma therapy. He loved it! Not gonna lie, I enjoyed it, too.

Started with a new chiropractor on Friday. Mine moved to AZ in October and I have been putting off routine care, which is probably not good - especially since my knee is acting up again. Feet have been scanned, xrays ordered, and off we go.... Chiropractor also talked to me about weight. Closed the door and talked to me privately about being overweight and finding support and success with OA. Not exactly what I was expecting.... but, nothing really bothers me about the weight topic any more, so I just took it all in.

After looking at my foot scans, I'm seriously considering going back to wearing prescription/custom orthotics.

Safe driving CC. Tennessee sounds lovely.

DD - glad you had a nice weekend with Son and his gf.

Diane S - when do the contractors start in earnest?

Liz - Happy planning. Sounds like marriage is sorting itself out.

Maybe so - it seems to be moving somewhat forward. My DD asked me last night if Mike and I were going to get married and I had to hedge a bit though I did tell her we were talking about it.
