Peps

Hi all, here's the placeholder post for today.

My weekend was exhausting, but fun. I had company from Friday night through Sunday night: Liza's mama and my friend Sheila, both from Washington state. We took the pups to the grand dame of Airedales in CA on Saturday and then hosted a puppy party yesterday. I posted pics on FB and now there is sudden interest in the litter. One of the boys just may be going to New Zealand. LOL!

Eating was off, but not horrid, all weekend.

Nutritional Therapist wants me to keep notes on my thoughts about losing weight. We are both feeling that I'm nearing action stage, which scares the heck out of me, because of my diet history.

Pictures from this weekend were hard to swallow, too. I have such a disconnect with how I actually appear. I feel so strong and confident most of the time and seeing photos makes me feel so disjointed and unconnected with my real appearance. Old negative tapes get switched on and my mind becomes a swirling cloud of self doubt and denigration. I did not allow myself to get carried away in those thoughts, so that's a big plus! I also remind myself that I am choosing to be overweight right now. I am allowing myself time to work through a lot of my major weight and food dysfunction issues so that I can have some LONG TERM success in the future. This part of my life is such a maelstrom!

I am looking forward to spring. Our spring usually starts in late February, so just weeks away. Pups will all be gone by the first weekend in February - except may New Zealand pup.... We shall see...

Hope we are all in for a good week.

Hi everybody! 8"+ of fresh powdery snow here. I walked with MI guy on the beach and through the woods with his dog. We seem to be managing as friends thus far.

I've been very snacky the last few days. Argh. Not much else going on. I've gotten very good at putting on compression socks!

Have to ask two questions, because I AM who I AM!

  1. Why doesn't his wife help your dad with his compression socks?
  2. Does your dad have gnarly old man feet or are they okay? Nice feet would make the sock job so much more palatable....

Ha! She has no grip strength in her right hand right now after breaking her wrist. Can't even squeeze a nail clipper, so compression socks are a no go. Hopefully his swelling stops soon (usually something he gets after surgery, but not an ongoing issue). And his feet aren't awful especially given he's 80 and could have terrible ones, but I don't like touching ANYONE else's feet!

Ditto on the feet of others. Shoe sales would be my worst nightmare. ds

Greetings all

Another slow and sunny day here. I stopped at the studio for a bit and picked up some things. Had to visit the accountant office for studio payroll and financials. I enjoy looking at financial statements. I need to get a life.

Ooooh Peps, a puppy to new zealand. How cool. And your litter is now getting the credit it deserves for being first rate. Kudos. I hope you will keep us posted on Miss Fuchsia. My fave.

Anybody use Slack as a message service? Our gallery is going to start it. Communication has been non existent.

DH wants to binge watch the first season of Resident Alien. But the thing is we already watched it, I think he likes it so much he wants to see it again. Oh well. I would rather watch Lucifer and also the new season of All Creatures.

CC a load of snow! Its fun if you don't have to shovel. And yeah I think a lot of people have trouble with compression socks but they are worth it. I have seen these sort of handles one can use to pull them on but probably more trouble than good. I remember getting stuff for my mom at this one store for elder care supplies and they had a huge selection of patterns and colors. Made me want some. Well sort of..

Different deli pot pie tonight. Beef. We are so addicted to these except we split one and that is plenty.

Thats about it. I am grateful to have this time of life where I can fritter as I please.

The foot discussion is too much! I always tip big for the first real pedicure of summer, what a job! At least the pedicurists know your feet are clean when they start working on them.

Peps, your pups are truly beautiful. Even an untrained eye like mine can see the beautiful form and the vitality of these charming little canines.

Diane I look forward to the times when I can join you in frittering. I can putz around with the best of them. Even more, I have the natural gift of lounging, I never met a chair I didn't want to sit in.

DD is so, so sad about our cat. There's really nothing to be done but to wait it out with her. Sometimes the only way out is through. But not always fun.

It is time for BFF to go home. She's been here since December 12. It's not entirely her fault, ad she did have a few other places to stay lined up, but they fell through. But still. I want my office back.

There are 2 negative Nellies in my department at work. Right now, we're planning a luncheon for our para professionals. They have a lot of directives for me, since I'm planning incorrectly. (Obvious to them, but not the rest of the staff who are helping me plan, not hindering me). It's giving me a lot of practice with boundaries. No, I am not going to do that, but you are welcome to. I'm going to use this restaurant, but if you want to use that one, that's fine, just write up the order, and I'll place it. No, its going to be on Thursday, but if you want to do something sooner, you certainly can plan something on your own. Ugh. Luckily, the rest of our department is awesome to work with.

My post just got lost!!!!

Late post-long day. We repeated Pearl Harbor and the Diamond Head hike with Mike's son. But we also went to the National Cemetery at the Punchbowl. It was very beautiful and moving. Mike found the name of a friend's older brother who was permanently missing from Vietnam.

We capped the day off at a restaurant recommended by a local here and I had about 3 bites of the worst burger ever. Not worth eating -McDonalds would have been better.

So then we stopped at the Thai Food truck again to get Mike's son some food because his meal stunk too and he is hungry. I am eating some rice to fill the hole now.

Tomorrow we are off to Kauai for 3 days. I wonder what will be similar/different!

I hope you all had a great day!
