Good morning. Beautiful sunny day here, means it is also very cold!

I remembered to take my Fosomax (no eating, drinking, bending over, lying down) and I'm waiting for the timer to go off so I can start drinking tea. In the meantime I'm carrying up the empty Christmas bins. Yes, we have not taken anything down. I will plead being busy being sick. It will eventually happen, it always does.

Have an awesome Sunday everyone!

Another beautiful day in Oahu. We are going to breakfast at a wonderful outside Farm to Table place in a bit. Thai from a food truck for dinner. Interestingly I seem to be fitting into my pants a bit better than I was when we arrived. I think it is because of less snacking and more activity. It will be interesting to see what the scale says (if I remember to check on our one day home).

Our turn-around day back home will be really crazy. We fly out of Honolulu in the late afternoon of 1/30 and arrive in Boston on the morning of 1/31. We have to drive to Cape Cod, gather some more winter-type gear for the Grand Canyon, grab Justice and be back to the airport early in the morning of 2/1 to fly to Arizona. That flight is 1st class thankfully since I expect we will be exhausted.

Time to get changed for breakfast. Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Haha, you travel like it's your job Liz! :) love it, because, if not now, when?

Yeah, I was complaining that I wouldn't know when to sleep that one day home and Mike said not to dwell on it, just go with the flow... Easy for him to say since he traveled a LOT when he worked. LOL

My dad's wife went with me to the grocery store. Lots of snow on the roads so it was good practice! She gave me tips and had me slam on the brakes to feel the anti-lock brakes jittering. Helpful to have a long time resident of Vail, Colorado instruct me.

We made it to 17 degrees today. Dad's still doing great. I hope it's been helpful having me here. It's been good for putting my mind at ease to see him doing well.

MI guy has retreated into whatever hole he escapes to when he goes radio silent for days at a time. It still triggers feelings of abandonment, but it's a good reminder. This is one of a few reasons why we aren't together!

I might think about heading southwest again toward the end of this week if there's a good weather window. I think that's it for me. Take care all!

Yes, driving on snow isn't super difficult if you are used to it. Good education, but I'm sure you are looking forward to California driving!

Greetings all

Just got back from the memorial gathering for our deceased friend. Karma ordered up a beautiful sunny relatively warm day without wind. She and her husband have this wonderful mid century house up on a cliff above the ocean with a spectacular view all around. What a beautiful day to be there. Things went on two hours which was a bit long but her husband and son needed to talk so all is good. I ate one chocolate chip cookie which was spectacular. I took cheese crisps.

Liz Mike is right; whatever time zone you are in just go with whatever it is time to do. Never understood travelers who leave their watch on home time.

Enjoy the day DD. Yep I remember in the midwest the sunniest days were often the coldest but you gotta love it. How long do you have to stand up with that medication?

Leftover pot pie tonight. Nothing better.

CC glad you got some driving lessons from a "pro". I personally hate anti lock brakes. They are indeed startling. They were not invented last time I drove in snow. So glad to hear your dad is doing well. Peps, how is your dad?

Time to go prepare repast for the dogs. Little poppy has become a bit whiney. Oh well, takes after me.

Diane, no bending over etc for 30 minutes with Fosomax, but you can sit. Most annoying, no tea when I first get up. Its only once a week though.
